Chapter 3
Chapter 3 — My Parents Were Kicked Out of the Wedding Table, I Announced the Wedding That Night
In the private room of the tea house, Co's mother leisurely raised her cup of tea.
"Dinh doesn't understand, I scolded him."
"I've also asked someone to rearrange the wedding table. Don't be angry anymore, follow me home."
I remained standing, not sitting down.
“I already said it.”
“The wedding is cancelled.”
Co's mother put down her cup of tea.
“Tam Am, women must know how to be reasonable.”
"I've already built the ladder up to your feet, do you still want someone else to kneel down and beg?"
Having said that, she took out a file and pushed it in front of me.
“As compensation, the villa will add your name to the book.”
I opened the first page. Coming to the second page, the words "Core patent free transfer agreement" immediately caught the eye. I laughed.
“Uncle Co, the Co family's way of apologizing is really economical.”
“Take my own things to compensate me.”
Co's mother's fingertips lightly tapped the contract.
"That patent has been used by Dinh's company for two years now, and is inherently the company's property."
“You're a woman, there's no point in keeping that.”
I closed the file.
“So what happens after signing?”
Mother Co looked at me.
“You just need to rest assured to be Mrs. Co.”
I pushed the contract back.
“I didn't sign.”
Co's mother's face immediately darkened.
“Tam Am, what if a man plays around a bit before getting married?”
“You don't even have that bit of tolerance?”
I slowly put down the teacup.
“To the point of wearing my dress to invite you to drink.”
"To the point of stealing my parents' seats at the wedding table."
“The position of the Co family's landlady...”
“Is it a garbage collection station?”
Co's mother slammed on the table.
“Speak cleanly!”
My mother was so scared that she held her breath. My father put his hands on the edge of the table and slowly stood up.
“In-laws, we will not continue this marriage.”
Co's mother didn't even bother to look at him.
“Is there a part here for you to speak up?”
I immediately walked up and stood in front of my father.
“He is my father.”
Co's mother smirked.
“No wonder your family turned out like this.”
"No wonder I don't know what the big picture is."
I picked up the contract.
“The general situation you mentioned…”
“Is it for me to hand over my core patent, and then have to obediently show my face to be slapped by Lam Kieu Kieu?”
At that moment, the room door opened. Co Dinh led Lam Kieu Kieu in. Lam Kieu Kieu's eyes were red.
“Auntie, don't blame Am Am, it's all my fault.”
“If I leave, will she no longer be angry?”
Co Dinh immediately hugged her.
“Don't talk nonsense.”
After speaking, he turned to look at me.
“Tam Am, do you have to make such a noise that it will scare even the adults to accept it?”
My eyes stopped on his arm that was holding Lam Kieu Kieu tightly.
“It came at just the right time.”
“Give me back my father's position at the wedding table.”
Co Dinh frowned.
“Didn't your mother say she would add more tables?”
I looked straight at him, emphasizing every word.
“I want... the wedding ceremony table.”
Co Dinh lost patience.
“Tham Am, how long do you want to overdo it?”
"This customer is related to the company's next round of capital raising. Where can my parents sit?"
I nodded slightly.
“So the patent is also related to the company's next round of funding.”
“So now... you guys are just starting to get impatient.”
Co Dinh stared at me.
"Equal Inventions are the property of the company, what does it mean for you to keep them like that?"
I hold the contract. Tear each page. Each piece of paper was torn into shreds and fell onto the table. Mother Co immediately stood up.
“You dare to tear?”
I tore off the last piece of paper, then threw it straight at Co Dinh's face.
“The patent is mine. And you, Co Dinh, are just trash I don't need anymore."
Co Dinh's face immediately turned pale. Lam Kieu Kieu immediately snuggled into his arms, appearing frightened.
“Mr. Dinh... I'm scared.”
I held my parents' hands and was about to leave when two bodyguards blocked the door. My father suddenly clutched his chest, his breathing became rapid. I looked up at Co's mother, my voice cold as ice.
“Get away.”
She coldly replied:
“If you don't sign today, don't even step out of this door.”
I picked up the hot cup of tea on the table and threw it straight at the back of the bodyguard's hand. He cried out in pain and reflexively took a step back. I immediately grabbed my dad, opened the door and rushed out. Behind, Co Dinh shouted loudly:
“Shen Am! Then you will have to come back and beg me!”
I never looked back. As soon as I got downstairs, I immediately opened the chat box with the lawyer and texted a sentence.
"Revoke all rights to use core patent A17 that Co Group is holding, immediately send a lawyer's dispatch."
The lawyer responded almost immediately.
“Confirmed?”
I only left two words.
“Confirmed.”
Behind me, as soon as Co Dinh chased me to the door, he sneered.
“She really hasn't shed a tear since seeing the coffin. Lock all her cards. I want to see how long she can be stubborn if she brings those two old people along."
Budget hotel rooms are very small. When the receptionist asked to swipe my deposit card, I directly took cash to pay. Co Dinh has blocked all my supplementary cards. Maybe he forgot something. Until now, I have never lived off his money. My father sat on the edge of the bed, his face scary white. Mother supported him and asked impatiently:
“Mr. Tham, where is your medicine?”
I immediately opened my suitcase to search. The medicine bag he brought with him has disappeared. I dumped all the clothes in the suitcase on the ground. I opened the secret compartment in my bag again. Still empty. At that moment, I suddenly remembered the scene when packing my luggage at the villa, Co Dinh once picked up my bag to check. At that time he also said:
“Don't bring anything that belongs to the Co family.”
I immediately called him. The bell rang for a long time before he finally picked up.
“Think it through?”
I tried to suppress my anger.
“Did you take my medicine bag?”
Co Dinh burst out laughing.
“Ah, that bag of vitamins?”
"Kieu Kieu has been feeling nervous lately, I gave it to her to drink."
I closed my eyes for a second.
“It was my father's life-saving medicine.”
The other end of the line was silent for half a second, then his voice calmed down a bit.
“This game again?”
I tightened my grip on the phone.
“Co Dinh, I don't have time to act with you.”
“Bring the medicine back immediately.”
