Chapter 2
Chapter 2 — I'm an Orphan, So Where Did My Mother Come From?
The police had not yet arrived, but Chu Man Man quickly told the other students to leave the meeting room first. I didn't move. I took a photo of the entire petition on the table, then turned to the list of evidence. The first piece of evidence is the so-called “Mother-Daughter Co-Management Agreement.” It clearly states: Tuong Hong Mai voluntarily handed over 1,800,000 yuan of retirement money to his daughter Hua Tri Nam to manage, to use for family activities. Hua Tri Nam is not allowed to arbitrarily use this money for the purpose of studying abroad. Below is a signature. Hua Tri Nam. Looking at that signature, the corners of my lips turned cold. The word "Nam" in my name, the last stroke is always raised. The word "Nam" on this piece of paper is round and soft, looking like it was cut from a scan and then enlarged. The second piece of evidence is a copy of my bank account balance confirmation. The balance is exactly 1,800,000 yuan. The blockade period is until September 10. I have only given this piece of paper to one place. Khai Do Studying Abroad. The third piece of evidence is a photocopy of my citizen identification card. The fourth piece of evidence is a copy of the household registration deletion file and documents certifying that my parents have passed away. At this point, my finger stopped. Not everyone who wants to get these things can get them. When applying for an F-1 visa, in order to explain the origin of my assets, I submitted all of my parents' death allowance documents, insurance compensation documents, and the orphanage's guardianship certificate to Chu Man Man. At first I just wanted her to check the records. But now, all those documents appeared in the hands of a strange old woman. I raised my head to look at Chu Man Man.
“I just sent this balance confirmation to you.”
Chu Man Man's eyes suddenly wavered.
“Don't slander.”
“How would I know who you sent it to?”
I turned over the balance confirmation paper and pointed to the light gray scan code in the lower right corner.
“This is the code exported from your system.”
“QT-BJ-visa-0719.”
“The file in my mailbox also has the same name.”
Chu Man Man's face immediately became ugly. Tuong Hong Mai quickly snatched the papers back and stuffed them all into her bag.
“Stop talking about useless things!”
“You only need to answer one question, will the money be paid or not?”
I calmly replied:
“This money is proof of my finances for studying abroad.”
“The origin is completely clear.”
"Including my parents' allowance for sacrifices while on duty, allowance from my work unit, commercial insurance, scholarships for children of martyrs, and the money I saved after three years of working."
“It doesn't concern you even a single penny.”
Tuong Hong Mai rushed straight in front of me, raised her hand to grab my hair. I took a step back. Chu Man Man immediately stood in the middle. It seemed like he was discouraging, but each sentence was aimed directly at me.
"Tri Nam, he's old, it's normal to be excited."
“You should show some goodwill.”
"He asked for 1,800,000 yuan. If you can't get it right away, you can pay 300,000 yuan in advance."
I burst out laughing because I was angry.
“You even bargained for her, right?”
Chu Man Man frowned.
“I'm helping you.”
“Getting involved in a lawsuit and then leaving the country is very troublesome.”
"I'm about to fly to America. If the school knows I'm having this type of family dispute, it won't be good for me."
“Don't fight because of temporary anger change the future.”
I put the phone on the table. The recording screen is still on.
“Chu Manman.”
“I recorded everything you just said.”
“You're using studying abroad and visas to force me to transfer money, right?”
Her expression immediately changed.
“Hua Tri Nam, don't slander me!”
“I'm just giving advice!”
I looked straight into her eyes.
“Then I also have some advice for you.”
“Call the person in charge here immediately.”
“Bring out my entire file retrieval history.”
“There are also cameras monitoring the meeting room.”
“Who saw my citizen ID, who printed the balance confirmation, who touched my parents' sacrifice records…”
“Check each item one by one.”
Chu Man Man's lips moved slightly. Tuong Hong Mai started crying loudly again.
“It's cruel!”
“What the hell am I raising!”
A parent sitting nearby finally couldn't help but speak up:
“Girl, if it's really a misunderstanding, just show us evidence to clarify.”
I nodded.
“I will give evidence.”
“But she also has to give it.”
I turned to look at Tuong Hong Mai.
“She said she was my mother.”
“So tell me, which hospital was I born in?”
Tuong Hong Mai's eyes immediately became panicked.
“It's been so long, who can remember!”
I continue to ask:
“What is my father's name?”
“Your father…”
She choked. I coldly continued:
“You don't even know my father's name, yet you dare say that you raised me?”
Tuong Hong Mai's face turned red. Chu Man Man immediately stepped forward to mediate.
"It's normal for older people to be stressed so they can't remember for a while..."
I looked at her and burst out laughing.
“She doesn't remember.”
“But it seems you are the most impatient.”
