Chapter 3
Chapter 3 — After Ten Years of Silence, the Whole Industry Sees Me
Ms. Tan was silent for a moment.
"I understand you. If it were me, being treated like that, I wouldn't be able to swallow this anger."
She paused for a moment and then said:
“But I have to tell you something.”
“Say it.”
“The person in charge of Cam Hoa's side just called.”
“They pointed out my name.”
“Do you know what Mr. Vuong said?”
"He said, if Tham Nhuoc Tinh was not directly in charge, he would cancel the contract."
My hand stopped.
“How did Mr. Tong respond?”
“General Tong told Hua Uyen Thanh to make a proposal in advance.”
"Tell him that he can let Mr. Vuong take a look first, and if he's satisfied, he'll move on."
Ms. Tan looked at me.
“Nhuoc Tinh, I didn't come here to persuade you to give in.”
“But have you thought about it?”
“If Mr. Vuong really cancels the contract, Tong Chi Vien will definitely put all the responsibility on you.”
“At that point, it's no longer about bonuses.”
“He will say that you affect the company's business activities because of your personal feelings, then label you as not having a team spirit.”
“The year-end evaluation will definitely be at the bottom.”
I laughed.
“He can judge whatever he wants.”
“At best, just fire me.”
"Anyway, you must compensate me with ten months' salary."
“This stubbornness of yours.”
Ms. Tan sighed.
“Just like my mother.”
She knows my mother. That year when my mother passed away, she took the bus from Hai Thanh to her hometown for eight hours to help me take care of the funeral. I didn't reply. Ms. Tan stood up. At the door, she stopped for a moment.
“There is one sentence, I know I have a lot of things to say.”
“I refused the Cam Hoa project not because of anger.”
“I'm just so disappointed.”
Having finished speaking, she left. The lights in the office turned on one after another. Outside the glass door, the night of Hai Thanh slowly spreads. High-rise buildings close together. The lights connect into bright patches. You're right. Not angry. It's disappointment. The next morning. I'm sitting at my desk organizing customer files. The phone suddenly rang.
“Tham Nhuoc Tinh, right?”
The voice was very strange but extremely polite.
"It's me. May I ask who?"
“My last name is Chu, Chu Hac Minh.”
“Maybe you don't remember me anymore.”
“Five years ago, at the Qingdao International Advertising Festival, she won the Gold Award.”
“I was one of the judges then.”
Chu Hac Minh. Almost no one knows this name in the advertising world. Patriarch of Shanghai's advertising industry. Forty years in the profession. Training three generations of leading creative talents. He owns more than a hundred prestigious international awards. He is one of the participants in developing industry standards. It is the pinnacle that all advertising people look up to.
"Hello, Mr. Chu. Of course I still miss you."
“Don't stress.”
“I just want to chat for a bit.”
“What are you busy with these days?”
“I still work at Thinh Hang Media.”
"I know."
He stopped for a moment.
“You've been there for ten years.”
“I read the series of articles you published in Creative Frontline magazine.”
“Excellent writing.”
“Especially the set of visual ideas called Talking Still Life.”
“Up to now I am still deeply impressed.”
“Master Chu is too complimentary.”
“It's not too much of a compliment.”
His voice was very calm.
“There is a spirit in your work.”
“Someone with aura like you, clear This industry is becoming less and less now.”
He did not specify the purpose of the call. After a few simple pleasantries, he hung up. I held the phone, stunned for a long time. Why did Chu Hac Minh suddenly call me? Before I could think, Ha Than came running again.
“Miss Tham, Hua Uyen Thanh's first plan is out.”
The expression on Ha Than's face said it all.
“After watching, Mr. Vuong only said four words.”
“What four words?”
“No sincerity.”
I didn't speak up. Ha Than lowered his voice.
“I heard that President Vuong has given an ultimatum.”
“If by next Wednesday there is still no solution that satisfies him, he will officially cancel the contract.”
“That's the company's business.”
“Miss Tham, the company has begun to think of other options.”
“What plan?”
“Spending a lot of money to invite outside experts.”
