Chapter 4
Chapter 4 — Phong Gia Chi Han
Sure enough, when the party ended, people silently covered my mouth and nose. When he woke up, he was on the bed, more precisely, in the arms of a man. Phap Hanh Canh used the tip of his nose to rub my face and smiled intimately:
“My Chi Nguyet, where do you want to hide?”
I looked at him in shock, my body trembling slightly in fear. He seemed unaware, just gently stroking his hair:
“The Queen Mother is watching you too closely. If it weren't for tonight's palace banquet, it would have been difficult for me to find a chance to take you back.”
He lowered his eyes, his fingers slid down my tears, then suddenly tightened his grip on my neck:
“It's better to live in harmony than to be with me, do you want to die?”
The voice was heavy, the pupils were filled with anger:
“Do you know where you will marry? In that barbaric place, a princess who marries is even more vile than a slave, anyone can despise her.
That Hun Han is over seventy, has a concubine, children and grandchildren... So, you are willing to suffer humiliation there, but you don't want to stay with me?" Perhaps it was an illusion, I glimpsed in Phap Hanh Canh's eyes, a flash of irrepressible pain. He coldly scoffed, the back of his hand was pale and the blue veins stood out: "Because you escaped from me, you won't even be needed in your next life. Should I praise you for being stupid, or scold you for being cruel?" Tears immediately welled up in my eyes. I hugged my neck and tried my best to shake my head. Behind the screen, the pearl curtains swayed slightly, and the eunuch's voice came, low:
“Your Majesty, there is urgent news at the border.”
The emperor coldly shouted:
“Go away!”
The other person hesitated for a moment, then cautiously continued:
“It's a personal soldier brought by General Phong Du, it's an important matter, I hope your majesty will take a look.”
The green curtain fluttered for a long time in the solitude atmosphere. The Emperor took a deep breath, then suddenly let me go.

That night, he refused to let me leave. In just a moment, not even one stick of incense could be used up. When he returned, a smile appeared on the corners of his lips and his expression changed completely. No longer making things difficult, on the contrary, he ordered the eunuch to take me back to the Queen Mother's palace, waiting for the day of marriage. I asked the eunuch what exactly happened. He closed his mouth:
“When the report comes, the princess will understand.”
That night I didn't sleep a wink. Princess Chieu Hanh said goodbye with red eyes, then stepped onto the palanquin. Before leaving, the Queen Mother personally advised:
“Now that the court is defeated more and more, the Huns' ambitions do not stop at peace talks, nor will they accept a princess to get along with.
Although Phong Du is a young general, he has a great reputation. If he is truly dead, the Huns will no longer be afraid, lest they will tear up the agreement and kill themselves on the way to pick up the bride... you must take care of yourself." I carry a heavy burden on my journey. Unexpectedly, the Queen Mother's words would come true. Dai Yen is still peaceful in the world. As soon as they exited Son Hai Customs, the Hun army rushed in to block the reunion. Although the escort troops were elite, a few people were still unable to defeat a large number. I just felt the palanquin shaking violently. Arrows randomly pierced the canopy of the palanquin, filling the ears with the tragic sound of killing. Not long after, someone reached in, wanting to pull me out. I tightened my grip on my dagger and without hesitation cut off one of his fingers. But in the end, he was still dragged down by many people. The break-even resolution has been set. Now that Phong Du is considered dead, the Huns are no longer afraid and want to swallow Dai Yen whole. A friendly princess, to them, was completely useless. I fell to the ground, my hands and feet cold. Suddenly I heard the sound of horse hooves in the distance. The blade flashed like lightning. The person who just laughed lewdly at me collapsed. Right after that, someone hugged me around my back and lifted me onto the horse; A strong hand holds me tightly so I don't fall. I turned my head in panic and immediately met a pair of cold, deep eyes. He protected me with one hand and gently said to the remaining Huns:
“Princess of Yen, never got along before.”
8
When all the Huns were captured by the Phong Du army, I still looked at him blankly. Noticing my gaze, Phong Du tilted his head and slightly raised his eyebrows:
“Princess, are you scared?”
His voice was calm, not respectful, but still had a hint of teasing. I tighten my sleeves:
“Don't you need to get along anymore?”
“That's right.”
Standing a few steps away from me, Phong Du calmly explained:
“It's all just a trick. You're the bait, letting the Huns break the treaty.
I pretended to be defeated, pretended to be dead, and took the opportunity to lead a large army to counterattack, destroy the Huns and neighboring tribes, and forever avoid disaster for Dai Yen.
"For that reason, I told His Majesty one day in advance. Why didn't His Majesty tell you?"
I was stunned. No wonder that night, the emperor easily let me leave. He knew I would return. In his eyes, I am just a bird on a string. Unexpectedly, it spread its wings and flew far away, finally falling back into his hands. The will to hold on for so long suddenly collapsed. I turned pale, hugged my shirt tightly, didn't want to say more, just wanted to leave quickly.
