Chapter 7
Chapter 7 — Forget Them All, We'll Live Better Again
A Dan walked in from outside the door, and behind him were two strange maids. Only then did Tong Dao truly realize that something was wrong.
“What do you want to do anyway?”
“I want to say a few words to my sister.”
“I have nothing to say to you.”
“But I do.”
I slowly sat up straight. A Dan put on his coat for me.
“Sister Bieu, that year the assassin was arranged by you, right?”
Tong Dao's pupils suddenly shrank.
“You talk nonsense.”
"After entering the capital, the martyr from Xiling hid in the caravan with your dowry. One day before the banquet, you sent someone to bring a jar of apricot wine to the ban guards guarding the door. That ban guard received a large amount of money and let people in."
Her face became whiter and whiter. We continue to say:
"Originally, the person you wanted to kill was me. I just didn't expect the assassin to be discovered by someone midway, so I could only hastily attack."
Tong Dao's lips trembled.
“How could you know?”
“Because I'm not stupid.”
I said softly:
"It's just that in the past I wanted to have a peaceful life so much, so I pretended not to see a lot of things."
Suddenly she laughed coldly.
"So what if I did it? If it weren't for you, the person who should have become the Regent Princess would have been me. All these years, the person next to big brother Hoai Nghien should have been me."
I looked at her and suddenly felt very tasteless. Until now. She still feels like the whole world owes her.
“Sister Bieu, do you know what I hate you the most?”
She stared at me.
"What I hate you most is that you clearly harmed me, yet I always feel like I'm the one being wronged."
Tong Dao's eye sockets turned red.
"Aren't I wronged? Since I was little, I've had to depend on others, have to look at other people's faces to live. Whatever I like, I have to get it, because if I don't get it, I'll have nothing!"
I shook my head.
“You're wrong.”
"It's not that you don't have one."
"But you already have it, you still want to steal my share."
Tong Dao was stunned. I coughed up a mouthful of blood. A Dan immediately cleaned it for me. Tong Dao instinctively took a step back, as if afraid of being caught in bad luck. I smiled slightly.
“Don't worry sister, I won't kill you.”
But she was even more afraid.
“What do you want to do anyway?”
I look at that incense lamp. The light burned quietly. The scent is so faint that it is almost impossible to smell.
"I can't find the antidote for cold tooth poison."
“But cold tooth poison has an accompanying remedy, called Vong Xuyen Huong.”
"If you smell it for 7 days, you will forget the past. If you smell it for 14 days, you will cut off the emotional base. If you smell it for a full month, the five feelings will gradually disappear, and the fire will self-burn."
Tong Dao's face turned pale. She suddenly covered her mouth and nose with her hand. I said softly:
“It's late.”
“In the past few days, you and Luc Hoai Nghien have both come to my hospital.”
“He has been with me the longest, and my sister is not much less.”
Tong Dao shouted: I nodded.
"That's right."
“I was forced to go crazy by you guys.”
Tong Dao ran away. She ran so hard that she didn't even have the heart to pick up her lost cloak. When Luc Hoai Nghien woke up, it was already midnight. As soon as he opened his eyes and saw me, he was first bewildered, then suddenly sat up.
“Did I fall asleep?”
I said "yes" once. He regretfully said:
“I originally wanted to stay by your side and watch her."
"No problem."
I look at him.
“Luc Hoai Nghien, do you remember the apple tree in the backyard of the old building?”
He paused a bit.
"He once said, wait until the apples are ripe and pick them for me yourself."
He was silent for a long time.
“Later... I forgot.”
I smiled.
“Yes, you always forget.”
In his eyes, waves of pain rolled.
“Tri Vi, when your body is better, I will take you back to the old building. I have had people repair that place, the apple tree is still there."
It seemed he was afraid I would change my mind, so he immediately grabbed my hand tightly.
“Really?”
I nodded. Either way, we won't go back there again. Leaving him a little hope is also my last bit of mercy. At midnight that night, the poison in his body was violently active. The pain crawled out from every bone, like countless ants were biting.
