Chapter 9
Chapter 9 — At this point, I don't need to act anymore
Van Dinh's Board of Directors asked me to directly explain. Uncle Chau said angrily:
"Miss."
"Just looking at it, I know it was Kieu Man who did it."
I shook my head.
"She's alone..."
"It is impossible to write such a strict denunciation."
Luc Hanh Chu spoke up.
"Trinh Nghien's old assistant."
"Lately contacting her very often."
I immediately remembered Luu Man. She has followed Trinh Nghien since the early days of her career. For many years now. Luu Man has always believed that... It was I who stole the position in the International Business department that belonged to her. Old debt, new debt. All gathered together at once. The date of the presentation. Liu Man was also present. She stood behind several Board members.
"I'm just telling the truth."
"After you took power."
"A lot of veteran employees really feel insecure."
"Who are these?"
Luu Man replied:
"Everyone is afraid of your revenge."
"So no one dares to stand up."
I laughed.
"Only you dare?"
Luu Man's face changed slightly.
"I only think about the company."
I pulled out a list.
"The so-called veteran employee you mentioned..."
"Is it these seven people?"
Liu Man did not speak. I continue.
"These seven people."
"Ever received refund money against Trinh Nghien's regulations."
"He once helped Kieu Man spread rumors within the company group."
"Even distributed false information to customers."
"You call them victims."
"What is a company?"
The eyes of the Board members simultaneously turned to Luu Man. Liu Man started to panic.
"I didn't spread any rumors."
I opened a recording. That was the conversation between her and Kieu Man. Luu Man's voice rang out.
"Don't curse Hua Van directly."
"It has to be written in a way where she uses her power to bully people."
"Pregnant women are inherently in a weak position."
"Everyone will believe."
Kieu Man's voice asked:
"What if she gives evidence?"
Liu Man laughed.
"The more evidence..."
"It makes people see her as cruel."
The recording ends. Luu Man's face immediately turned pale. The Chairman of the Board of Directors asked in a low voice:
"That's your voice?"
Liu Man opened his mouth.
"I just..."
I interrupted.
"Don't say 'just'."
"She wants a promotion."
"Kieu Man wants to turn the situation around."
"Trinh Nghien wants to retain power."
"The three of you..."
"No one is innocent."
Luu Man suddenly burst into tears.
"I followed General Director Trinh for six years."
"Why did you just come back..."
"Have it all again?"
I looked straight at her.
"Because..."
"I invested money in the company."
"Because..."
"I bring in customers."
"Because..."
"I have never relied on defaming others to take position."
The whole meeting room. No one spoke up to defend Liu Man. The Chairman of the Board of Directors immediately declared.
"Temporarily suspended from work for investigation."
Liu Man's legs were soft. She had to put her hands on the edge of the table to stand steady. I walked in front of her.
"You may hate me."
"Don't gamble on the trust the company gives you."
Liu Man bowed his head. Kieu Man has lost her last ally. As for Trinh Nghien... He also lost his last chance to turn the situation around. But... Trinh's mother still refused to stop. She brought along a group of relatives. Stop right below the apartment complex where I just moved.
"You get down here for me!"
"Divorce is okay."
"But the house must be left to Trinh Nghien!"
When I get down below. The relatives stood in a long line. Trinh's mother pointed straight at me.
"That house..."
"When purchased, both husband and wife's names were written on it."
"Now Trinh Nghien has lost his job."
"You can't chase it out."
I calmly replied:
"Deposit to buy the wedding house..."
"It was my fault."
Trinh's mother immediately argued back.
"But the installment payment after marriage..."
"It's Trinh Nghien's return!"
I turned to look at the lawyer standing next to me. The lawyer calmly said:
"Amount used for installment payments..."
"Most of it comes from profits from Ms. Hua's pre-marital assets."
"All statements are complete."
The relatives looked at each other. Trinh's mother still refused to give up.
"Anyway..."
"That is also the house where the couple used to live together."
I looked at her.
"You want to stay?"
Trinh's mother was stunned. I continue.
"Okay."
"So first..."
"She paid all expenses for the two months Kieu Man spent there."
"Calculated at market rent."
"Plus the cost of depreciation of assets."
Trinh's mother's face immediately turned red.
"Do you still calculate each item with me like that?"
“Didn't you come here to settle accounts with me?”
Trinh Nghien walked out from behind the crowd.
“Mom, stop making trouble.”
Trinh's mother turned to scold him:
“Are you afraid now?”
“After being harmed like this, you still speak for him?”
Trinh Nghien looked at me.
“I don't need the house.”
“I just want to talk about divorce with you.”
I nodded.
“The lawyer is here.”
Trinh's mother immediately panicked.
“Are you crazy?”
Trinh Nghien did not look at her. He picked up the agreement and turned to the last page. The pen stopped in mid-air. He asked:
“Hua Van, have we really come to this step?”
“From the day I brought Kieu Man home, we have come to this step.”
Trinh Nghien signed his name down. Trinh's mother sat down on the steps.
“It's done, the Trinh family is really done.”
