Chapter 10
Chapter 10 — Being forced to divorce empty-handed, I made him empty-handed for the rest of his life
"Tran Tu Ngang, my happiness today... is thanks to your lovelessness that year."
“From now on, you will never enter my life again.”
“My daughter and I… will never let you hurt me again.”
Two male employees stepped forward and pulled him out. Tran Tu Ngang struggled: "To Van! I will not give up!" I calmly replied: "It's your job if you don't give up. It's my right to refuse." The door closes. I sat down and hugged Doa Doa in my arms.
“It's okay, mom is here.”
She hugged my neck tightly: "Mom... dad is so scary..."
“He won't bother us anymore.”
That night, Chu Tinh called: "To Van, Tran Tu Ngang is on hot search again. Someone recorded a video, the whole network is cursing him."
"I know."
“What are you going to do?”
"I will apply for a restraining order. If he continues to approach me and my daughter, I will report to the police."
“Okay, let me help you contact a lawyer.”
I hung up the phone and looked out the window. Tran Tu Ngang... the more you do that, the more I will never turn back. What you owe me, I cannot repay in this lifetime. Tran Tu Ngang really went crazy. Every day he loiters in front of the studio door, sometimes holding flowers, sometimes carrying toys. I called the police three times. When the police came, he left. As soon as the police left, he came back. The restraining order is still pending approval, he took advantage of that gap. Chu Tinh was frustrated: "Is this person as sticky as glue?"
“I know what he's doing,” I said calmly, “he wants to force me to soften.”
“Are you soft?”
"Never."
But I didn't expect... he would go to that extent. That night, the studio was closed. I took Doa Doa back to Chu Tinh's house, suddenly remembered that I had forgotten a blueprint, so I went back to get it. As soon as I got under the building, I saw that the lock had been picked. My heart sank. I pushed the door and walked in. Light bulbs were broken, computers were lying on the ground, design drawings were scattered everywhere, cabinets were overturned, documents were ransacked. In the middle of the office—Tran Tu Ngang stood there. In hand holds a hammer. He's smashing my trophy.
"Tran Tu Ngang! What are you doing!"
He turned around. His eyes were bloodshot and his whole body reeked of alcohol.
“To Van, if you don't remarry me, I won't let you live in peace!”
He raised the hammer and slammed it down on my desk. I calmly pulled out my phone and dialed.
“Just keep pounding, I'm done filming.”
He rushed forward and tried to snatch the phone, I swerved to avoid him.
“You destroyed my studio, do you think you can escape?”
"What if I can't escape? I have no money, no home, no job, what else am I afraid of!"
He raised his hammer, intending to strike me down. I shouted loudly: "I've called the police! They're coming!" He paused for a second. Police sirens sounded from afar, approaching. His face immediately panicked, he dropped the hammer, turned around and tried to run. Two policemen rushed in and pinned him to the ground. Tran Tu Ngang struggled: "Let me go! I'm her husband!" The police turned to me and asked: "Do you know this person?"
"Ex-husband. He broke the lock, broke into my studio, destroyed property, and tried to assault me. I filmed everything."
The handcuffs are locked. He looked at me, then looked at the phone in my hand, and suddenly laughed: "To Van, you're really good. From the beginning you calculated me. Already."
“It's not about calculating you. I'm defending myself.”
He was led away. I stood in the middle of the devastated studio, looking at the broken computer and drawings falling everywhere, my throat choked. Tears... almost fell. But I don't let it fall. I bent down, picked up each design, and adjusted each sheet. The phone rang. Chu Tinh called.
“To Van, are you okay?”
"Fine. Tran Tu Ngang has been arrested."
“Oh my god, I'll be right over!”
"No need. You should take care of Doa Doa. I can handle this place myself.”
