Chapter 8
Chapter 8 — Marriage and Love Are Two Things, So Divorce Is Also My Thing
I looked at him.
“You can ignore me.”
“But we can't ignore her.”
Pho Thua Nghien's eyes were red with blood.
“Don't try to bend my meaning.”
“No place to stay?”
I pulled my arm back sharply. It hurt so much that I frowned slightly.
“She just posted a photo of her new house to her friends circle last night.”
“Located as riverside apartment.”
“Do you need me to help you remember?”
Pho Thua Nghien was stunned. I opened Wen Shuyao's circle of friends. The photo is still there. Glass door close to the ground. View overlooking the river. The status line reads:
“First night back home, finally at peace.”
Posted time: Sixteen past ten last night. Pho Thua Nghien stared at the screen. Like someone just slapped me right in front of me. He muttered:
“She said... she didn't want to be alone.”
I laughed out loud.
“A married man stayed with his first love in a hotel for one night…”
“Is that called psychological support?”
Pho Thua Nghien put his hand firmly between his eyebrows.
“I admit I shouldn't have lied to you.”
“But nothing really happened.”
I looked at him.
“Deputy Thua Nghien.”
“You keep insisting that nothing happened…”
“It's because I know.”
“If something really happened…”
“I won't give you any chance to explain.”
He raised his head to look at me.
“So now give me a chance.”
“Not giving you a chance.”
I held a tissue. Slowly wipe coffee stains on the table.
“It's to give the legal process a little more time.”
His expression darkened.
“Do I have to do it to this extent?”
I wiped off the coffee. Then throw the tissue in the trash.
“Hotel money last night...”
Deputy Thua Nghien did not answer. I hold the phone. A hotel hold payment. Payment time. One twenty-nine in the morning. I gave him the screen.
“It's common property again.”
He looked at the money. The voice became quieter.
“I will make it up.”
“It's not just about money.”
I looked at him.
“I used money during our marriage…”
“To take care of another woman's feelings.”
Pho Thua Nghien took a step back. Lean on the edge of the dining table. Finally... He had no words left to say. Ten o'clock in the morning. Tong Di Duong texted me.
"If it's convenient, please come by this afternoon. First, let's prepare procedures to preserve assets during the marriage."
I replied: Pho Thua Nghien saw me texting. He spoke up:
“You contacted the lawyer again?”
“Lin Tri Hoa, we haven't finished talking yet.”
“We're done talking.”
I calmly replied.
“You lied to me, deleted photos, stayed overnight at a hotel, and used a joint account to make payments.”
“I can explain something.”
“But it can't explain everything.”
Pho Thua Nghien's voice was low.
“I do not agree to separate.”
I looked up at him.
“Last night…”
“It was you who took action to initiate the separation.”
Pho Thua Nghien's face immediately turned pale. Right at that moment. The doorbell rang. I thought it was the delivery person. As soon as he opened the door... Tran Uc was standing outside. In his hand he carried a bag of fruit. Face full of embarrassment.
“Sister-in-law, is Thua Nghien at home?”
Pho Thua Nghien came out from inside.
“What are you doing here?”
Tran Uc smiled wryly.
"I'm all worried about you two. Last night, Thu Dieu cried all night too.”
“Everyone said it was only because of a classmate reunion that things turned out like this.”
“So I wanted to make an appointment.”
“Apologize properly to my sister-in-law.”
I looked at him.
“Sorry I…”
“Or do you want me to apologize to Wen Shuyao?”
Tran Uc was speechless.
“Sister-in-law, if you say so then…”
I interrupted him.
“Last night in the private room, when she said I'm not the type of person Pho Thua Nghien likes…”
“I laugh.”
“When I saw him peeling shrimp for her…”
"He even cheered and said he was a model husband."
“Now you come to my door again.”
“Advise me to be generous.”
Tran Uc's face immediately stiffened.
“We only have good intentions.”
I nodded.
“If you really have good intentions…”
“Then don't step on other people's doors.”
Tran Uc turned to look at Pho Thua Nghien. The voice started to get impatient.
“Thua Nghien, say something.”
Pho Thua Nghien looked at me. Voice full of fatigue.
“Tri Hoa, everyone wants to solve the problem.”
“The problem is not everyone.”
“It's you.”
Tran Uc's face changed.
“Sister-in-law, you can't say that either.”
“Thu Dieu just returned home, strange country.”
“How about Thua Nghien take care of her a little?”
“Are all women this sensitive?”
I looked straight at him. Pho Thua Nghien was about to open his mouth. I laughed first.
“Are you married yet?”
Tran Uc was stunned.
“Then shut up.”
