Chapter 2
Chapter 2 — Destroying the Wedding Party

The smile on Manh Minh Trach's face immediately froze. I looked straight ahead, waiting for him to continue driving. Today is a good day to register your marriage, I don't want to argue with you. Suddenly, Manh Minh Trach opened the door and got out of the car, then walked around to my side and forcefully pulled my wrist out of the car. The almost forced action caused me to lose my footing, causing so much pain that cold sweat poured down my forehead. But what chilled me the most was his words:
"Lo Lo, think carefully. If you don't agree to this today, don't dream of getting married!"
I endured the pain of looking at his gloomy face, starting to doubt whether I had to be blind to love someone like that.
"Meng Minh Trach, just because I don't agree to except the bride price, you want to leave me on the side of the road?"
He turned his back on the car, leaving behind a cold sentence:
“I brought it on myself.”
Just a moment later, his car drove away, leaving me alone in the middle of a deserted suburban street with no one in sight. A cold wind blew, my heart seemed to completely freeze. Even though the cold wind blew, I still wanted to believe that it was all a joke. After all, we've been together for five years, Manh Minh Trach has always been gentle, how could he accidentally leave me like that? I took out my phone to call him, but he didn't answer. Unwilling, I texted him.
“Manh Minh Trach, I'm starting to get angry, come back and pick me up!”
Half an hour later, he texted back. When I saw the words on the screen, I felt like my heart was completely numb.
"Unless you agree to accept the twenty thousand bride price, I will immediately come back to pick you up. Otherwise, don't dream of registering your marriage today, just prepare yourself to be laughed at!"
At this point I understood, Manh Minh Trach was really serious. He really dared to leave me on the side of the road because of the bride price on the day of the marriage registration! Another cold wind blew past, and I was completely awake. Are people laughing at you? I want to see if I can't register today, who is it that people laugh at! At that moment, my brother called.
"Girl, are you done registering yet? Take a picture for me to see!"
Hearing my brother's voice, my heart felt like it had more solid support. I gradually tightened my hands and spoke seriously:
"Brother, bring a few more people to Manh Minh Trach's hometown. I won't get married again, but this wedding must be destroyed for me!"
My brother grew up with me since I was young. As soon as he heard that, he knew I was being bullied and immediately agreed.
"Okay! Dare to bully my sister, let me make the Manh family unable to raise their heads!"
When I hung up the phone, my mood gradually calmed down. It's very difficult to catch a bus in the suburbs, so I waited for more than an hour before someone finally agreed to let me hitchhike for a while. I arrived at the biggest hotel in town, the bright red LED screen was still running the words:
“Congratulations to Mr. Manh Minh Trach and Ms. Quan Lo on their happy marriage registration!”
Now looking back at that line, I just find it indescribably offensive. I lifted my foot and was about to enter the hotel, but was stopped by someone at the door.
"Sorry, today the entire hotel has been booked by Mr. Manh for the wedding party. Do you have an invitation?"
I smirked, pointed to the large wedding photo next to them and asked:
“I am The main character also needs an invitation to enter?
The employee looked at the photo and then looked at me, his eyes full of surprise, his expression immediately becoming confused.
“It turned out to be Ms. Quan… why did you…”
"I'll just ask you one question, has Manh Minh Trach arrived yet?"
I interrupted her. The employee paused for a moment then nodded:
"Mr. Manh arrived two hours ago."
This sentence makes me even angrier. Leaving me standing trembling in the cold wind for two hours, calling without answering, texting without answering, yet he leisurely returned to the hotel to welcome his relatives from the countryside! This party, I must make it right! I pushed open the door of the banquet room, inside it was already crowded with people. What made me even more angry was that the food on the table had almost been eaten, and they didn't even intend to wait for me.
“Oh, the new bride of the Manh family has arrived!”
I don't know who shouted a word, immediately dozens of eyes simultaneously turned towards me. My future mother-in-law walked up, frowned, grabbed my hand and pinched it hard. I was so hurt, before I could say anything, I heard her grumble: "Lo Lo, you're really unreasonable. No matter how angry you are, you shouldn't have left your car in the middle of the road like that!" Forcing so many relatives to wait for you at the hotel for two hours, did your parents teach you to be so disrespectful?
