Chapter 8
Chapter 8 — Change Destiny Thanks to Comments
I did not give in at all, looking straight at the matchmaker:
“I do not accept this blind marriage.”
After speaking, I raised my hand to signal:
"Please come back quickly. I absolutely do not agree to this marriage."
Just when the situation became tense, Trieu Ngoc Linh arrived uninvited. She put on a fake face and stepped forward to advise:
"An Hao, listen to your aunt and uncle. These conditions are really good. You have a stable job and an iron rice bowl. If you miss this opportunity, you won't have it again in the future."
"Don't miss out on a good relationship because of temporary impulsiveness. You won't have time to regret it."
I was extremely offended. Being given such fake advice from her made me even more frustrated.
"I said not to marry. If you think that person is so good, then marry him yourself."
After speaking, I immediately stepped forward, raising my hand to chase people away. Seeing my strong opposition, my brother quickly spoke up in defense:
"My parents and younger sister really don't want it. Or just skip this marriage and keep her at home for a few more years."
Father immediately hit him hard. He coldly shouted:
“Your sister is still young and doesn't understand things, so are you also causing trouble with her?”
“The groom's family's conditions are so good!”
The house immediately became chaotic, arguing continuously rang out. At that moment, comments quickly appeared: 【The female lead is truly unvirtuous. She stood up and introduced the woman to a man who was a domestic abuser.】 【So scary! This man's previous wife was abused to death by him. If a woman marries there, how can she have good days?】 【What is still necessary to think about? Definitely not a good life! The female lead is too cruel. Whoever gets in her way, she wants to push that person to death.】 【The story of the evil girl is like that…】 My eyes immediately became cold. I turned around, grabbed the long broom from the corner of the wall, and swept it vigorously towards the matchmaker and Trieu Ngoc Linh.
"Get out! Everyone get out of here!"
The two people were beaten so much that they kept backing away and struggled to get out of my yard. After sending them away, I turned around and slowly explained to my angry parents:
"That man is not a good person at all. He has an aggressive personality and often beats his wife. His first wife was beaten to death by him."
The parents' faces immediately turned pale. The two people's backs were covered in cold sweat. They quickly asked people to go everywhere to inquire and verify. As expected, what they learned made everyone scared. The man's previous wife did not die of illness at all. She was beaten to death. His whole family is arrogant, cruel, and no one is good. Knowing the truth, my parents were extremely scared. The two immediately wanted to go find the matchmaker to settle the matter. I raised my hand to stop them, telling them not to continue arbitrarily arranging my marriage in the future. Trieu Ngoc Linh saw that the marriage plan he had worked hard to plan for me failed. She immediately used another trick. She pulled her aunts together to talk:
"Don't you know yet? An Hao is about to get engaged. The subject is an official worker at the food station in the neighboring village, has an iron rice bowl, and can eat government food. From now on, he won't have to worry about food and clothes for the rest of his life."
News spreads quickly from person to person. Before long, it was transmitted reached Luc Kieu's ears. Kieu An Hao is about to marry someone else! Just a few short sentences were like a cold hand suddenly squeezing his heart, making it difficult for him to breathe. Knowing that she was about to have a stable, prosperous life, he should have been happy. But why is he so miserable? His chest ached constantly. Luc Kieu fell ill. No one knows how he endured that night. My heart continuously aches. It was like there were countless small needles stuck inside. Pain, bitterness and despair mixed together, weighing him down so much that he couldn't sleep all night. For three days, he did not go out to work. He locked himself in a cold room. Even though his harsh parents scolded and urged him, he still lay motionless, completely unresponsive. Luc Kieu lay in the house for three days. During that time, he continuously forced himself to let go. Finally, he convinced himself. He decided to go into the mountains to hunt some wild animals and sell them to get money to buy wedding clothes for Kieu An Hao. That day was overcast. My bamboo basket is almost full of mushrooms. Seeing the rain starting to fall heavily, I was about to return home when the comments appeared again: 【The important episode is here! Just today, the male protagonist went hunting in the mountains and fell into a trap. The heroine went into the mountains to find him. A man and a woman were trapped in the mountain all night.】 【The next day, the whole village knew about it. The male lead successfully married the female lead, then returned to the city to enjoy happiness together.] My heart immediately jumped. Without hesitation, I turned around and went deeper into the mountain. There were absolutely no people on all four sides. The rain got heavier and heavier. The comments only said Luc Kieu was in a trap hole deep in the mountain, but did not specify the specific location. On the other side, deep in the jungle, Luc Kieu was bowing his head following the tracks of wild animals. He accidentally missed a step, and his whole body immediately lost balance and fell down. A "bang" sounded. He fell hard into a hidden trap hole. Luckily there were no iron traps inside to hunt animals. But rainwater makes the ground in the hole become slippery. There is absolutely no place to borrow force. He tried climbing up several times but failed. Rainwater continuously flows into the hole. The water was up past his calves. The bone-chilling cold spread to all limbs, body temperature quickly dropped. Just when he didn't know what to do, a familiar, gentle voice suddenly rang out above his head. Luc Kieu was stunned, thinking that the cold made him hallucinate.
