The other end of the line was silent for two seconds.

"Master Tham, I really want to invite you."

"I refuse."

"But the list has already been announced."

I looked at the line of patients lining up outside the window.

"Then take it back."

Lam Tu Ngang says:

"It can't be recovered anymore. Investors have already seen it."

"Which investor?"

He paused for a moment.

"Minh Hop Capital."

My hand stopped slightly. Tieu Dao looked at me.

"Doctor Tham?"

On the other end of the line, Lam Tu Ngang lowered his voice.

"Master Tham, the person in charge of Minh Hop Capital personally wants to meet you."

"No see."

"He said... his last name is Co."

My eyes wavered slightly. Lam Tu Ngang continued:

"He also said, the contract in Kinh Chau seven years ago... I still owe him an answer."

I hung up. Tieu Dao cautiously asked:

"Doctor Tham, who is Mr. Co?"

I put my phone in my pocket.

"A problem."

Afternoon after work. In front of the clinic door was parked a black sedan. The glass door slowly lowered. The man sat in the back row, neatly dressed, with a calm demeanor.

"Tham Thanh Ninh."

I stood on the steps.

"Co Nghien Chu."

He smiled softly.

"We haven't seen each other for seven years. It's still so difficult to invite you."

Tieu Dao stood behind me and took a breath.

"Isn't that General Director Co of Minh Hop Capital?"

Co Nghien Chu looked over at her.

"Can I say a few words to Dr. Tham in private now?"

I replied immediately:

"Impossible."

I'm not angry either.

"Then I'll just say one thing."

He handed over a file of documents.

"I have invested thirty million yuan in the outpatient clinic. The only condition is that you be the person in charge."

I don't accept.

"I'm not short of work."

"I know."

Co Nghien Chu looked at me.

"What I lack is a chance to make Trinh Vy never raise her head again."

I turned around and left. Behind him, his voice was still monotonous.

"She contacted the superiors of the medical station where I worked, accusing me and Lam Tu Ngang of having a secret transaction."

My steps stopped. Co Nghien Chu continued:

"Tomorrow morning there will be an interdisciplinary appraisal team."

"She will bring someone to investigate you."

I turned my head.

"How do you know?"

Co Nghien Chu put the documents back.

"Because the person she's looking for... coincidentally still owes me a meal."

I looked at him.

"What do you want?"

The smile on Co Nghien Chu's lips faded.

"I want you to sign the unfinished cooperation agreement that year."

"Co Nghien Chu."

I said calmly.

"I don't make billboards for anyone."

"Then be the boss."

He handed the documents back to me.

"Tham Thanh Ninh, you have saved many people."

"This time... save yourself."

The next morning. Just as Co Nghien Chu said, the appraisal team has arrived. The leader is Vice President Bach, Trinh Vy's cousin. Trinh Vy stood next to him. His eyes were still red, but on his face was an innocent look of self-pity.

"Mr. Bach, I'm just worried that there's something wrong with the process."

Vice President Bach nodded.

"We will check according to regulations."

The clinic director smiled politely.

"Of course."

Trinh Vy looked at me.

"Thanh Ninh, don't blame me. I'm just afraid that you will be taken advantage of by others."

I calmly replied:

"Every time you hurt someone, do you have to pretend to be a good person first?"

The nurses in the lobby bowed their heads and laughed. Trinh Vy gritted her teeth. Deputy head Bach tapped on the table.

"Doctor Tham, pay attention to what you say. Currently, someone is accusing you of colluding with social capital and taking advantage of old relationships to seek position."

"Where's the evidence?"

Trinh Vy immediately took out a stack of pre-printed papers.

"This is a list of preparations for establishing an outpatient examination center."

"This is a letter of intent to invest from Minh Hop Capital."

"Your name is on the front page."

Vice President Bach looked at me.

"Explain."

Before I could open my mouth, Co Nghien Chu walked in. Following him were two assistants, each holding a thick stack of documents.

"I will explain."

Trinh Vy's face immediately changed. Vice President Bach stood up.

"General Manager Co?"

Co Nghien Chu nodded slightly.

"Vice Director Bach, it's been hard."

He placed the stack of documents on the table.

"All legal documents related to Minh Hop Capital's investment in the outpatient clinic are here."

Saying that, he turned to look at me.

"And doctor Tham Thanh Ninh..."

"She's not a recruit."

Trinh Vy quickly said:

"It's clearly written on the list!"

Co Nghien Chu turned to the last page.

"That's the old version."

"The new version is here."

Deputy Director Bach bent down to look, his face immediately changed. Ms. Hua also stopped by to see.

"Co-founder?"

Tieu Dao suyt nua het len.

"Bac si Tham... la ba chu?"

Co Nghien Chu calmly said:

"Seven years ago, Dr. Tham Thanh Ninh participated in the Kinh Chau Public Benefit Clinic Project and was one of the people who built the initial plan."

"She didn't sign her name that year just because her family was having trouble."

Trinh Vy still doesn't believe it.

"A community clinic doctor like her...how could..."

Co Nghien Chu interrupted.

"Miss Trinh."

"The four words 'community clinic doctor' are not a tool for you to demean others."
