Chapter 9
Chapter 9 — Fire the Wrong Person, the Whole Company Pays
Co Hanh stood up and walked to the front of the stage.
“General Manager Ha, please.”
General Director Ha. Ha Vy's mind was blank for three seconds. Then her whole body stiffened in the chair. Deputy General Director of Thinh Hoa Group Research Center. Ha Van slowly walked onto the stage, nodded to Co Hanh and then turned to all the guests.
"Hi everybody."
“I am Ha Van of Thinh Hoa Group.”
“Today I came to attend Hoa Nhan's conference…”
“One is because of goodwill in the industry.”
“Secondly because…”
“I wanted to personally pay my respects to a technical talent.”
He leaned over and looked down at the auditorium.
“Miss Lam Thu.”
“Can I invite you on stage for a moment?”
The entire hall was silent for a second. I stood up from my seat. Step on stage. Tran Hao held the microphone and stood still in place, as if he had been nailed to death. Ha Van turned to the guests, his clear voice echoed throughout the hall.
“Maybe everyone knows…”
“Over the past three years, Hoa Nhan's six best-selling product lines have been the foundation that helps the company stand firm in the fiercely competitive market.”
“But the core formula of all six products…”
“It was all developed by Ms. Lam Thu alone.”
Suddenly, whispers rang out below.
“Not just that.”
Ha Van opened the file in his hand.
“Three years ago, Ms. Lam published a research paper on active stabilization systems.”
“This research paper has a huge impact in the industry.”
“The technology route she proposed has been referenced by many businesses.”
“The formulas of the six Hoa Nhan product lines…”
“It's about developing based on that technology line.”
He turned his head to look at Tran Hao.
“Director Tran.”
“How much do you understand about the technology of these formulas?”
Tran Hao's face turned red.
“I… of course I understand.”
“I am the research director…”
“Then I would like to ask one more question.”
Ha Van leisurely turned to the next document page.
“In the patent registration documents of these six product lines, the inventor all lists his name.”
“But from what we found out…”
“From original experiment notes, materials exchange emails, to initial research project reports…”
“It was all completed by Ms. Lam Thu.”
“Director Tran…”
“Is there some misunderstanding about this?”
The chatter in the auditorium immediately became louder. Distributors began to exchange with each other. The media area also had people holding up their phones to record. Tran Hao's hand holding the microphone began to visibly tremble.
“Th… this is not something you can say whatever you want…”
“Patent registration is a company's internal process…”
“That's right.”
Ha Van flipped to the last page and then directly held it up for the entire auditorium to see.
“So today I brought a copy of Ms. Lam Thu's original experiment notebook.”
“It has a handwritten signature and the date of the experiment clearly written on it.”
“Earliest book…”
“Fourteen months earlier than the patent registration date.”
He put down the file and looked at the entire auditorium.
“In the end, who is the real inventor…”
“Just look to understand.”
The microphone in Tran Hao's hand fell directly to the ground. The sound echoed through the speakers, spreading throughout the banquet hall. Ha Vy, under the stage, almost wanted to shrink and disappear on the spot. To Dao bit her lips tightly white, unable to say a word. Applause began to ring out from the first row of seats. At first it was sporadic. Then it gets thicker and thicker. Bigger and bigger. I stand on stage. Don't laugh. Didn't say thank you either. Just calmly looked at Tran Hao. He bowed his head. Sweat flowed from his neck down to his collar. This is just the beginning. Right on the day of the product announcement, the entire company's attitude completely changed. People who previously met me in the hallway didn't even bother to say hello... Now they actively nodded from afar. Those who followed To Dao in the company group to oppress me... all silently erased their chat history. Humans are like that. Tran Hao asked for sick leave for three days and did not come to the company. Ha Vy comes every day, but her whole body is curled up on her desk, almost non-existent. The calmest person is To Dao. The second day after the announcement, she found Co Hanh and brought up a copy of the "Market Risk Assessment Report". The focus of the report is only one: The company's core technology is overly dependent on individuals. Huge operational risk. Proposal to introduce an external research cooperation mechanism to disperse technical dependence. Co Hanh finished watching. Don't give attitude.
