Chapter 2
Chapter 2 — Kieu Hoa went to the wrong door, I don't want to go back
My heart paused slightly. This person always asks the most important questions. If I return to the Tham family, my father will sigh, my stepmother will cry, and outsiders will spread even more unpleasant words to each other. In the end, we will still be forced into another marriage. Noble people do not dare to marry. A family of lower status will rely on the fact that the palanquin was sent to the wrong door and pressure you for the rest of your life. In that case, it would be better if we choose our own buyer today. I raised my eyes to look at him.
“The Shen family is not my way out.”
He didn't ask anymore. Just look down at the red silk ribbon next to the flower palanquin. A moment later, he said:
“The Thai Pho Palace is not a bet.”
“So let's just say I don't bet.”
“So what is it?”
“It is a bridge for a way to live.”
As soon as those two words fell, even Thanh Chi loosened his grip. The wind blew away a corner of my veil, the pearl necklace on the phoenix crown gently touched my cheek, bringing a bit of cold. Co Hoai Nghien was silent for a long time. The Luc family took the opportunity to say:
"Master Gu, the Major General's residence over there can't wait any longer. I would like to send you back immediately."
He raised his hand to call the palanquin bearer. But Co Hoai Nghien just calmly spoke up:
“Who gave you permission to touch it?”
The family member immediately stiffened on the spot. The entourage behind Co Hoai Nghien took a step forward, his eyes cold.
"In front of the gate of the Thai Pho palace, not everyone can blatantly act arrogantly."
The family member immediately knelt down.
“I don't dare.”
Co Hoai Nghien looked at me.
“Miss Shen, if you step down from the palanquin, there will be no turning back.”
I smiled.
"When I walked out of the Tham family today, no one ever left me a way to turn back."
He pursed his lips slightly. I grabbed the palanquin door and stood up. Thanh Chi quickly stepped forward to help me.
“Miss, do you really want to come down?”
“Hold it steady.”
“But this is not the Luc family.”
"You still don't know what Master Gu's personality is like."
I said softly:
“Master Lu, I don't know either.”
Thanh Chi's eyes turned red again. I stepped onto the chair that was placed down from the palanquin, the robe was too heavy, each layer of dress overlapped, almost causing me to trip. Co Hoai Nghien was still standing on the steps, not moving at all. But the entourage behind him brought a bamboo-handled umbrella, blocking the sunlight that was shining straight down on my head. We lifted our feet and walked down. The pair of red embroidered shoes were gently placed on the green stone slab in front of the gate of the Thai Pho palace, making a very soft sound. It's like half of my previous life was trampled on. The lady of the Tham family cried out in a loud voice:
“Miss!”
The Luc family's expression also changed and they shouted loudly:
“Miss Tham, no way!”
I don't pay attention to them. I adjusted the sleeves of my shirt that were blown away by the wind, then straightened the phoenix coffin. Then step by step walk to the front steps. Co Hoai Nghien looked down at me. I raised my face, through the half-covered red veil, looking at his handsome but cold eyes and eyebrows. This wrong door scene is already ridiculous to the extreme. But suddenly I really want to turn it into an even more wild play. So I bowed my knees and bowed, my clear voice rang out in front of the gate of the Thai Pho palace.
"Husband."
“I'm late.”
Co Hoai Nghien's eyes finally stopped. The whole street seemed to be haunted by those two words nailed in place. At that moment, from the other end of the long street came the sound of horse hooves. The person who had just arrived had not yet had time to get off his horse and shouted angrily:
“Tham Duong Ninh, do you dare to publicly repent?”
I'm not familiar with that voice. But big enough. Everyone at the gate of the Thai Pho palace turned their heads to look back. A black horse stopped at the beginning of the street. The man on the horse was wearing a dark red robe, handsome eyes, and the concentric knot of the bridegroom's cord was still tied to his waist. When he turned around and dismounted, the wind blew up his robe, revealing a layer of dust on his riding boots. It seemed like he was pushing his horse very hard all the way. Thanh Chi said softly next to me:
“Miss, it is General Luc.”
I quietly said "yes". It turns out that this is the husband I should have worshiped today. Luc Thua Uyen took a few steps forward, her face dark and scary. He looked at the flower palanquin first. Then look at the stone steps in front of the Thai Pho palace where I am standing. Finally, his eyes stopped on Co Hoai Nghien.
“Master Gu.”
Co Hoai Nghien nodded slightly.
“Major general.”
A person wearing a crimson robe. A person in plain clothes is cool. Standing under the same sunlight, it's like two completely opposite paintings. Luc Thua Uyen looked at me.
“Miss Shen, today is your and my big wedding day.”
I nodded.
“You know but you're still standing here?”
“It was the palanquin that brought me here.”
“If you give it wrong, you can go back.”
I smiled slightly.
“It's easy for you to say, Major General.”
Luc Thua Uyen frowned tightly.
“What do you mean?”
I looked towards the Luc family kneeling on the ground.
"May I ask, Major General, who is the steward leading the way to welcome the bride today?"
Luc Thua Uyen turned his head to look at the family name. The family member immediately bowed his head.
“Little man... little man doesn't know.”
Luc Thua Uyen's face became even colder.
