Chapter 9
Chapter 9 — Being forced to divorce empty-handed, I made him empty-handed for the rest of his life
I used the divided property to rent a space for a studio. Not big, about sixty square meters, but located right in the center, very good location. I designed it myself, minimalist style, took a month to complete. On the opening day, Chu Tinh led the entire media team to film videos. Title: "From being forced to leave with nothing to starting her own business: a woman's remarkable comeback." The video just posted has surpassed one million views within a day. The comments section was filled with support.
“This lady is so cool!”
“Women have to be like that, stand up for yourself!”
“Design information please!”
Orders started pouring in. The first customer was Chu Tinh's friend, renovating the house with a budget of thirty thousand. I offer three options, customers choose the most expensive option. After completion, they were very satisfied and even introduced me. The second and third guests followed. Three months of capital return, half a year starting to make a profit. Chu Tinh planned to help me out: "At this rate, you can earn hundreds of thousands by the end of the year."
“What else do you want?”
“I want to help people like me.”
Chu Tinh paused. I opened my phone and showed her the plan: "I want to open a training program to help housewives return to the labor market. Teach them design software, how to work with customers, how to make plans."
“Are you going to do charity work?”
"No. This is a business. Housewives understand the family's needs best, they are the best designers. I train them, they take on projects for me, both sides benefit."
Chu Tinh gave a thumbs up: "To Van, your vision... is different." I smiled slightly.
“It doesn't come naturally.”
“It's because you're forced into a corner... that you learn.”
The following days passed, slowly but surely. My studio is getting more and more crowded, orders are coming in endlessly. I hired five more employees, all women who were full-time housewives. They work hard and meticulously, customers are satisfied, and the studio's reputation gradually spreads. Doa Doa also adapted very well to the new school. Every day after school, she ran to the studio, doing her homework while chatting with everyone. I used to think... life would be peaceful. Until that afternoon. Tran Tu Ngang appeared. He was wearing a wrinkled suit, his hair was messy, and in his hand was a bouquet of withered flowers. As soon as the door opened, he immediately knelt down when he saw me.
"To Van... please... let's remarry."
The staff in the room were startled. Doa Doa was sitting and painting. As soon as she saw him, she immediately hid behind me. I stepped up to block her: "Tran Tu Ngang, what are you going to do?"
"To Van, I really know I was wrong. This past year, my life has been worse than death. Without you, without Doo Doa, I have no meaning anymore. If you give me a chance, I will definitely change."
He held up the bouquet of flowers. I don't accept.
"Tran Tu Ngang, have you paid the alimony? Have you paid the compensation yet?"
His face stiffened: "I... I don't have money right now, but I can pay in installments..."
“No money?” I smiled faintly, "So what did you get to remarry?"
"To Van, I know you opened a studio, you have money. I don't need your money, I just want to be with you and Doa Doa."
I looked at him, his smile cold to the bone.
"Don't need my money? So what do you need?"
“I need you!”
“Tran Tu Ngang, when you forced me to leave empty-handed, you didn't say that."
He burst into tears, sobbing until he choked.
“To Van… I have really changed… believe me…”
There were people gathered around. Someone recognized him.
“Isn't that the adulterous guy? Are you here to harass me again?”
“Shameless. Seeing that they are fine now, they come back and ask for a reunion."
Tran Tu Ngang still knelt, refusing to stand up. I took out my phone and turned it on speaker. His voice at that time rang out clearly: "To Van, you are a woman with no job, no income, why are you fighting with me?" His face was red. I added another paragraph: "Lam Mi is just a tool, after giving birth to my son I will let her go." The surrounding crowd began to whisper.
“This kind of person is really terrible.”
“Sister, don't be soft-hearted, chase away!”
I turned off the phone and looked straight at him.
