Chapter 11 — I Don't Need The House You Returned

"After I have money, I will change to a larger place."

“What if I still have no money?”

“Then I will think of a way to make this small room comfortable.”

He raised his hand to stroke the bed sheet.

“I don't think it's small.”

“I'm just afraid mom will give it to someone else too.”

My heart suddenly tightened.

"No."

“This is my room.”

“Unless you agree.”

“No one can decide for you.”

It nodded. A moment later, he suddenly said:

“I won't come back today.”

“I want to be here.”

That evening, Ha Dinh Chau came to pick him up. Ha Du An stood behind me.

“Dad, I'll sleep with mom tonight.”

Ha Dinh Chau does not force. Just look at me.

“Did you tell the boy about Lam Man going to training?”

“It was her daughter who said.”

He frowned.

“Children don't understand adult things.”

“Have you seen Lam Man's training contract?”

“She said half a year.”

"Her daughter said she would rarely come back from now on."

“What did you promise her anyway?”

Ha Dinh Chau was silent. Just that little bit of silence is enough.

“I didn't ask.”

“I just asked her when to leave.”

“But don't ask when I'll be back.”

“She has her own career.”

“If the training results are good, they may stay in Nam Thanh to develop.”

He finally admitted.

“The two children can still continue to stay in the house.”

“I will hire someone to take care of me.”

“I won't.”

“You'll let me take care of it.”

“Because in your eyes, I will eventually return.”

Ha Dinh Chau looked at me.

“Du An is still at home.”

“If I don't come back, what will the boy do?”

“I'm preparing a new house for my child.”

“Kieu Tinh Dao.”

His voice was low.

“Do you think letting your child live in a small place like this is good for him?”

“What I can give him is much more than you.”

“Housing, schools, living conditions.”

“What do you have to fight with me?”

Ha Du An tightened his grip on my shirt. I gently patted the boy's hand.

“Just by saying I won't take your child's room to arrange for someone else's child to stay.”

Ha Dinh Chau's face stiffened.

“Before Lam Man leaves, there will be a farewell meal at home.”

“Mom will come too.”

"Go back, we'll explain everything clearly."

Maybe he didn't expect me to agree.

“Next Saturday night.”

“I will come.”

“But not to go back.”

On Saturday, I arrived at the old Western-style house half an hour early. The door lock password has been changed to Ha Du An's birthday. I didn't enter my password. But ring the doorbell. Aunt Dao opened the door. Auntie has left the Ha family and has been helping me at the store these past few days. I came back today to help pack up my things. Behind her are two porters. As soon as Ha Dinh Chau saw them, his face immediately became ugly.

“What are you bringing people here for?”

“Move things.”

“Your clothes have been brought back to the master bedroom.”

“I'm not there.”

“The baking room has also been restored.”

"I know."

“My stuff isn't much.”

“Transfer all at once today.”

In the living room, Ha's mother and several relatives of the Ha family were sitting. Lam Man wore a bright long dress, the twins leaned close to her. On the dining table was placed a farewell cake. The scene resembles a warm family gathering. Ha's mother was the first to speak.

“Tinh Dao, you've been making trouble for so long and that's enough.”

“Dinh Chau had the room above repaired for me floor."

“Lam Man has also moved to the living room.”

“She will leave tomorrow.”

“What else do you want?”

I placed the court's notice of accepting the case on the table.

“I want a divorce.”

The living room immediately fell silent. Ha Dinh Chau picked up the document, his face changed.

“Did you really apply?”

“The lawyer has contacted you.”

“I thought you were just threatening me.”

“So you never really listen to what I say.”

Ha's mother slammed her hand on the table.

“Just because of a baking room, do you want to destroy your child's home?”

“It's not just a room.”

“So what is it?”

"It's your son who agreed to take care of Lam Man's two children on my behalf."

Lam Man spoke up with red eyes.

“Tinh Dao, I never asked you to take care of the children.”

I looked at her.

“Who submits the application for joint care at school?”

“It's Dinh Chau.”

“Is the signature on the power of attorney signed by you?”

She said nothing.

“After you arrive at Nam Thanh, who will pick up the children?”

“There is a driver.”

“Who cares at night?”

“There is a maid in the house.”

“Who participates in school activities?”

"When Dinh Chau is free, he will go."

“What if he's not available?”

Lam Man bit her lips tightly.

“Tinh Dao, why do you have to ask these things in front of the children?”

“Because all of your arrangements are built on the premise that I will return.”

“I tell you now.”

“I won't go back.”

“Your child, you are responsible.”
