Chapter 21 — Ex-Wife Takes Power

When he opened the door, he was already sitting inside. In front of him was a glass of undrinked wine, his head bowed, his expression unclear.

“Sit down.” He looked up, his voice much deeper than before.

I sat down and didn't order wine.

“If you have something to say, say it.”

He was silent for a few seconds. “Van Ninh.”

“I know, for the past two months, I've lost.”

"Whether it's the company, people's hearts, or outside public opinion, I lost everything. I didn't come to turn the odds."

I said nothing.

“But I want to tell you something.” He raised his head to look at me.

"About Tham Nhuoc Huyen, I admit I'm sorry to her. But she treated me honestly. She's not the type of person rumored outside."

I'm still waiting.

"You don't understand her. Half a year in Berlin, she took care of my life and helped me handle many things. She is sincere."

“Are you sure?”

“Sure.”

“Everyone says she's out for money, but I know she's not.”

I looked at him. His expression was sincere. So sincere that it makes people feel a little pitiful.

“Luc Canh Tham.”

“Yes.”

“I have a recording, do you want to listen?”

He froze. I took my phone and pressed the play button. Tham Nhuoc Huyen's voice came out from the phone, extremely clear.

“His wife is an idiot, doesn't know anything.”

“That piece of Hang Nghiep meat, I couldn't swallow it all, but taking a bite or two was no problem.”

“By the time Canh Tham wakes up, the money worth transferring will have already been transferred.”

The recording ends. The room was extremely quiet. I looked at him. His face under the light gradually lost its color. Without blinking, he stared at the table, the glass of wine still lying in the same position, not taking a sip.

“No way.” His voice was dry, like his throat was stuffed with sandpaper.

“The voice in the recording, don't you recognize it?”

He did not answer. Fingers slowly tighten and then release, repeating many times.

“She wouldn't do that.”

“She already did.” I coldly punctured his illusion.

"When you and she were admiring the snow in Berlin two months ago, she was discussing with others how to transfer money from Hang Nghiep out. She took pictures of the receipts for buying the jewelry you gave her and saved them one by one. Not as a souvenir, but as evidence of how much money she spent, so that she can easily account with you later."

"I believe she 'truly loves me'. But she said it herself, 'money is a very big reason'."

He finally looked up at me. His appearance right now is completely different from the man who hugged me at the airport and said "Just leave everything to me" three years ago.

“When did you get this recording?”

“It's not important. What's important is, now you know.”

"Are you planning to use this against me? Do you want to broadcast it to everyone at the shareholders' meeting?"

I stood up. "Are not."

“This recording is for only you to listen to.”

“Because rather than letting the whole world know that you were deceived, I'd rather let you know for yourself.”

“The feeling of being attacked by the two people you trust the most at the same time Betrayal, what is it like?

I picked up my bag.

“I have experienced it. So I understand.”

I pushed the door open and walked out. There was no sound from behind. Chapter 25 The next morning at ten o'clock. Extraordinary general meeting of shareholders. The large meeting room of Hang Nghiep Group was converted into a voting scene. The long table is double wide, the chairs are arranged in four rows. All shareholders and representatives holding more than 1% of shares were present, plus the legal department and notaries, filling the room.
