Chapter 7
Chapter 7 — One Card, Exposing the Whole Family
After eating, my father called me and my brother to the study. Mom stayed downstairs, quietly peeling fruit for us. In the study room, the scent of incense spreads gently, the space is quiet but solemn. Dad sat behind a large wooden chair, with a rare serious expression on his face, motioning for my brother and I to sit down opposite him.
“Nhuoc Nhien, tell dad the truth.”
“Aside from today, has the Ly family done anything else that is too outrageous?”
I shook my head, my voice slowing down.
"The other things are just petty conveniences, I don't take them to heart."
“It's me who's too subjective.”
Dad waved his hand and his voice was calm.
“It's not your fault.”
“They hid it too well.”
"Or maybe... it's because our family gives too much, causing them to develop unnecessary greed."
He turned to my brother.
“Tu Lang, how well do you understand Ly Hao's company?”
He pondered for a moment and then replied, his voice calm but sharp.
“A small-scale design-build company with no core technology.”
“Mainly relying on relationships to receive individual projects.”
“Ly Hao is a project manager, has normal abilities but is very resourceful.”
"I did some research, next month our group has a resort package, his company will also participate."
"He has been preparing for a long time, just waiting until after getting married, relying on his family's relationship to win the project."
After listening, my heart grew cold little by little. It turns out that this marriage was a carefully calculated game from the beginning. He married me, not only for money, but also for the Tu family's resources and connections. My father smiled coldly, his eyes became sharp.
“The calculation is quite good.”
“He thought that by marrying my daughter, he could climb into the Tu family.”
“It's truly a daydream.”
He looked at my brother, his voice decisive.
“Tu Lang, report down.”
"All companies belonging to Tu Thi Group, cut off all cooperation with Ly Hao's company."
“At the same time, send a message to close partners.”
“They will understand what to do.”
He nodded, his eyes cold as knives.
“I understand, Dad.”
"Cut off his source of life, see what else he can use to buy a BMW for his sister."
Dad turned to me again, his voice softening a bit.
“Nhuoc Nhien, how do you want to handle this matter?”
“Dad respects every decision you make.”
I was silent for a few seconds then raised my head, my eyes determined.
“I want a divorce.”
“The sooner the better.”
“I don't want to be associated with that person, with that family, for another minute.”
Dad nodded, his eyes showing satisfaction.
"This is Tu Chan Hoa's daughter. If you can hold it, you can let it go."
“You don't need to worry about this.”
“I will invite the best lawyer to handle it.”
"Make sure you completely withdraw from this drama, they can't have anything to do with you even a little bit."
He paused and then added.
“As for the dowry, the video recording is the best evidence.”
"It was a personal pre-marital gift, it has nothing to do with the Ly family."
“Legally, they don't get a penny.”
My heart finally felt lighter. Having your family standing behind you... is truly a luxury of peace. At that moment, my brother spoke up, his voice cold.
“One more thing.”
"The fact that Ly Hao secretly took my card is very serious."
“Even if it is not successful, the act of incomplete theft is still illegal.”
“We can absolutely retain the right to criminal prosecution.”
“This will be the strongest card in the divorce negotiation process.”
Dad looked him, eyes full of appreciation. Just as we were still discussing, there was a light knock on the study door. Mom walked in, holding a plate of cut fruit.
“What are you three talking about so seriously?”
She put down the plate, her voice a bit hesitant.
“Just now, I received a phone call from Luu Mai.”
"She cried and said she knew she was wrong, so please advise me."
"Tell Ly Hao to come to your house tomorrow to apologize."
My brother smiled coldly.
“Sorry, it's just a cat crying over a mouse, there must be an intention.”
“It didn't feel hard, now it's soft.”
Dad held a piece of apple and gave it to me, his eyes calm but profound.
“Just let them come.”
“I also want to see… what else they can do.”
