Chapter 8
Chapter 8 — My Oldest Son's Secret Made My Ex-Husband Pale Right in Court
She turned around to leave. I called her over, my voice not loud but clear enough.
“You better sit down and listen to me.”
“What is in my hand, you will definitely be interested in.”
I took out a small envelope from my pocket and pushed it in front of her. Bach Mong looked at me suspiciously, then finally sat down. She opened the envelope. Inside is neither money nor photos. It's an A4 sheet of paper. On it is printed a series of bank accounts and transfer records. They're all her father's overseas accounts. The amount, time, and each item are clear. Bach Mong's face instantly turned white. She suddenly raised her head to look at me, her eyes full of horror.
“You… why do you have this?”
“What I have is more than just this.”
I looked at her calmly, as if I was talking about something that had nothing to do with me.
“I also have a USB in my hand.”
"Inside are records of all the 'collaborations' of your father and Co Bo Van over the past few years."
“Construction materials are undercut, money laundering records, and…”
I stopped slightly and looked at her.
“The conversations cannot bring to light the two of you.”
Bach Mong's body began to tremble.
“What… what do you want?”
“Very simple.”
I raised a finger.
“One hundred million.”
“You give me one hundred million, I'll give you the original USB copy.”
"From now on, we will pay the bills. You and your father will continue to be high and prosperous."
“I took my child and ran far away.”
Bach Mong stared at me. After a long while, she suddenly laughed. Laughed until my whole body shook.
“Tu Tri Ha, are you crazy poor?”
"One hundred million? You really dare to open your mouth."
“Aren't you afraid that I'll report you to the police and accuse you of blackmail and rape?”
“You report it.”
I leaned back in the chair and leisurely looked at her.
“I bet you don't dare.”
“Once the police intervene, this USB will become evidence in court.”
“At that time, I will not be the only one going to prison.”
“Your father's lifelong reputation will be destroyed.”
"And you, meddling in someone else's marriage, being a minor, will also become the laughing stock of the whole city."
“What about me?”
I smiled: "I already have two empty hands, am I still afraid of people wearing shoes with bare feet?" The private room was as silent as death. The smile on Bach Mong's face could no longer hang. She knows that everything I said is true. This bet, she cannot lose.
“I don't have that much money.” She gritted her teeth and said.
“Your father does.” I said leisurely.
“Call him, I believe he will make a wise choice.”
I stood up, preparing to leave.
“Give me three days.”
“Three days later, if I don't see the money in my account.”
“A copy of this USB will appear in the mailboxes of the disciplinary committee and major media agencies.”
I walked to the door and turned around again.
“Oh, that's right.”
"Don't think about playing tricks, for example looking for someone to rob, or killing someone."
“I have backed up many USB copies, placed in different places.”
“Once something happens to me, these things will be automatically sent out immediately.”
Having finished speaking, I pulled the door open. Leaving Bach Mong alone sitting paralyzed in a chair, her face as gray as ashes. I stepped out of the tea room, feeling both my legs were soft. The atmosphere just now was all pretend. I got in Trieu Tinh's car, she was always waiting for me outside.
“I follow what you said.”
I recounted the entire conversation just now to her. Trieu Tinh finished listening and snapped his fingers.
“The next thing is to wait for the fish to bite.”
I'm still a bit uneasy.
“Are they really going to give money?”
"Will." Trieu Tinh is very certain.
“For them, money is a small thing, reputation and status are life.”
“But they certainly won't be easily subdued.”
“These three days, you have to be especially careful.”
“I hired two bodyguards for you to protect you and your child twenty-four hours.”
My heart warmed.
“A Tinh, thank you.”
The next two days, the waves were calm. It was so quiet that it made me uneasy. Neither the Co family nor the Bach family had any movement. Like the calm before the storm. Every day I still pick up and pick up my children, buy food and cook meals as usual. Two bodyguards wearing black vests always followed me closely without leaving a step. Attracted many strange looks in the apartment complex. Tuesday afternoon. I received a phone call from Bach Mong.
“Money, I'm ready.”
Her voice was filled with fatigue and resentment.
“But how can I believe you, after getting the money you will destroy everything?”
“Very simple.” I said, “We deal directly.”
