Chapter 2
Chapter 2 — From A Joke To A Love
3 When I found Co Tran Nien, he was squatting on the side of the road, looking up at the street ahead, but his eyes were lifeless, clearly lost. In his hand he also held a can of beer. I walked over: "What are you doing? I've been looking for you for half a day." Co Tran Nien raised his head to look at me, squinted his eyes, confirmed it was me, then looked down again. Don't say a word. You're so strange like that. I also sat down and poked his cheek: "Let's go, let's go home." I pulled his hand to help him up: "Why did you drink so much? If you get drunk, you'll have a headache the next day. When you get home, remember to drink some honey water, it'll feel a little better. If you still feel uncomfortable, remember to call me, I'll go buy you hangover medicine..." But Co Tran Nien forcefully pushed my hand away. I took a few steps back, looking at him in surprise. Then he also started to get angry: "What exactly are you doing that is called alcohol madness?!" Co Tran Nien raised his hand and rubbed his face vigorously: "I don't need your concern." The voice lowered: "I don't deserve... for you to treat me so well." I blurted out and asked: "Why?" Co Tran Nien raised his head to look at me, his eyes were sad and indescribable: "You like your own sister... You're such a bastard!" I: "?" At that moment, dozens of thoughts appeared in my mind. Shocked, confused, confused... Finally, I remembered the diary I wrote in third grade to tease him. I looked at him, then pointed to my temple: "Co Tran Nien, this place of yours... is there a problem?" Such an obvious joke and yet he believed it for so many years... I remember when he was a child he had a high fever once. But Co Tran Nien couldn't hear what I was saying. He was just engrossed in tormenting himself: "You're a bastard... you're a bastard..." I held back my laughter and lightly kicked him: "Hey! I lied to you about that year's diary!" Yet Co Tran Nien did not move. I looked down - He lowered his head and fell asleep. 4 I couldn't drag him alone, so I asked some of my classmates to help me take him home. When I returned home, I was exhausted. Lying flat on the sofa, but my mind was strangely excited. I recall another important keyword besides Co Tran Nien's "stupid" incident — "Like." He said, he likes me. I hugged my pillow tightly, so excited that my legs kicked wildly on the chair. Actually, I like him too. Co Tran Nien is handsome, from childhood to adulthood he always protected me and always treated me well. How can I not be moved? Actually, I have already decided. Before entering college, I will definitely confess my love to him. Unexpectedly, before he could confess his love, he already knew his intentions. I prepared to go find him the next day and explain everything. I don't know why time passes so slowly... Early the next morning, I ran to Co Tran Nien's house. Uncle Co is preparing to go to work: "Dao Dao is here so early?" I was a little embarrassed: "Uncle, is Co Tran Nien awake yet?" “That's strange, he also woke up early today and is in his room.” “Then let me go find him!” He nodded, took the key and left home to go to work. I walked to the door of Co Tran Nien's room, my heart involuntarily beating a little faster. I took a few deep breaths, trying to adjust my emotions. Just as I was about to raise my hand to knock on the door, Co Tran Nien's voice rang out inside. Looks like... he's on the phone. “I was so drunk last night, I don't remember what happened.” “Tsk, terrible headache.” I just thought about last night's scene and found it funny. Co Tran Nien's voice was a bit hoarse: "An Dao will take you home." "Don't talk nonsense, I'm not like you think about her. I just consider her my sister." I blinked a few times, the smile on my lips gradually disappeared. Co Tran Nien continued to say: "To be honest, my ideal type is the type of a beautiful and attractive sister. An Dao is still just a little girl, completely unattractive to me. How could I have any other thoughts about her?" "Sigh, it's so annoying. I was drunk last night. I don't know if I said anything random. But what I say when I'm drunk is always promiscuous. If someone recorded it, I'd lose face." Just a few short sentences... Has soothed all my shaking emotions all night. I stood bewildered in front of Co Tran Nien's room door. I can barely distinguish which sentences are real and which are fake. But what he just said made me angry. At this point, I don't want to see him anymore. I gingerly left the door, intending to return home. But suddenly there was a "click" sound from behind - the door opened. Co Tran Nien yawned and walked out. When he saw me standing in the living room, he froze: "Why are you here?" I glared at him, still echoing in my mind the disgusted tone he had just called. “An Dao is just a little girl, not at all attractive…” “You can't have any thoughts about her…” There's no attraction at all… I took a deep breath, forcing out a seemingly natural smile. “I have something to ask you.” Co Tran Nien raised his hand to scratch his messy hair, the corners of his lips curled up: "Say it." "I have accepted Hua Nhien's confession, now he is my boyfriend." I deliberately bowed my head and pretended to be embarrassed: "I want to give him a gift, but I don't know what to give... I'm a guy, can you give me some suggestions?" The smile at the corner of Co Tran Nien's lips stopped. But in just a moment, he quickly restored his normal appearance. Yawning as he walked into the bathroom, he replied lazily: "Buy anything, if he really likes you, then he will be happy with whatever you give him." "OH." I looked at his face, unable to find any unusual expression. Inside, the feeling of disappointment gradually spread. It seems that the words he said last night on the side of the road were indeed just drunk words. Thinking back, it's true - how could I fool anyone with my naive joke as a child? Co Tran Nien is not stupid. In addition to disappointment, I also had a bit of incomprehensible luck in my heart - Luckily, I didn't rush into the room to confess my love to him. You don't like me. If we are rejected, perhaps it will be difficult for us to even be friends. “Okay, I'll go home first.” I said one sentence, then turned and left his house. I walked too fast — Didn't hear the clinking sound coming from the bathroom, when the things on the sink clattered to the floor. 5 I don't bother to worry too long. Less than a few days later, I asked my best friend Tong Du out on a date. After graduating from high school, we girls can finally dress freely. I tried wearing light makeup and a short skirt and off-the-shoulder shirt that I didn't dare wear when I was in school. As soon as I walked out the door, I bumped into Co Tran Nien who was carrying trash from outside. He wore an old man's tank top, slippers, and his hair was messy like intentionally creating an "improvised" style. Looking up to see me, he was stunned. I was a bit nervous, but tried to act natural, gently flipping my curled hair. "What are you looking at? If you want to call me pretty, just say so." Co Tran Nien looked at me with confusion: "Where are you going?" I reflexively replied: "I'm going..." Halfway through the sentence, I suddenly realized - What is Co Tran Nien to me that I have to report where I'm going? "I don't mind you worrying about where you go!" Having said that, I sang and strode out of the building. Co Tran Nien called out from behind: "An Dao! Are you going on a date with Hua Nhien?!" He aggressively chased after me, stood in front of me, and took several deep breaths. Then gritted his teeth and asked: "So... when will you come back?" “Don't know yet.” I shrugged, "Let's go home if I get bored playing." Because of the shoulder shrugging action, the off-the-shoulder shirt fell down a little more. Co Tran Nien reacted quickly and pulled my shirt back up. I felt that he was very strange: "What's wrong with you?" "No problem." Co Tran Nien forced a forced smile, "Go home early, if you dare not come home overnight, I will tell your parents." I rolled my eyes: "Snitch." “No more talking, I have an appointment, I'm going to be late.” Having finished speaking, I pushed him aside, took a taxi and left.
