Chapter 14
Chapter 14 — Little Demon King Khang Vuong Phu
The Queen Mother smiled coldly.
“Isn't Grandpa very fond of explaining rules and regulations?”
"Everyone wants to watch and see who dares to stop Phuong's order from the Queen Mother."
The Crown Prince stood up.
“I will personally bring it there.”
The emperor did not immediately agree. The Crown Prince looked at his father, lowered his voice and requested:
“If your father still has some trust in me, please let me leave the palace.”
The temple fell silent for a moment. The Emperor finally nodded: "Let A Man come along." The Crown Prince's face changed. I'm also dumbfounded. The Emperor explained to me:
“With you there, Co Sung An will not dare to play any shady tricks.”
I replied: "Your Majesty speaks too highly of you." The Emperor affirmed: "If he dares to act mischievously, I will give him a beating." I think for a moment.
“This is correct.”
My father quickly pulled my hand back.
“No, it's very dangerous outside.”
I patted the back of his hand.
“Father, please go investigate the sword in the temple.”
“I'll go home and take care of the house.”
“My father and I split up and fight.”
My father's eyes turned red again.
“Who taught you to speak in such a foolish way?”
“Father.”
“When did you ever teach me?”
"Father, didn't you just carry a sword and storm the palace?"
My father was speechless. The Crown Prince took Phuong's order and went straight out. Before I could follow, the Queen Mother called back. She gave half of the fully assembled Thanh Ngoc Khau to me.
“Bring it along.”
I don't accept it.
“Old Luong said not to believe in jade.”
The Queen Mother looked deeply into my eyes.
“You may not believe it.”
“But don't throw it away.”
I considered it for a while and finally kept it. When he stepped out of the temple, Khanh Vuong was still standing still in the yard. He saw the Phuong order in the Crown Prince's hand, and saw me walking next to the Crown Prince, my face as gloomy as the stormy sky.
“Where are you going, Your Highness?”
The Crown Prince replied calmly: "According to the Queen Mother's wishes, leave the palace and go to Khang Vuong Palace." Khanh Vuong turned his eyes towards me.
“The princess is really brave, in just the blink of an eye, she was able to seduce the Queen Mother and the Crown Prince to run around for her.”
I smirked.
“Uncle Khanh Vuong is not bad at all.”
"Even though I'm this old, I'm still busy digging holes to bury people."
Khanh Vuong's eyes darkened.
“There will come a day when you will have to pay a heavy price for this lying tongue.”
I took a step closer.
“Then you better hurry.”
"I'm afraid you won't get your turn in line."
The Crown Prince lowered his voice and urged: "Let's go." I followed the Crown Prince and left the palace. Outside the palace gate, horses have been prepared. The prince jumped onto his horse, his movements extremely fluent. I looked down at my cumbersome, baggy palace dress, it was truly an eyesore. The prince bent down and asked:
“Don't know how to ride?”
I smiled faintly.
“At three years old, I dared to steal my father's horse.”
I tore off the cumbersome outer layer of my skirt, stepped on the stirrups, and turned around on the horse's back. The inner servants standing nearby stared in fear, as if their eyes were about to fall out. The Crown Prince glanced at me.
“Uncle Khang's life is really difficult.”
I replied: "Your Highness just found out today?" He didn't say anything more. When the two horses rushed through the palace gate, it was already dark. Pedestrians on Thuong Kinh street skimmed The sea moved out to make way. Someone recognized me and cried out in surprise.
“Little Demon King Khang Vuong Palace!”
I turned my head back and heard the sound behind me.
"I'm busy today, I'll make trouble again another day."
The guy was so scared that he cowered and hid behind the stall. The corner of the Crown Prince's lips twitched. But soon, the fiery light rising from the direction of Khang Vuong Palace burned away that rare bit of expression on his face. I tightened my grip on the reins. Black smoke billowed high in the distance. That's where we grew up. It is where my father held me and taught me my first steps in life. It is also the place where our mother's last breath is kept. I gritted my teeth.
"Co Sung An dares to set fire to my house."
The Crown Prince coldly continued: "What are you planning to do?" I gripped the horse's belly tightly and rode straight into the sea of fire.
