Chapter 9
Chapter 9 — My Loved One, I Set You Free
He looked at me, his eyes full of excitement but not because of me.
"Khe Khe, you're finally awake! Save Sanh Sanh! Over the years, she's been forced to the limit by Hoac Lang Da! She's your biological sister!"
I laughed contemptuously.
“Have you ever done a DNA test?”
He was stunned. I took out the test report from under my pillow. It was written very clearly: Nguyen Sanh Sanh and Nguyen Chinh Duong, who is also my father, do not have any blood relationship. This is the test result my mother did as soon as she discovered her stepchild when Nguyen Sanh Sanh was six years old. At first, she intended to announce it to slap my father in the face. But thinking back, isn't that too good for him? Only at this point can it cause real damage. The precious daughter he raised for twenty years was not his biological child. How interesting it is. My father couldn't believe it and accepted the report. He watched it over and over again. His mouth opened as if he wanted to say something but in the end no words came out. A choking feeling stuck in my chest, unable to escape. Then, his body leaned back and the whole person fell down. He was so angry that he had a stroke. I looked at him and without hesitation called 120. At this point, staying alive is the best punishment for him, isn't it? The punishment was doubled because I called an ambulance in time, and my father was saved. But he was paralyzed on half his body. From then on, I could only lie in bed for the rest of my life, constantly reminiscing about the happy days of raising someone else's daughter for twenty years, but unable to say a word. What a nice ending. I smoothly took over the Nguyen family. The procedure for receiving the Nguyen family's property was completed within just one week. During that time, Nguyen Sanh Sanh's mother intended to take advantage of the internal chaos to transfer assets. But the team of lawyers I arranged in advance collected evidence and sent her to prison on charges of property appropriation. Sentenced to twelve years. The day he heard the news, Nguyen Sanh Sanh ran away from the sanatorium. I don't know how she found my location, grabbed a fruit knife and rushed into the office. When the blade came, I had no time to avoid it. A look of panic flashed across my face. But at that moment, a shadow stood in front of me. Hoac Lang Da. He used his body to block that knife blow for me. Fresh blood even splattered on my face. It wasn't until the next second that the security guard rushed in. Nguyen Sanh Sanh was controlled on the spot. Because of the failed attempted murder charge, she also followed her mother to prison. Sentenced to ten years. Hoac Lang Da was injured. Luckily the wound was not life-threatening. I took him to the hospital. But even while in a coma, he kept calling my name.
“Khe Khe, I want to see Khe Khe…”
But I just stood outside the hospital room door, never went in. The previous trauma was too deep. Even though they later healed, they still left an ugly scar. It took Huo Lang Da two months to recover. On the day he was discharged from the hospital, he sent someone to send a box of documents. The real copy of that hundred billion year trust fund, along with all remaining assets under your name, were transferred to my name. There are no conditions attached follow. I accept. That's what you owe me. A year later, he asked me to meet at a coffee shop across from the hospital. Thinking for a moment, I still came. He is thinner than a year ago. There was no blood left on his face. But as soon as he saw me, he still tried to force a smile.
“Khe Khe, I don't ask for your forgiveness.”
He opened his mouth. A sentence that seemed to have recircled a thousand times in his heart.
