Chapter 3
Chapter 3 — On Doan Ngo Day, They Forced Me to Give Up My House to My Younger Brother
I took out my phone and dialed.
"Hello, building management? Someone is restricting my freedom of movement. Would you please call the police?"
Lam Dieu immediately moved aside.
“Are you crazy?”
I hung up.
“No report.”
“I just scared you.”
My cousin couldn't help but laugh. Lam Dieu's face was dark and extremely unsightly. Before I walked out the door, I heard my mother screaming behind me:
"Lam Van! If you step out of this door today, don't accept this house anymore!"
I turned my head.
“Aren't you the one who said I'm not your biological child?”
Mother gritted her teeth:
“Then you will regret it!”
I smiled faintly.
“That question should be left to everyone else.”
The door closed. In the elevator, her cousin hurriedly followed.
“Van Van, are you okay?”
“Do you believe what they say?”
She shook her head.
"Not believe."
“When I was little, I looked exactly like my aunt when I was young.”
I looked at her.
“Sister, do you still have last year's health check-up card?”
The cousin was stunned.
"Still. What's wrong?"
“Send me a copy.”
She stared at me.
“You found out something, right?”
I pressed the elevator button.
“The final step is still missing.”
My cousin quickly sent me a health check-up card over the phone. I opened it to see. My father's blood type is A. My mother's blood type is B. My blood type is AB. Lam Dieu blood type O. I saved the screenshot. The cousin asked in a low voice:
“Van Van, are you planning to do a DNA test?”
Her eyes immediately opened wide.
“What was the result?”
The elevator door opens. I walked out.
“The Doan Ngo Festival hasn't ended yet.”
At that moment, the phone rang. It's a voice message from my mother.
"Lam Van, I'll tell you what. Tomorrow, the To family will come to eat. You have to go home and apologize."
“The house issue also has to be resolved.”
“If not, I will post the fact that you are not my biological child on your company group, so that your colleagues can see what kind of person you are!”
My cousin was so angry that she cursed.
“How could she do that?”
I converted the voice message to text and saved it.
“It is possible.”
The cousin asked worriedly:
“So what are you going to do?”
I raised my head and looked down at the parking lot downstairs. Next to a black car, there was a man in a gray suit waiting. Seeing me, he immediately walked over.
“Miss Lam, all documents have been prepared.”
The cousin looked at the man in surprise.
"This is...?"
That person gave me a bag of documents.
“I am lawyer Trinh.”
Cousin took a breath. I received the document bag.
"Thank you."
Attorney Trinh continued:
"In addition, the ownership records of the house in the old neighborhood have also been searched."
“That house is in your grandfather's name.”
"In the will, it is clearly stated that the Lam family's ancestral house will be jointly inherited by your father and you."
I laughed.
“They didn't mention it today.”
Lawyer Trinh also laughed.
“Because they know that mentioning it will get them into trouble.”
I put my file bag away.
“Tomorrow for family dinner, I will return.”
Cousin immediately panicked.
“Are you still coming back?”
"Of course."
“But they treat me like that!”
I looked at the voice messages on my phone.
“Don't they want the whole family to testify?”
I turn off the screen.
“Then let everyone see for themselves.”
The next afternoon, my mother called again.
“Van Van, yesterday your father was angry to the point where I couldn't sleep all night.”
I calmly replied: She paused a bit.
“Today, the To family came. Don't cause trouble anymore."
“If your brother's wedding is ruined, I won't leave you alone.”
“Are you guys still going to say I'm not your biological child?”
“Isn't that true?”
“Where is the evidence?”
Mom's voice immediately tensed up.
“What do you mean?”
"Nothing. Just ask casually.”
She lowered her voice.
“Lam Van, don't ask the elephant for the fairy.”
“If you obediently give up that house, we will still consider you as family in the future.”
“What if I don't give in?”
“So I'm just an outsider.”
I replied briefly: Mom obviously didn't expect me to agree so quickly.
“Get what?”
“Okay, I know I'm an outsider.”
She immediately became angry.
“Stop using that kind of cool talk.”
“You must be home before six o'clock. Don't keep your in-laws waiting."
"Connexion?"
“To Man's parents.”
I asked again:
“They know that house is not Lam Dieu's, right?”
The other side of the phone suddenly went silent. I smiled softly.
“It seems like I don't know.”
The call ended. At five thirty in the afternoon, I returned to the old dormitory. The house door was wide open. The living room was even more bustling than yesterday. To Man's parents were sitting in the place of honor next to the table owner. Mrs. To was wearing a rather large gold necklace. As soon as she saw me, she asked:
“You are Tieu Dieu's older sister, right?”
I replied briefly:
“I am Lam Van.”
Mr. To looked at me from top to bottom.
“I heard you have an apartment in Nam Kieu?”
My mother immediately laughed and said:
“That's right. Just buy a house for him. A girl alone is a waste. We have already discussed that we will let Tieu Dieu and Man Man use it as the wedding house."
“Who discussed?”
The smile on her mother's face immediately stiffened. Mrs. To frowned.
“What's wrong? Don't you agree?
My father spoke up:
“Yesterday he was just a little angry. I came back today to apologize to everyone.”
Lam Dieu sat next to To Man, looking at me with eyes full of pride.
“Sister, don't embarrass everyone.”
To Man also gently chimed in:
“Sister, today my parents came specifically to discuss the marriage. Don't bring up yesterday's unpleasant events again."
I put my bag on the chair.
“So let's talk about marriage.”
I looked towards Mr. and Mrs. To.
“You two want a wedding house, right?”
Mrs. To nodded.
“It's not that we're greedy.”
“Who gets married now and isn't like that? Man Man married there, so why would she rent a house?
I asked again:
“What about the bride price?”
My father immediately replied:
“188,000 yuan, the family will take care of it.”
I looked at him.
“Where does our family get money?”
Mother immediately interrupted:
“That matter doesn't need you to manage.”
Lam Dieu laughed:
“Sister, don't you send money home every month? Consider contributing a little more joy to your brother.”
I laughed.
“Use my money to get you a wife.”
“It's really fun.”
