Chapter 12
Chapter 12 — Marriage Book
The meeting room was eerily quiet, with only the gentle sound of the air conditioner. Next is a photo taken in a restaurant, he bows his head to pick up food for her, the sound of clinking glasses is clear. Next is the scene in the company parking lot, he leans against the car door to answer the phone, the corners of his lips carry a smile that he thinks is very stylish. The lens pulled away, a few steps away was the timekeeping gate, colleagues were bustling in and out, no one paid attention to that hidden corner.
“Who gave this?” Someone whispered, their voice full of curiosity and surprise.
The next images continuously appeared, screenshots of messages, transfer history, and a few blurry videos but enough for people to clearly understand what was going on. The frame is cut very cleverly, not revealing sensitive parts, but making the viewer even more embarrassed. The face of the woman in the red dress is blurred, only Chu Khai Hang's face is clearly visible without missing any details. Finally, the video stops at a photo. In the photo, Chu Khai Hang is holding a red-dressed woman's shoulder, holding a delicately wrapped gift box in her hand, behind which is a giant advertising wall in the shopping center. Below the screen, a prominent line of red text appeared.
“Timeline: half a year before marriage, two days after marriage.”
Below is also a small text.
“Used as evidence, clearly explain what the so-called ‘post-nuptial AA agreement’ actually conceals.”
The last frame gradually darkens, the screen turns to a black background with white text, revealing an even more dazzling line of text.
"This document has been sent synchronously to the human resources and discipline department of Chu Khai Hang company, and also sent to partners and project teams. I will sue according to the law, all divorce terms remain the same as the original plan."
Below are only three words. After a few seconds of silence, the meeting room immediately exploded.
“Oh my god, what a drama.”
"No wonder why they got divorced within two days of getting married."
“Is that girl in the red dress from the planning team?”
Some people almost blurted out, then quickly covered their mouths and secretly looked around. The manager's face was extremely unsightly, he immediately asked to turn off the projector, then turned to look straight at Chu Khai Hang.
“You follow me to the human resources department.”
All eyes turned to him at once, mixed with surprise, curiosity, and even a little gloating. Only now did he truly understand that this was not an unexpected incident, but a pre-prepared public exposure. His throat was dry, he couldn't say a word, he could only mechanically follow the manager out. Every look in the hallway felt like a needle pricking my back. When arriving at the human resources department, the human resources manager was already holding a thick stack of documents. At the top is the company's behavioral regulations and ethical standards, below is a printout of the anonymous complaint email. The email subject line is placed on the first page.
"Accusing Chu Khai Hang of having an affair in marriage, deteriorating personal ethics, seriously affecting the company's image."
In the signature part, after the words "accuser", clearly state two words in brackets.
“See for yourself.” The human resources manager pushed the documents towards him, her voice cold, "The company will investigate according to the procedure, the disciplinary department will also get involved, you write a report first, you don't need to go to work these days, stay home and wait for notification."
That moment, Chu Khai Hang doesn't even have the strength to justify. He knows that it's useless to justify, those images are too visual, enough to pull him from the position of "victimized groom" straight down to the label of "traitor". He picked up the email printout, his eyes stopped at the words "ex-wife", and an indescribable feeling of emptiness suddenly arose in his heart. You and I are really about to become strangers. Leaving the human resources room, he stood silently in the tea room for a few minutes, until his phone vibrated and the screen displayed an unfamiliar number. He instinctively picked up the phone. On the other end of the line, a deep female voice rang out.
"Hello Mr. Chu, I am the lawyer representing To Ninh, Chu Nhiem, the divorce petition has been edited and submitted to the court, please pay attention to receive the summons."
He was stunned for a few seconds before he could react.
“Lawyer Chu… yesterday's video was sent by you.”
"Correct." The other person's voice was still calm, "Part of the evidence was collected by me and To Ninh a few months ago, the rest was provided by anonymous people."
“Anonymous person.” He immediately grasped this point, “Who is it?”
“That is beyond the scope of what I can reveal.” Chu Nhiem paused for a moment and then continued, "But I can remind you of one thing, Mr. Chu, the day you proposed the so-called 'AA agreement', you thought you only had one card in your hand, but in fact, from the moment you chose to betray, the initiative was no longer on your side."
This side was silent for a moment.
“What do you mean?”
