Chapter 17
Chapter 17 — Hiding for Five Years, One Night Becomes Legend
“Damn, these guys aren't ordinary robbers.” Sledgehammer stared at the screen, "Those are professionals."
Thiet Son was discussing with the field commander. Five minutes later, he returned with a floor plan of the building.
"The situation is as follows. 5-storey building. The kidnappers are divided into 3 groups - 8 main forces to watch over the hostages in the main lobby, 4 to control the high point on the second floor, 2 to be on duty in basement B1 right next to the electrical cabinet."
“Electrical cabinet?”
“Once we attack, they will cut off the electricity. And detonate bombs in the dark.”
I gritted my teeth.
“What about time?”
"They gave us 14 hours, now we have 11 and a half hours left. But boss Thiet Son has a hunch that —" Lightning opened a data string, "Their communication frequency had a jump 2 hours ago. They most likely activated a backup countdown plan."
“What does that mean?”
“That means they won't wait for 14 hours. They can detonate at any time.”
Damn it. Thiet Son spread out the drawing. “The plan is as follows —” His finger pointed to 3 locations on the drawing.
“Step 1: Lightning remotely takes control of the shopping center's electrical system, ensuring the two guys in basement B1 cannot lose power.”
“Step 2: Viper and Ghost sneak through the ventilation pipe, and at the same time approach the 4 load-bearing pillars, cutting off the detonation circuit.”
“Step 3: Like to occupy a position on the 23rd floor of the office building opposite, responsible for accurately shooting down 4 people at the 2nd floor high point.”
“Step 4 —”
He looked at me and Sledgehammer.
“Main hall. Eight men with guns. 300 hostages. You two, sweep head-on.”
Sledgehammer glanced at me. I glanced back at him. Eight professional mercenaries with automatic weapons. 300 hostages. Request no casualties.
“It can be done.” I spoke up.
Tay Hammer clicked his tongue: "You can do it, just say it, I haven't accepted."
“Have you ever refused a face-to-face beating mission?”
He thought for two seconds. Then grinned.
“Not yet. Let's go.”
【Chapter 16】 3:11 am. Everything is in place. Lightning's fingers typed quickly on the keyboard. He had gained control of the building's electrical system — the two guards in the basement would have no idea that the electrical switch in front of them was now nothing more than junk. Viper and Ghost have entered the ventilation duct. These two people work extremely well together. The Ghost is busy navigating the way — scouting, clearing obstacles, marking routes. The Venomous Snake carries out its mission — cutting the rope. Four C4 blocks on four bearing columns. Four detonation circuits. It is imperative to completely cut it off before Sledgehammer and I take action. Otherwise, once the kidnappers detect unusual signs, their first reaction will be to press the detonation button.
“The Phantom is in position. First column, confirm detonation circuit.”
“The Viper is in position. Start cutting.”
The sound in the headphones is extremely quiet. I lay down at the entrance to the fire escape on the west side of the building, adjusting my breathing. The Sledgehammer was right next to him, looming like a mountain of meat. It's rare for him to be so quiet.
“Stressed?” I asked.
“Rumor.” He whispered, "In the past, we always went to attack foreign targets. This time it was domestic. 300 of our compatriots were there."
I nodded. “So there are no mistakes allowed.”
“So absolutely no.”
Three minutes later.
“First circuit already cut."
“The second circuit has been cut.”
“The third circuit has been cut.”
“Fourth circuit —” Viper's voice paused for a beat.
Everyone's heart missed half a beat.
“Cut. Four circuits complete the whole.”
I breathed a long sigh of relief.
“Like?”
“Get into position. Target locked. Ready to shoot.”
“Good.” Thiet Son's voice rang out one last time, "All teams listen to orders - 3, 2, 1 - Attack."
Thich's throwing knife arrived first. Not one. Which is four children. Roll out at the same time.
