Chapter 10 — No Resentment, No Forgiveness

Updated 10/08/2026 4 min read

I simply...

To take back what I myself had once bestowed upon him.

And as for the future?

If Chu Minh Hien truly possesses any real capability, he should rely on his own merits. The road ahead is long. He should focus on living his life well.

Lam Tu Vu’s face flickered between a deathly pallor and an indignant, flushed red, shifting incessantly. Near the lobby entrance, a few of my colleagues walked past. They all glanced over quietly, then immediately feigned indifference and hurried along. I sidestepped around her and headed straight toward the parking lot. Behind me, Lam Tu Vu suddenly shrieked.

Tan Nhuoc Tinh! Do you think you are so superior? You did nothing more than help him secure a few contracts!

I did not stop for a single moment.

Tan Nhuoc Tinh! There will come a day when you will regret this attitude of yours today!

Only then did I turn my head, offering her a faint, cool smile.

Then… keep waiting.

I had once thought that everything reached its conclusion there. Chu Minh Hien would walk his own path, and Lam Tu Vu would live her own life, while I would simply continue with mine. We would no longer be intertwined. But Lam Tu Vu clearly did not see it that way. A month after that social media post had been made public, I stumbled upon a thread on the city’s life forum. The title read: Does anyone know about the private life of a certain female planning director at a wedding company?

The post did not name me explicitly, but every detail was sharp and pointed, aimed directly at my life. The content alleged that a female planning director at a wedding firm had abused her position to initiate a romantic relationship with a photographer from a partner agency. Later, when the photographer fell in love with someone else, the woman was consumed by resentment and used her professional authority to terminate all of his collaboration contracts. The comment section became boisterous in no time. Some expressed sympathy, some labeled the director as petty, and others began to guess her identity, tagging various people in the process. One user even tagged me directly. I took a screenshot of the post and sent it to To Dao. Within seconds, she replied with only two words: Lam Tu Vu.

I proceeded to forward all the screenshots to General Manager Ngo. After reviewing them, he contacted the company’s legal department the very same day. Two days later, the account that had published the post issued a public apology, admitting that the content was entirely false. The post was deleted, and a formal apology was extended to the affected party. I knew this was the direct result of the cease-and-desist letter sent by our corporate lawyers. Yet, through this incident, I saw one thing clearly: Lam Tu Vu would not stop easily. As long as she had the desire, she would find countless ways to cause trouble for others. It was just a pity for her that I also possessed plenty of time to wait and see exactly how far she could truly go.

The day Chu Minh Hien’s mother was discharged from the hospital, she called me. I answered.

Nhuoc Tinh...

Her voice was much deeper than before. You have met with Lam Tu Vu.

I remained silent, waiting for her to continue.

Minh Hien told me… that you two broke up because he went to register his marriage with another woman. You scolded him for it.

She paused for a few seconds, her voice choking.

Nhuoc Tinh… I know that whatever I say now is already too late. For the past three years, I have seen it all. You treated Minh Hien with such kindness, and you treated me the same way. He has done you a grave wrong. I… I no longer have the face to ask anything of you.

I replied softly: Auntie, you only need to look after your health. That is enough.

The other end of the line fell silent; it sounded as if she were trying to suppress a sob. After a moment, she asked: So… what do you intend to do from here on out?

I looked out the window and smiled faintly. As for my own affairs, I know how to handle them.

She called out again: Nhuoc Tinh.

She paused for several seconds.
