Chapter 8
Chapter 8 — Being Slagged by My Mother-in-Law in the Crowd, I Turned to Sell the House
Right when Luu Ngoc Tran cried the loudest, a loud and majestic voice suddenly rang out outside the crowd.
"What's that noise?! Why are you gathering here?!"
The crowd automatically separated to open a path. The village chief clasped his hands behind his back, frowned, and entered. He is a distant relative on my father's side, and is also the person who watched me grow up from a young age. He walked up to my father and asked in a low voice:
“Jianjun, what happened?”
Seeing the village chief, my father felt like he had met a savior, his eyes immediately turning red.
"Uncle... they... are Tinh Tinh's husband's family... said she stole money from their family..."
The village chief nodded and turned to look at Luu Ngoc Tran. He assessed the crowd of people in the city in front of him from top to bottom. Even though they are struggling now, they can still see that the clothes used to be very expensive. His eyes became sharper.
“Are you Wen Qing's in-laws?”
Luu Ngoc Tran saw the person who seemed to be in charge of the matter coming and immediately stood up from the ground, pointed at my parents and began to denounce.
"Yes! It's us! Let me tell you, their daughter..."
“Please don't say anything.”
The village chief raised his hand to interrupt her.
“Let me ask you a few questions first.”
“You said Wen Qing stole tens of millions of yuan from your house?”
Luu Ngoc Tran answered enthusiastically.
“So have you guys called the police yet?”
The village chief asked. Luu Ngoc Tran immediately stopped.
"Tens of millions of yuan is not a small number. It is a huge criminal case."
"You guys didn't call the police right away, but instead you ran to this poor village, stood in front of two old men and women with nothing to do, and started rioting?"
The village chief's voice is not loud. But every word is as clear and strong as a hammer.
“Do you think we villagers are easy to bully?”
“Or do you think the police here are just decorations?”
Luu Ngoc Tran was speechless when asked. Giang Ha's face immediately changed, he took a step forward to explain.
“Village chief, you misunderstood, this is our family's private matter…”
“Personal matter?”
The village chief laughed coldly.
"Running to our village, in front of all the villagers, humiliating the dignity and slandering the honor of the people in the village, are you telling me this is a private matter?"
He looked around at the surrounding villagers, his voice suddenly rising.
“I tell you!”
“The whole village knows what kind of people Wen Jianjun and Tu Anh are!”
“Love Love is the golden phoenix that flew out of our village!”
“We believe in her dignity!”
“As for you people, your background is unclear, just opening your mouth costs tens of millions of yuan…”
“I think you guys look like scammers!”
The village chief's words immediately sparked the villagers' emotions.
"That's right! Professor On's house cannot be stolen!"
“The people in this city look like they're not the good kind!”
“Get them out!”
The situation reversed in the blink of an eye. The Giang family came from all sides to question the crime... Suddenly they became the object of criticism from the whole village. Looking at the angry faces around them, for the first time they felt truly afraid. The village chief looked at them and then took out an old man's phone from his pocket.
“I don't care what family problems you guys have.”
"But your current behavior has seriously affected security and order in the village."
“I will call the police now.”
“Leave it, comrades The police came to talk to you.”
The police in the small district arrived very quickly. An old police car with lights and siren on ran straight from the beginning of the village to my front gate. Two uniformed policemen got out of the car. An older person. A very young person. Seeing that the police were really coming, Luu Ngoc Tran was no longer afraid. In her eyes, the police are people of the state, and they certainly know better than these "country people". She immediately rushed forward, crying and telling her story.
“Comrade police! You must be our master!”
“My daughter-in-law Wen Qing stole tens of millions of yuan from our family and ran away!”
“We went to look for his parents to ask for an explanation, but in the end they even called the whole village to bully us!”
The old police officer, surnamed Vuong, was a police officer in this area and was very familiar with the village chief. He first nodded to the village chief, then turned to look at Luu Ngoc Tran with a serious expression.
“Comrade, calm down first.”
“What's your name? Is there evidence for what you say?”
Giang Ha stepped forward and showed his ID card.
"Comrade police, my name is Giang Ha, I am Wen Qing's husband."
“What my mother said is true. On Tinh sold the house we were living in, took all the money and now can't contact us."
Police Officer Vuong took the ID card, looked at it, then asked:
“You said the house was sold, so whose name is on the house documents?”
Giang Ha's throat moved slightly, his voice immediately lowered.
“It's… her name.”
“Is it her pre-marital assets?”
Police Vuong continued to question. Giang Ha's face immediately turned red. Officer Wang returned his ID card to him, his voice carrying a hint of impatience.
“So that's right.”
"A person selling her property before marriage is her legal right, what does it have to do with you?"
“As for what you said, she brought the money away. The two of you are husband and wife and have not divorced, so isn't her money also the common property of the couple? Why did you run away with money?"
The younger police officer standing next to him couldn't help but mutter a sentence.
“Isn't it just the wife selling the house and going back to her hometown, and the husband bringing them all to cause trouble? It sounds like a big financial case.”
Even though the voice was very small, everyone heard it. Giang Ha's face changed from red to blue, then from blue to white. Luu Ngoc Tran immediately became impatient.
“Why is it not relevant?! She is the daughter-in-law of our Giang family!”
“That person belongs to the Giang family! Of course, his money also belongs to the Giang family!”
“Our entire family of sixteen people have now had their houses sold to the point where we have no place to live! Isn't that still a big deal?!”
