Chapter 8
Chapter 8 — Little Demon King Khang Vuong Phu
Father looked at me, his voice trembling:
“But the human heart is deeper than a tiger's den.”
This doesn't sound like yours at all. Normally, even when speaking heavy or light words, he cannot speak fluently. But today, he was like a cornered rabbit, finally baring his fangs and claws. The Queen Mother suddenly spoke up: "Who's going with her?" Noi Thi raised her head.
“Your Majesty told me to ask the Queen Mother to stay at Tho Khang palace and wait.”
The Queen Mother burst out laughing.
“Does even the emperor want to hinder him now?”
The inner lady was speechless and did not dare to answer. I glanced at them.
“Everyone stop arguing.”
"Since the Emperor only calls me alone, I can go."
The king frantically called out: “A Man!” I leaned close to his ear and whispered:
“Father, please rest assured.”
"Dad's lady made such a big fuss today. If he really wanted to kill me, he would never have chosen the Royal Study Room."
The king's father's eyes flashed red.
"At this point, you're still sneaking around."
I blinked: "Shouldn't I have to cry for dad to see?" He felt a lump in his throat and coughed twice in a row. The Queen Mother placed half of the Thanh Ngoc Khau in my palm.
“Take it.”
I looked at her.
“Give something that important to me?”
The Queen Mother replied: "Since they are afraid of it, it will be more beneficial for you to take it than for someone else to hide it." I put the pearl in my sleeve. My father also gave me half of his pill. The two halves of the pearl touched each other, making a very soft clicking sound. Like an old game of chess that has finally come to an end. The road leading to the Royal Library is quite long. The maid told him to walk forward, his steps were extremely steady. I asked him: "What is the name of Cong Cong?" He lowered his voice and said: "Servant Tieu Thuan Tu."
“Do you know the person who died in the well just now?”
His steps paused slightly.
“There are so many inner servants in the palace that slaves cannot know them all.”
I burst into laughter.
"I didn't say who it was, what are you scared of?"
His shoulders were tense. The next second, from the hidden corner ahead, two guards suddenly rushed out. They were not wearing royal attire. But the long sword was removed from its shining sheath. Tieu Thuan Tu immediately rolled around and dodged to the side. One of them pointed his knife straight at my chest. I don't have a slingshot in my sleeve, and I don't have a soft whip on my side. The maids at Tho Khang Palace searched very carefully. But they cannot take away my fist. I ducked my body to avoid the tip of the knife, throwing my knee hard into the assassin's wrist. The long sword clattered to the ground. I grabbed the hilt, turned my hand and placed the blade straight across his neck. The remaining guard rushed forward. I pushed the guy trapped in my hand forward. The two men crashed into each other and fell down. Tieu Thuan Tu crawled up and tried to run away. I lifted my foot and kicked the sheath off the ground. The blade tore through the wind and flew away, hitting him in the thigh. He let out a pitiful scream and knelt to the ground. I strode forward and stomped on his back.
“Dear Duke, the path you are leading seems to be wrong.”
Tieu Thuan Tu trembled like a leaf.
“The lord spares his life, the servants will only serve their orders!”
“Whom do you serve?”
Lips he was white and shaking.
“The slave cannot testify.”
I pressed the tip of the knife hard down close to his cheek. The green tile floor echoed with a dry thud.
“Then just take your secret down to the well and confide in that person.”
He was threatened and cried bitterly.
“It's a member of Khanh Vuong's palace!”
My eyes are cold.
“Khanh Vuong?”
“The slave can only meet the chief historian of Khanh Vuong's palace.”
“He said, just lure the princess to this deserted road, someone will take care of the situation.”
I asked: "How to solve it?" Tieu Thuan Tu did not dare raise his head to look at me.
“He said it was best to make the princess unable to speak again forever.”
I curled my lips and smiled coldly.
“It's too polite.”
The two fake guards behind him were still struggling to get up. I turned around, swung the blade of my knife and gave a blow to a guy who fainted on the spot. The remaining guy had just half crawled up before I pinned him face down on the ground.
“Lie still.”
“My temper is not very good today.”
He immediately lay down as stiff as a log. From the end of the deserted street came the sound of footsteps. I thought someone was coming to kill me. But the person who came was Tham Tung Le. As soon as he saw the scene of people lying on the ground, his face immediately lost a drop of blood. I carried the knife and stared at him.
“Are you also coming to deal with me?”
Tham Tung Le took two steps back in panic.
“Not me!”
"I only ordered His Highness the Crown Prince to come and see if you have arrived at the Royal Study Room or not."
I slowly walked closer.
“Does the Crown Prince know that I will go this way?”
Tham Tung Le moved his lips. He was speechless and couldn't say a word. I reached out, placed the blade across his shoulder. The tip of the knife pressed against his neck.
“Tham Tung Le, you better think carefully before answering.”
“Today I know that my mother did not die of illness.”
“I also know that there are people who want me to shut up forever.”
“If you still dare to use my parents as cannon fodder, I don't mind having Khanh Vuong's palace hang a funeral flag first.”
Tham Tung Le's legs were shaking. From far away, a familiar voice suddenly came.
“Tham A Man, put down the knife.”
The Crown Prince stood at the other end of the palace, followed by a group of guards. His face was dark and scary. I don't put down the knife.
“Your Highness came at just the right time.”
The Crown Prince glanced at Tieu Thuan Tu on the ground, then turned his eyes to Thanh Ngoc Khau in my hand. His eyes stopped on the pearl for a moment. Even if it's just a blink of an eye, we can still catch that look. I smiled brightly.
“Your Highness recognizes it?”
The Crown Prince did not answer. Suddenly, the sound of a bell rang in the Ngu study room. Each sound was continuous, urgent as if demanding one's life. An inner servant from the front crossed her legs and ran as fast as she could, her screaming voice tearing at her throat.
“It's not done!”
“Your Majesty is executed!”

The sound of the bell pounding hard against the palace wall, vibrating each time, made people's hearts tighten. The Crown Prince's expression suddenly changed, he turned on his heel and rushed straight towards the royal study room. Tham Tung Le's legs were still weak, and he hurriedly followed Khanh Vuong Palace's group and left. I carried the knife, grabbed Tieu Thuan Tu's collar and lifted him up.
“Go.”
Tieu Thuan Tu cried and cried, his nose was drooling dirty.
“My lord, I have already confessed everything, please spare my life.”
I replied briefly: "Whether you forgive me or not, we still have to see whether your mouth knows what to say or not." Outside the Royal Study Room, it was a mess. The royal guards surrounded themselves tightly into three barrier rings. On the ground lay two corpses, one had a short sword pierced through his chest, the other had his throat slit.
