Chapter 10
Chapter 10 — After the Rain, the Sun Comes Bright Again
"Di Than, have you seen the story of the Tu family?" "They made so much noise, it's already on hot search, I'll lose face and die." "Where's Tu Chi Nhac, my parents were arguing so loudly and yet he didn't show up?" The friend pouted and sneered: "Him? Snails can't carry themselves anymore." "Originally, Ha Diem's mother was going to sue him for raping Ha." Diem, but it happened so long ago, where did she get the evidence?" "After that, she planned to wait for her daughter to get out of prison and force Tu Chi Nhac to marry Ha Diem." "Who knew that Tu Chi Nhac would not agree to live and die, so Ha Diem's mother went to his company every day to cause trouble." "Several times in front of customers, she accused Tu Chi Nhac of making her daughter's belly bigger and didn't want to take responsibility." "Now Tu Chi Nhac." Nhac was fired by the company, and is at home borrowing alcohol to soothe his sorrows." After listening, I burst out laughing: "It's deserved." "That's their retribution!"11. One year later in the summer, I went back to that city on a business trip. Coincidentally, it coincided with the rainy season, the air was damp and moldy. The raindrops fluttering in the sky turned into torrential rain in the blink of an eye. I closed my umbrella and stopped at the familiar pan-fried dumpling shop I ate at the day before to get shelter from the rain. The owner of the restaurant is still the same owner as before. As soon as the lid of the pot was opened, steam rose up, covering the whole house. I ordered a portion of dumplings, slowly sipping each small piece. Behind me, a half-strange, half-familiar voice rang out: "Boss, give me the same meal." He sat down at the table right in front of me, wearing an old but very carefully maintained jacket. There was another guest walking past him, the umbrella in his hand accidentally brushed against him. Tu Chi Nhac was a bit stunned at first, then got angry: "Don't you have eyes? How are you walking?!" "You've soiled my shirt, do you know that?" The other guest was also upset: "I've already apologized, at best I'll give you something else!" "Why are you so impatient, are you crazy?" "Who are you calling crazy?!" Seeing that a fight was about to happen, the boss quickly ran over with a smile to stop him. He pulled the other customer to the next table and sat down, whispering: "Don't take it personally with him, his wife just got divorced, he lost his job..." "I heard he used to get drunk every day, now he's good enough to just go out the door." "His temper has been very irritable lately, absolutely don't tease him, who knows what crazy thing he'll do..." I looked up and didn't say anything. His temples were dotted with silver, and his whole body shrank under his coat. Just looking from the back, you can see that he is incredibly skinny, his shoulders are bony. This jacket was the gift I saved up to buy for him the second year we were in love. During those eight years, he could count on one hand the number of times he wore this shirt, but now he sees it as a treasure. That's really funny. I didn't look any further, paid and left. But the sound of his heels hitting the floor made Tu Chi Nhac instinctively turn his head. "Di Than..." He absent-mindedly called my name. I didn't bother to look back, opened my umbrella and walked into the rain. Behind him, the sound of tables and chairs colliding was heard. Right after that, a pair of staring eyes followed my footsteps. But I never once looked back. Waiting until I was far enough away and that annoying stare finally disappeared, I frowned and whispered: "I still hate the rain, mom..."
