Chapter 7
Chapter 7 — After Notarizing 5 Houses, I Just Got Married
"All five houses were notarized before the marriage, so on what basis does he demand division?"
"He has no legal basis. But his argument is—after getting married she caused 'emotional damage' to him, so she demands compensation."
"He had an affair, borrowed an app, asked me to transfer the house's title, and as a result, I have to compensate him for my mental damage?"
“That's why I said, this guy is very interesting.”
Tham Hac paused for a moment.
“However, his choice of words implicitly shows that he has already found a lawyer.”
"Still verifying. But from the perspective of his argument, it seems like someone specifically consulted."
I thought for a moment.
"Is there anyone around him who can help him? His family is full of normal people—"
"Ordinary people don't mean they don't have connections. Furthermore, don't forget, there is still a Chu Dinh."
The woman works in sales at that real estate company. The relationships and resources of people in real estate companies are inherently more complex than normal professions.
“I will continue to monitor this case.” Tham Hac said, "Your side absolutely must not have any direct communication with him, all contact will be through me."
"I got it."
Over the next few days, Tran Hao changed tactics. He stopped calling and switched to Wechat messaging. Every day there are three news stories, each news is exactly like the sample essays of some love advice bloggers.
“To Niem, remember the three years we were together, those joys were not fake.”
“I know I'm wrong, but every marriage needs friction.”
“Give me a chance, I will use my whole life to make it up to you.”
I do not respond to any messages. But I noticed one detail— His Wechat Avatar had changed. From the previous selfie, changed to a photo of us together the other day. This is a photo taken on the sun wheel on New Year's Eve last year. He's acting. And the acting is very immersive. I took screenshots of these messages and kept them carefully, then forwarded them all to Tham Hac.
“Continue to save evidence.” Tham Hac texted back.
By the end of the week, things began to escalate. Saturday morning, I was at her villa when I received a call from an unknown number.
“Miss To Niem, right?”
Female voice, very young.
“You may not know who I am, but I think there are some things you should know.”
“Who are you?”
“My name is Chu Dinh.”
My hand stopped.
“Has Tran Hao ever mentioned me to you?”
“If there's anything, just say it directly.”
"Miss To, do you believe it? Tran Hao said he wanted to divorce you because of you, not because of me."
“Did you call just to say this?”
“I'm calling to let you know—Tran Hao said, if we get a divorce and share the house, he will marry me.”
I chuckled silently.
“He will not be given any house.”
“Are you sure?”
“100% sure.”
Chu Dinh hesitated.
“So do you know who he contacted yesterday?”
“You say it.”
"Yesterday he contacted a person named Liu Loi. This person is a henchman of my company's boss, specializing in doing things - how should I put it, things that are not very fair. Tran Hao met with him, I don't know what they talked about, but Tran Hao came home in a very good mood, saying that this matter is a sure winner."
I squeezed Tighten the phone.
“Why are you telling me these things?”
"Because he promised to split that 330,000 with me, but now he says he has to take it all and take care of the lawsuit, and won't give me a penny more. Miss To, I don't have any grudges against you, but I have to get the money he owes me back. So—"
“So you intend to take my side?”
“I intend to stand up for myself.”
I was silent for two seconds.
“What evidence can you provide?”
"The conversation history between me and him over the past three years is still intact. The screenshots of the wire transfers he sent me, the photos of us going out together, and the words he said about you—do you want to hear what he said about you?"
"No need. You compile all the evidence, send it to an email address, I will text you the address."
"Okay. But Miss To, I have one condition."
"That 330,000, after he divorces you, no matter what the court decides, you have to help me reclaim 16 and a half thousand of my money."
“Successful communication.”
Hanging up the phone, I recounted the content of the call to my aunt. She was looking at a report, her head not looking up.
"When the storks fight, the fisherman wins. Miss Chu Dinh is also a smart person."
“Do you think her words are trustworthy?”
"Believable or not doesn't matter, her chat history can be used as additional evidence. As for that guy Liu Lei—"
She put down the report and picked up the phone.
"Old Tran, help me look up someone. Liu Loi, working at Hoa An Real Estate."
The person on the other end of the line seemed to have said something. She raised her eyebrows.
"Oh? What a coincidence."
Hanging up, she looked at me.
"Liu Loi, a somewhat famous legal broker, specializes in helping others fight lawsuits in the gray area. His forte is helping one party disperse assets in divorce cases."
“Why did Tran Hao look for him?”
“I guess.”
