The screaming on the phone was so loud it seemed to pierce my eardrums.

"Hua Niem! Are you crazy?! That's your Uncle Chu! How can you fire him?!"

Mom's voice was filled with anger and disbelief. I put the phone away a bit. The voice was still calm as before.

"He is no longer an employee of Hung Su Group."

Mom choked up. Maybe she didn't expect me to be so cold. After a few seconds of silence, she changed her tone. The sound softened, bringing with it sobs.

"Nien Niem, I know you're angry."

"Uncle Chu talked a bit too much that day."

"I'm sorry for him, okay?"

"Stop being childish. Call the human resources department and tell them it was just a misunderstanding."

"What if Uncle Chu loses his job?"

"What should my family do?"

I almost burst out laughing. A place that wanted to kick me out the door like trash. Is it worthy of being called family? I spoke coldly.

"I'll repeat it one last time."

"First, Chu Khai's dismissal was the company's decision, not a joke."

"There is no change."

"I don't have any family left there."

"That house is a private world for two people."

"It has nothing to do with the child."

"Hua Niem!"

Mom immediately got angry. The gentle mask that had just been put up in the blink of an eye crumbled.

"Don't let the elephant ask the fairy!"

"I'm your mother!"

"Mom worked so hard to raise you this much!"

"Is that how you repay your mother?"

"Destroying my mother's current happiness because of a deceased person?"

"I'll come back here immediately for mom!"

"Stand in front of me and clearly explain what you're crazy about!"

"I'm not free."

"Mom, did you forget?"

"Currently I am the largest shareholder of Hung Su Group."

"I still have a lot of work to do."

"For example, check the assets dad left behind."

"Let's see if anyone has taken advantage of their position in recent years to usurp it."

There was a gasp on the other end of the line. Her voice was clearly panicked.

"What...what nonsense are you talking about?"

"Whether it's nonsense or not, you'll know after checking."

I hung up. Don't want to waste another second. In the office. Chu Khai was still sitting on the ground. White face. Mouth constantly mumbling:

"Done..."

"Everything is done..."

I looked at him. No pity at all. If I knew today. Why did you do that before? I turned to Secretary Vuong.

"Call security."

"Invite him out."

"Yes, Miss Hua."

Secretary Vuong immediately called internally. Soon. Two tall guards entered. Each person pulled Chu Khai to his feet. Only then did he regain his composure. Started struggling frantically.

"Let me go!"

"You can't do that to me!"

"I'm the sales manager!"

"Hua Niem!"

"You ungrateful girl!"

"Then you won't have a good ending!"

The sound of cursing grew farther and farther away. Until the elevator door closed completely. The office became quiet again. I asked Secretary Vuong to bring here all the financial statements of the last three years along with the records of middle and senior managers. I need to quickly understand this company. This is the most precious thing my father left me. I have to protect it well. An hour later. The office door was suddenly pushed open. Mom rushed in. Hair is messy. Makeup was smudged. Bloodshot eyes. Looks like one The beast is cornered. Behind her are Secretary Vuong and security guards trying to stop her.

"Miss Hua, she..."

I waved my hand.

"Go outside."

Everyone immediately left the room. The door closes. In the large office, there were only mother and child left.

"Hua Niem!"

Mom rushed to the desk. Both hands slammed heavily on the table.

"What do you want to do?!"

"You want to force me to death to satisfy me, right?!"

I raised my head to look at her. Scary calm.

"I'm just taking back what belongs to me."

"Belongs to me?"

Mother laughed bitterly.

"What is mine?"

"This company belongs to my father!"

"Not mine!"

"Your Uncle Chu has devoted himself to the company for ten years!"

"Based on what do you want to chase away?"

"Based on the fact that I am currently the largest shareholder."

I pushed a copy of the share transfer paper towards her. But mom didn't even bother to look. She vigorously swept all the papers to the ground.

"I don't care about shares or stocks at all!"

"Today I must restore Uncle Chu to his position!"

"If not..."

"I will pretend I never gave birth to this daughter!"

She used the thing I feared most to threaten me. If it was before. Maybe I will be in pain. Will panic. But now... I just find it funny.

"Okay."

I replied softly.

"Originally, I'm not worthy of being your mother."

Her whole body stopped. It was as if all my strength had just been drained away. Lips trembling. His eyes were filled with disbelief.

"What...what did you just say?"

I stood up. Look straight into her eyes. Each word rang out clearly.

"A woman wants to please her new husband..."

"Willing to consider biological daughter as a burden."

"Ready to throw away my child."

"Not worthy of being a mother."

A strong slap hit my face. My cheeks immediately burned. Mother trembled with anger. Tears kept flowing down.

"I will kill an ungrateful person like you!"

"Why did I give birth to a meaningless and heartless thing like you?!"

She raised her hand to continue fighting. But I stopped it. My hand tightened on her wrist. Her strength was completely inescapable. My voice was cold as ice.

"I accept this slap."

"From today."

"There's no more debt between us."

"Mother-son relationship..."

"It ends here."

Her face was pale. An unprecedented fear appeared in his eyes. I bowed. Get close to her ear. Say each word slowly.

"Mom and Chu Khai just continue to live their lives."

"But there's one thing..."

"The villa you two are living in is also the property my father left me."

I looked straight into her wide eyes. The corners of the lips curled slightly.

"I'll give you two twenty-four hours."

"Pack your things."

"Leave my house."
