Chapter 4
Chapter 4 — After My Roommate Robbed My Dad
My message was sent in less than five minutes. The phone was frantically vibrating. A strange number called. I pressed listen and conveniently turned on recording. On the other end of the line, a shrill and defiant female voice immediately rang out, with a strong, rustic accent.
“You are Hua Giai, right?!”
It's Trieu Le Hoa. Lam Vy's mother. I didn't reply.
“What did my daughter do wrong to you that you want to harm her like that?!”
“Are you jealous that my daughter is beautiful, talented, and has a rich boyfriend?!”
Her voice was filled with righteous indignation. As if I were the heinous criminal. I almost burst out laughing because I was angry. What kind of robbery logic is this?
“Aunt Trieu.”
I spoke up leisurely.
"The money Lam Vy spent... was my father's money."
“So what?!”
Trieu Le Hoa's voice immediately shot up, sharp enough to be deafening.
"Your father is so rich! Driving a luxury car costs several million yuan! Living in a villa costs tens of millions!"
“The money that passes through his fingers is enough for my whole family to live for the rest of our lives!”
“My daughter is young and beautiful, has been with him for many years, what's wrong with spending a little of his money?!”
“That's what it deserves!”
“It's the cost of its youth!”
“What does a brat like you understand!”
“My daughter depends on her bravery!”
“Don't you dare meddle in other people's business!”
I finally understand. It is true that like mother, like child. Lam Vy's vanity and greed... All inherited from Trieu Le Hoa's bones. In their eyes— Other people's money is their own money. Not only did I not feel humiliated... I also felt proud.
“Aunt Trieu, you are wrong about something.”
My voice was still extremely calm.
“My dad gave Lam Vy money…”
“It's in the name of sponsoring poor students.”
“But not how to raise it.”
"My daughter used fabricating difficult family circumstances and pretending to be a poor student to scam her father into sponsoring money."
“The total amount is one hundred seventy-eight thousand yuan.”
“Within the law…”
“This is called fraud.”
The other end of the line was silent for exactly one second. Immediately followed by screams that were even more crazy than before.
“You farted!”
“What is a scam?!”
"I tell you, Hua Giai, don't let the situation get to you!"
“My daughter followed your father for four years!”
“My daughter gave her all her youth!”
“Don't say more than a million!”
“Even if it's more than ten million... he still has to give it!”
"Now you're planning to pay off your debt, right?! I'm telling you, don't try!"
"If you dare to touch my daughter's hair, I will go to your school and cause chaos! Even your father's company will cause chaos!"
"I will tell everyone that Hua Chan Bang is a hypocrite, specializing in seducing minors! Let's see if you Hua family still have any face left!"
Every word she said... Was stupid and cruel to the extreme. Even smeared my father as a sick pedophile. The fire of anger in my heart was completely ignited. But I don't get angry. Dealing with that kind of person... Anger is the lowest weapon.
“Aunt Trieu.”
I laughed softly.
“I have recorded everything you just said.”
“Including the fact that I admitted that Lam Vy took money from your father.”
“Including her threatening the school and causing trouble at the company.”
“It also includes malicious slander against your father.”
“All of that…”
“They will all return become part of the evidence in court.”
Trieu Le Hoa's screams immediately choked. Just like a strangled chicken.
“You… you set me up?!”
“I'm just telling the truth.”
“I give you two choices.”
"First, bring Lam Vy and the money to your house, let's sit down and talk about repaying the debt."
“See you in court.”
“You can choose for yourself.”
Having finished speaking, I didn't give her any more chance to react and directly hung up. I threw the phone on the sofa, my chest heaving violently. My father came down from upstairs, holding a glass of hot milk in his hand.
“Have you heard it all?”
He nodded, his expression extremely unsightly.
“Dad, sorry… I made you feel angry.”
“So stupid.”
He gave me a glass of milk.
“The one who should apologize… is Dad.”
"It was dad who didn't see clearly and led the wolf into the house himself..."
“That's why I've had to feel sorry for myself for so many years.”
His eyes were full of self-blame.
“Let Dad handle this.”
He spoke in a low voice. I shook my head, my eyes steady.
“This starts with you…”
“Then it must be finished by you.”
“I want them to know…”
"This Hua Giai is not a soft persimmon that anyone can squeeze however they want."
“What they swallow from you…”
“I will make them vomit it all up.”
“Both capital and profit.”
