Chapter 14
Chapter 14 — Marriage and Love Are Two Things, So Divorce Is Also My Thing
I put the receipt back in the folder.
“She knows how to live much better than you.”
Pho Thua Nghien closed his eyes. The pharynx moved slightly.
“You were tricked by her.”
Finally... This sentence came. I looked at him.
“You are willing to be deceived.”
He immediately opened his eyes.
“She said she didn't want to be alone.”
“I'll leave immediately.”
“She said I made things difficult for her.”
“You immediately questioned me.”
“She said you two have nothing.”
“You immediately considered my discomfort to be just a small matter.”
“Deputy Thua Nghien.”
“It's not that you don't have a brain.”
“But you turned off your own mind…”
“To make way for her.”
His face was pale. The phone rings. It's Wen Shu Dieu. Pho Thua Nghien looked at the screen. Don't answer the phone. Second time. Third time. He shook his head. I picked up my bag.
“Then I'll go first.”
He quickly stood up. The voice was full of urgency.
“I listen.”
He pressed to accept the call. Also turn on the speakerphone. Wen Shu Dieu's voice was high-pitched with panic.
“Mr. Thua Nghien!”
“Why didn't you answer my phone call?”
“Is Lam Tri Hoa forcing you again?”
“My lawyer said her evidence has no value.”
“Don't be afraid.”
Pho Thua Nghien looked at me. Lips are white.
“Thu Dieu.”
“The hotel bill shows me as the person checking in.”
The other end of the line was silent for a moment.
“What do you mean?”
“I have an apartment.”
“Why do you say you have no place to go?”
Wen Shu Dieu's breathing became chaotic.
“I really didn't want to go home that day.”
“I just returned home.”
“Only alone...”
Pho Thua Nghien interrupted.
“I told Lam Tri Hoa to erase the evidence.”
“And even sent her a lawyer letter.”
Wen Shu Dieu's voice changed completely.
“Mr. Thua Nghien.”
“Are you blaming me?”
“Obviously she humiliated me first!”
“Right in the company lobby.”
“In front of so many people.”
“She made me pay for the hotel!”
Pho Thua Nghien's hand was placed on the table.
“That is your and her common property.”
The other end of the line was silent again. A few seconds later. Wen Shuyao burst into tears.
“Before…”
“You don't treat me like that.”
Pho Thua Nghien gently closed his eyes.
“Before…”
“I didn't make you like this either.”
There was a cold laugh on the other end of the line. Short laughter. Finally tearing off the tender shell.
“Deputy Thua Nghien.”
“What other victim are you pretending to be now?”
“That year I went abroad.”
“Didn't you also say you would wait for me?”
“So what was the result?”
“Just turn around and marry someone else.”
“I married her…”
“Isn't it just because she makes you feel secure?”
Pho Thua Nghien's face gradually turned pale. Wen Shu Dieu continued to say:
“Now I regret it.”
“Again, you put all the responsibility on me.”
“I dare say…”
“Don't you remember the days before?”
“I dare say…”
“If you hadn't left that year…”
“So you will marry her?”
I stood next to it. Quietly listen to everything. Pho Thua Nghien raised his head and looked at me. His eyes were panicked and confused. He hastily said:
“That's not true, Tri Hoa.”
“I don't…”
I raised my hand. Signal him to be quiet. On the other end of the line. Wen Shuyao continued.
“Don't forget.”
“You told me yourself.”
“Lam Tri Hoa is suitable for marriage.”
“But she doesn't understand you.”
“You also said…”
“She lives like she's managing a succession plan plan.”
"Exactly."
"Principle."
“Very boring.”
Pho Thua Nghien's lips completely lost the color of blood. I looked at him. That moment. I heard the last string in my heart... The sound was very soft. It's softer than the sound of chopsticks hitting the edge of a plate. I picked up my phone. End recording. Pho Thua Nghien saw that action. Eyes immediately opened wide.
“Tri Hoa...”
I save the recording file. Then send it to Tong Di Duong. I raised my head to look at Pho Thua Nghien.
"Thank you for turning on speakerphone."
On Thu Dieu on the other end of the line was stunned.
"Lam Tri Hoa? Are you there?"
I took Pho Thua Nghien's phone and brought it closer. The other end of the line heard the sound of rapid breathing.
"What you just said is very good, my lawyer will like it very much."
Wen Shu Dieu shouted:
"You recorded me? On what basis were you recorded?"
I laughed.
"Based on the fact that you called my husband, the call was on speakerphone, right on my dining table and scolded me."
I hung up. Pho Thua Nghien reached out to pull me back. I took a step back. He muttered:
"I didn't know she would say that."
"I know." I said. "You just didn't expect me to hear it too."
He covered his face, his shoulders slumped.
"Tri Hoa, you are wrong."
