Chapter 4 — Divorcing the Cold Battalion Commander

Lam Mieu bowed her head, but the corner of her mouth couldn't hide the raised expression. My heart, along with his words, completely sank into the ice cellar. The last remaining fervent expectations of the original owner were completely extinguished. I looked at Luc Xuyen, then at Lam Mieu's pitiful, heart-touching face standing next to him, and suddenly burst out laughing.

“Because of her, you want to divorce me?”

I took a step forward, looking straight into his cold eyes.

“Okay, great!”

Luc Xuyen seemed to be dazzled by my reaction, he frowned.

“Let the whole military compound gather around to see my disheveled clothes.”

"Let the childhood sweetheart that you protected cry and blame me for having an affair."

“Now, you ask me to save face for you?”

I clearly asked each word:

“Luc Xuyen, what about my reputation?”

He was blocked by me and couldn't say a word. I took a deep breath, suppressing all the rising emotions.

"You want a divorce, fine! But today you must return my innocence."

"To Van, I'm not cowardly enough to accept the name of adultery and leave!"

I clutched the sticky note I always balled up in my hand and looked up at Luc Xuyen.

"First we have to find out who locked this door."

As soon as I finished speaking, a group of people in uniform walked in.

"Someone reported that there were people here who molested and acted like thugs."

“I want to see who is so bold!”

5. People from the Security Department finally arrived. I thought this matter would be forced down by Luc Xuyen, but unexpectedly someone still called out. The leader is Officer Chau, over forty years old, has a square face, and doesn't like to talk nonsense when working. He glanced around the house and the alley.

“Who reported the crime?”

I felt guilty and followed his gaze to look around. It was quiet inside and out, no one spoke. I understand, the person reporting the case does not want to suffer Luc Xuyen's wrath. In that case, I have to do this responsibility myself. No matter what, the initiative must be in my hands. I raised my hand.

"I."

Luc Xuyen's face was extremely ugly.

“Officer Chau, I will handle this matter myself.”

Officer Chau glanced at him.

"Battalion Commander Luc, outsiders appeared in the military dormitory, and there was also an incident where a soldier's wife was locked in a warehouse. It's not like you can just say something and solve it yourself."

Luc Xuyen did not speak again. Officer Chau turned to look at me.

“Tell me, how was the process?”

I gave him the note.

“Someone sent me a note this morning, saying something happened to Luc Xuyen.”

“When I arrived at the old warehouse, I smelled a strange smell, then fainted.”

“When I woke up, this man was lying next to me.”

“The room door is locked from the outside.”

"Lam Mieu led someone in and accused me of having an affair."

"Trieu Dai Cuong said I seduced him, but could not say the time and place of acquaintance, nor could he provide any evidence of any interaction."

After I finished speaking, I turned to look at Trieu Dai Cuong. Trieu Dai Cuong's face turned gray. Officer Chau asked him:

“How do you get into the military compound?”

“I… I walked in by myself.”

“Is the guard posted outside the gate registered?”

"Do not have."

Officer Chau looked at the young soldier standing at the door.

“Go outside the gate and check.”

The soldier quickly ran away. Officer Chau asked again:

“Who brought you in?”

Trieu Dai Cuong bowed his head.

"Nobody."
