Chapter 10
Chapter 10 — Forced to Peel Shrimps, I Smashed an Entire Family
But I underestimated human extremism, and even more underestimated Gu Dich's stubbornness. The first call came late one night, an unknown number, his voice sounded hoarse and cold.
“Khuong Hoa.”
I didn't answer and was about to hang up when he continued speaking, his voice was so monotonous that it was chilling.
“You destroyed me, destroyed my whole family.”
“I love you so much, it's just… I don't know what to do.”
“I'm your mother, you're my sister, what other choice do you have?”
"Why don't you just hold on a little longer? Just hold on a little bit and everything will be over."
“Why do we have to go to this extent?”
I just found it funny, his unreasonableness had exceeded all limits.
“Co Dich, are you calling just to say these words?”
“Okay, you're not wrong, it's all my fault, is that okay?”
“Don't contact me again in the future, otherwise I will report you to the authorities for harassment.”
After I finished speaking, I immediately hung up and blocked the number, but less than a minute later, another number called. I continued to hang up, continued to block, then the third number, the fourth number, in a row without stopping like someone out of control. Finally, a message appeared.
“You will regret it.”
“Khuong Hoa, this matter is not over yet.”
"You are my wife, for the rest of my life."
"If you can't have it, no one else should either."
"Khuong Hoa! Stop for me!"
"What are you running! I have something to say!"
Without turning around, I stepped on the accelerator and rushed out of the basement. The light outside rushed in, making me finally able to breathe. Looking through the rearview mirror, I saw him standing motionless at the door, his shadow lingering under the light, like a shadow that refused to go away. I didn't go home, but drove straight to the nearest police station, brought all the photos and threatening messages to them.
"He is my ex-husband. We just divorced. Before that, he sent threatening messages many times and today even blocked me at my residence."
“I feel my life is in serious danger.”
The police took it very seriously, immediately filed a case and announced that they would summon him to warn him.
"If the other person continues to follow or harass you, report it immediately."
Leaving the station, it was already dark, I called my father and told him everything that had just happened. Dad was silent for a few seconds then spoke very decisively.
“Don't go back to the apartment anymore, go home and live with your parents.”
“There are parents here, see what they dare to do to you.”
