Chapter 3
Chapter 3 — Hao Mon Swap
I carried my schoolbag and walked towards the bus stop. Hua Vien Vien chased after me, "Are you really taking the bus? I'm going with you, my family also takes the same route." Lam Tri Ha said from behind: "Thua Da, he didn't deliberately come back to tell stories, did he?" Luc Thua Da's voice was languid, "It's sure." I didn't turn back. The bus station is very crowded. Hua Vien Vien stood next to me and whispered: "Don't be sad. Luc Thua Da has a very bad temper, and Lam Tri Ha is like protecting her food." I looked at my friend, "Aren't you afraid of him?" “Afraid.” The girl clutched her school bag to her chest, "But today he mentioned the orphanage, I couldn't hear it. My mother once said that cursing someone else's background is the most uncultured." The bus is here. We had just gotten in the car when the phone rang. On the screen is a series of strange numbers. I picked up the phone. On the other end of the line was the voice of an older man, "Tieu Duong, it's me, Uncle Qin. I found the manuscript I needed." I glanced at Hua Vien Vien, leaned over, "Please keep it safe, don't let others touch it." Uncle Tan said: "Someone wants to buy it at a high price." I said: “Not for sale.” “So when will you come pick it up?” “When are you free?” I hung up. Hua Vien Vien blinked and looked at me, "Who is that?" “The former manager of the orphanage.” “What is a manuscript?” “An old cookbook.” The girl was dumbfounded, "There are people who pay high prices for cookbooks?" I said: “There are people who like old things.” Outside the car window, a black Bentley passed us. Luc Thua Da sat in the back row and just happened to see me. He looked at me through the car window, like he was looking at a cat that liked to be stubborn and forceful. I turned away. Returning to the Luc family, Mrs. Luc was sitting in the living room waiting for me. The driver stood to one side, bowing his head low. Luc Thua Da sat on the sofa, but Lam Tri Ha was also present. Mrs. Luc said, "Ning Duong, why don't you take the family car?" I said: "Luc Thua Da told me not to sit." Luc Thua Da immediately said: "I just said it casually, he walked on his own and thought it was true." Lam Tri Ha continued, "Auntie, Thua Da's mouth is just that bad. Ninh Duong has just arrived, maybe he doesn't understand him well yet." Mrs. Luc looked at me, "Look, everyone knows it's just a joke. Ninh Duong, the family talks to each other, don't be too thoughtful." I asked: "If you told Luc Thua Da to go back to the orphanage, would that be a joke?" Luc Thua Da stood up, "Can you repeat that?" Mrs. Luc's face darkened, "Ning Duong." Lam Tri Ha quickly took Lady Luc's hand, "Auntie, don't be angry. Maybe Ninh Duong is suffering on the outside, but inside she has resentment." I looked at her, "I'm taking the bus home, I won't suffer. Luc Thua Da told me to go back to the orphanage, it's not like just two sentences of explanation on your behalf can turn into a joke." Lam Tri Ha was speechless. Mrs. Luc put down her teacup, "That's enough." Her voice was not loud, everyone in the living room kept their mouths shut. “Ning Duong, I took you back, not for you to compete with Thua Da.” “I know.” "Since you know, you should understand that the Luc family gives you food, clothing, shelter, a school and a future, you must learn to be grateful." I nodded, “I will be grateful.” Luc Thua Da sneered, "It sounds like you're memorizing a lesson." Mrs. Luc said: "Starting tonight, you will move to a small room on the third floor. Your old room is near Thua Da's game room, so conflicts between the two of you can easily arise." Butler Chu raised his head, "Madam, the room on the third floor is next to the junk room, the lighting is not very good." Lady Luc glanced at him. Butler Chu immediately bowed his head, "I'll send someone to clean up right away." Lam Tri Ha said softly: "Auntie, you just want the house to be quiet." I said: “Yes.” Mrs. Luc seemed to not expect me to agree so quickly, "Ning Duong, don't hold on to your rebellious feelings." “I don't have it.” I looked at butler Chu, "Now go pack your things." As he walked to the top of the stairs, Luc Thua Da called from behind: "Is it okay to be so obedient so soon?" I stopped walking. The sixth wife
n asked: “Is there anything else?” I turned around, "Madam, what time is my entrance exam tomorrow?" Mrs. Luc was stunned, "Nine o'clock in the morning." "After the exam, if your score is not good, the lady can take you back to the orphanage." Mrs. Luc's face changed, "Who said they would take you home?" I said: "Luc Thua Da said it twice today." Luc Thua Da swore loudly, "Stop using me as cannon fodder." I looked at Mrs. Luc, "If my results are good, can I change back to my old room?" The living room suddenly became quiet. Mrs. Luc rubbed the lid of her teacup, gently rubbing it twice. “Do you want to make terms with me?” "It's not a condition, it's a proof that you didn't come here to be a freeloader." Lam Tri Ha smiled softly, "Ning Duong, the entrance test of Nhat Trung Hai Thanh school is very difficult. Today you just happened to know how to do a math problem, it doesn't represent anything."