“I will make it impossible for the Co family to go to their ancestors' graves tomorrow in peace.”

In front of the gate of Khang Vuong Palace, the army had completely surrounded the alley, not even water could get through. Fierce fire flared up from the west side of the courtyard, casting a bright red light onto the golden-lettered banner in front of the gate. I took a glance and immediately recognized Co Sung An standing tall on the steps. He was wearing military armor, holding the hilt of his sword, and his expression was even more righteous than Khanh Vuong. The old butler of the royal palace knelt on the ground, his forehead pounding until it bled. The two chefs were escorted against the wall, the three guard dogs barked until they were hoarse. Co Sung An coldly declared: "Kang Vuong's palace harbors criminals who rebelled against Luong Chau, and according to orders, conduct a house search." I reined the horse in right in front of him.
“Whose mission?”
Co Sung An looked up, saw me, and a trace of disgust flashed through his eyes.
"Your highness is not in the palace receiving training, so you dare to leave the palace on your own?"
The Crown Prince immediately caught up, holding high the Phuong command in his hand, shining brightly.
“The Queen Mother's order is here, prohibiting the army from retreating.”
Co Sung An's face changed slightly, but he did not kneel down immediately.
"Your Highness, Khang Vuong's palace is involved in treason, the last general does not dare to withdraw his troops arbitrarily."
The Crown Prince's voice was as bland as water.
“Do you not dare to withdraw, or do you not want to withdraw?”
Co Sung An looked up at the Crown Prince.
“Your Highness intends to cover for King Khang Palace?”
I jumped off the horse and strode straight up the steps.
“It doesn't matter whether he covers it up or not.”
"If you don't order someone to put out the fire immediately, I will throw you into that fire first."
Co Sung An angrily shouted: "Tham A Man, do you dare to threaten the Commander of the Forbidden Army?" I nodded and looked at the silver Vice Commander card on his shoulder.
“Stop putting gold on your face.”
“Just a Deputy.”
The surrounding crowd whispered and inhaled a few breaths of air. Co Sung An's face was as pale as a banana leaf. He waved his hand, and the guards behind him simultaneously pulled out their swords. The Crown Prince took a step forward, pressing Phuong's order directly onto his sword sheath.
"Co Sung An, standing in front of Phuong's orders and daring to draw a knife, are you planning to rebel?"
As soon as these words were uttered, the army immediately knelt down. Co Sung An also gritted his teeth and knelt. However, the fire in the West Institute is still burning. When I rushed in, the heat burned my face and the smoke stung my eyes. The royal palace's West Court has been sealed since the fire when I was three years old. My father never allowed me to be sharp array approaching. He said that place was unlucky. Now, tongues of fire were licking the old rafters again, as if wanting to burn once again the unburnt remains from sixteen years ago. I grabbed a bucket of water and soaked it from head to toe, then kicked open the hospital door. The old butler behind him cried bitterly:
“My lord, I can't get in!”
I never turned back. Inside, thick black smoke billowed. Thanks to some memories of secretly sneaking in and playing in my childhood, I groped my way to the door of my mother's old room. The door latch had been locked tightly by someone from the outside. My heart sank heavily. This fire was not caused by accidental ransacking. But someone intentionally started the fire. I threw my foot and kicked the bar in half. As soon as the door opened, a figure rolled from inside out. That was Hanh Nhi - the most cowardly maid in the royal palace. The girl's face was stained with soot, and in her chest she was still holding a wooden box.
“My lord, someone locked a slave inside.”
I dragged her out under the porch.
“Who is it?”
The girl coughed and couldn't say a word, just stretched out her hand and pointed towards the back wall. I followed the direction her finger looked and saw a muddy boot print at the foot of the wall. The pattern on the sole of the boot is very deep, definitely not the type of shoes worn by servants in the royal palace. I picked up the wooden box. On the box was still hanging half of the burned-off brass lock. Hanh Nhi sobbed: "The slave saw them stuffing something into the lady's old cabinet, and when she tried to rush out to stop it, she was knocked unconscious." I opened the wooden box. Inside, there was indeed a stack of brand new papers.
