Chapter 1
Chapter 1 — From A Joke To A Love
When I was little, my childhood friend loved to secretly look at my diary. To teach him a lesson, I secretly wrote in my diary: "My mother told me that in fact, Co Tran Nien and I are both children born to her. It was only because Co Tran Nien was so naughty that he was sent to Uncle Co's house. Uncle Co is a police officer and can control him..." From that day on, Co Tran Nien's attitude towards me changed completely. I also let me eat delicious food first, and let me play with toys first. If someone bullies me, he will fight back for me. He protects me like a younger sister. When I graduated from high school, a guy in my class confessed his love to me. The whole class cheered, but Co Tran Nien quietly left. He drank until he was drunk and even caused chaos on the side of the road. I ran to look for him but he pushed me away: "I don't deserve you to treat me so well!" Co Tran Nien's eyes looked at me full of indescribable sadness: "I actually like my own sister, I'm such a bad person!" I: "???" 1 During the summer vacation after the university entrance exam, everyone played freely. Even though they have graduated, the class is still as bustling as ever. Everyone discussed organizing the last gathering before starting school, the location was chosen at a rustic restaurant that the whole class often went to. My best friend texted me and asked: "How did you go then? Can I ride my bike to pick you up?" I replied: "No need, Co Tran Nien will ride his bike to take me there." Tong Du pouted: "Not to mention other things, your childhood and childhood really make people jealous." She started telling each story of my three years of high school with him: "Not only is he handsome, she takes you to school every morning and pours you hot water." "If you're sick, the first person to take you to the infirmary will be by your side and never leave your side." "When my class finished late, he waited forever, then brought you home safely. Every year on your birthday, he prepared a gift for you..." Tong Du sighed: "It's so admirable." I was a bit proud, but my mouth remained humble: "It's not that bad." … Co Tran Nien and I have known each other since we were six years old. We lived next door and went to kindergarten together. Both parents are very close and often go back and forth. As time passed, Co Tran Nien and I became best friends, never leaving even half a step. But he is also mischievous sometimes, likes to pull my braided hair, and often hides away to scare me. I was scared to cry, he was dragged back to school by his mother. I heard his mother say: “Don't bully your sister!” Co Tran Nien clearly knew he was wrong, but still argued: "If you're not your younger brother, why can't you bully him?" In his opinion at that time, only people born from the same mother were true biological sisters. Just like that, we played and argued until the third grade of elementary school. Co Tran Nien had another bad habit. He likes to sneak a look at my diary. Not only do I watch it, but I also like to tell the stories I write to others. I was so angry that I went crazy. Decided to teach him a lesson. So I secretly wrote the following passage in my diary: "Today my mother told me a secret. Actually, Co Tran Nien and I are both her children. He is a little older than me, my brother. But he is too naughty, mother can't control him, so she sent him to Uncle Co - a very strict police officer..." "Mother said, Uncle Co and Aunt Ly considered him as their own son, so this secret absolutely cannot be let Co Tran Nien know. Even if he finds out later, people won't admit it. Sigh, I really didn't expect that Co Tran Nien was my biological brother..." Sure enough, Co Tran Nien secretly read the diary. That day during class, he hung his soul upside down on a tree branch, and was punished by the teacher with a slap on the palm of his hand. {Read full on Van Ha's love page} On the way home, he didn't say a word, only occasionally sneaking glances at me with very complicated eyes. However, the effect of the diary was very clear. Co Tran Nien began to consider me a younger brother. Not only did she bring me food and drinks, but she also "dealt with" the boys who bullied me. Acting like an adult, she patted her chest and assured: "An Dao, don't worry, I will protect you in the future!" 2 I guess, just a month or two later, Co Tran Nien found out about me using my diary to tease him. Anyway, it only takes a little IQ to realize that this is just a naughty joke. However, Co Tran Nien did not come to me to settle the matter. On the contrary, he considers protecting and taking care of me as a habit. And that habit lasted for many years. From elementary school, to middle school, then high school. Becoming my very own childhood friend, making everyone admire me. Co Tran Nien was not in the same class as me in high school. That day, he rode his bike to take me to the meeting place: "Remember to text me when it's over, I'll come pick you up." I took off my helmet and gave it to him: "Yes." The weather that day was quite sunny, Co Tran Nien also took off his helmet and ran his hand through his sweaty hair. His skin is very white, his peachy eyes are slightly slanted, always giving off a peachy and romantic feeling. The sunlight shone on his face, making him squint slightly. He was just about to leave when a few boys in my class saw him. The whole group enthusiastically ran towards him, dragging him into the bag room. "What's so polite? Everyone knows it!" "That's right, although Co Tran Nien is in the class next door, she has passed through my class so many times that everyone knows!" Co Tran Nien was not a shy person. Seeing what they said, he did not leave and calmly sat down with everyone. After graduating, it seems like everyone has grown up in the blink of an eye. Or at least try to appear that way. Everyone ordered a case of beer, drank and chatted loudly. Co Tran Nien quietly blocked all the beer cans others gave me. "She's not yet eighteen and can't drink alcohol yet." And he drank one glass after another. I reminded him: "Aren't you going to ride your bike back later?" “Take a taxi.” “Then let's drink less.” Co Tran Nien smiled lightly: "I know, you're really talkative." By the end of the gathering, the atmosphere changed from lively to somewhat quiet and emotional. The class president said: “This may be the last time in our lives that some of us will see each other. If anyone has anything else to say, just say it, don't leave any regrets." I was immersed in the atmosphere of separation when the lights in the room suddenly went out. I jumped in panic and reflexively grabbed Co Tran Nien's hand. He patted the back of my hand and said in a low voice: "It's okay." The next moment, someone walked in carrying a cake and flowers. Even though the light in the room was dim, I could still clearly see that person's face. It's my deskmate - Hua Nhien. His ears turned red and he placed a birthday cake with sparkling candles in front of me: "An Dao, even though your birthday isn't here yet, I still want to wish you a happy birthday first." I looked at him blankly. But Co Tran Nien quietly let go of my hand. "An Dao, if you agree, when my actual birthday comes, I also want to celebrate it with you." “Oh my~” Everyone around started shouting and cheering. That encouragement seemed to give Hua Nhien more courage. He held the bouquet of flowers in front of me: "I like you, do you agree to be my girlfriend?" I was pulled up by a few girlfriends, facing Hua Nhien. In that moment, my mind was completely blank. Reflexively, I looked at Co Tran Nien - But discovered that he had already left the room. Don't even say a word to me.
