Chapter 6 — Mother Died, Father Repented

“She's so good at acting, how could she die!”

I held the photo in my arms, but when he shook me hard, my hand slipped away. The photo frame fell to the ground with a "clack" sound, the glass shattered. At that moment, my head made a "boom" sound.

“Don't touch her!”

I swung my hand and gave him a strong slap. This slap used all my strength. He was beaten so much that his face turned to one side. I looked at him with red eyes, my voice trembling:

“My mother died a long time ago!”

“Died five years ago!”

“Die on your card that doesn't have any money!”

“Died all those times when you kept saying that she was pretending to be sick and fooling people!”

"What are you pretending to be now? What qualifications do you have to pretend!"

Dad froze in place, as if he didn't understand what I was saying at all. But I completely lost control, screaming hoarsely:

“Have you looked for her once in these five years?”

“Have you checked the medical records once?”

“Have you ever visited her grave?”

“No!”

“You didn't do anything!”

“From beginning to end, you only followed Tuong Vi in acting!”

“Now that you're standing here, who do you want to show off to?”

I cried and pushed him, chasing him out. Finally, I forcefully pushed him out the door and slammed the door shut. But I myself couldn't stand it anymore. I sat down, little by little picking up the broken glass and photos on the ground. The glass cut his hand and blood oozed out. Outside was the sound of his frantic banging on the door.

“Open the door!”

“Say it clearly!”

“How could Ta Tinh Mien die!”

“I don't believe it!”

I ignore him. I just want to pick up the broken pieces on the ground and hold my mother's photo in my heart. But my hands kept shaking, and my eyes became increasingly dark. Maybe it's because I was so excited just now, or maybe it's because I haven't eaten anything in recent days. I wanted to stand up, but my legs were weak and my whole body fell straight down. His head hit the corner of the table, and his wrist was also severely cut by broken glass. Blood immediately gushed out. The pounding on the door outside stopped for a second, then became even more frantic:

“An Ninh!”

“Speak up!”

“Open the door!”

I moved my lips, but no sound came out. Finally, only a "bang" was heard. The door was slammed open. When dad rushed in, I didn't have any strength left to move. He saw me falling on the ground, blood under my wrists, my whole body panicking:

“An Ninh!”

He rushed forward and picked me up, frantically covering my wound with his hands and feet, his voice trembling:

“Don't sleep!”

“Look at me!”

“Open your eyes!”

But my consciousness was blurred, I could no longer hear anything clearly. I could only see his mouth moving and see the blood on his face draining little by little. At that moment, I suddenly felt very tired. More tired than any day in the past five years. Before I closed my eyes, the last thing I saw... were his shaking hands, and the torn photo on the ground.

Chapter 7 I stayed in the emergency room for two days. When I woke up, there was only pure white in front of my eyes. Dad is sitting by the hospital bed. His eye bags were dark and his whiskers were stubbled, as if he hadn't slept for several days or nights.

“Don't move.”

“The doctor said I lost too much blood and if I messed up the wound would tear there."

I withdrew my hand, not even looking at him:

“Get out.”

The hospital room fell silent for a long time. Finally he said in a low voice:

“I'm sorry.”

I just find it funny.

“If you say this now, isn't it too late?”

His throat rolled, his voice hoarse:

“I contacted an orthopedic specialist abroad.”

“Your leg, I will think of a way.”

“Will you think of a way?”

I directly interrupted him:

"The person who broke my legs in the past, wasn't it you?"
