Chapter 6
Chapter 6 — Phong Gia Chi Han
Not willing to go to a remote frontier to suffer, nor willing to let my parents die unjustly. I took the opportunity to run away, and was later adopted by an infertile couple. When I was of age, they intended to find a good place for me, but I asked them to find a way to bring me into the palace. Compared to the maids of mandarin families, my status is low, I am only assigned to do heavy work. During the first seven years, I risked my life and suffered, and finally got the manager's attention. At that time, the new emperor was crowned, the harem was short of people, I was assigned to Phuong Nghi palace to take care of flowers and plants. I thought I would have a chance to meet Phong Du again. Who would have thought that he would ask himself to guard the border, fighting for many years, rarely returning to the capital. Even the queen - his biological sister - had not met him many times. Then one day, the queen presented me to the emperor. The first night of service, he tortured me all night long. Early in the morning, I returned tired to Phuong Nghi palace, and was punished by the queen to kneel until noon. In a blur, I saw a tall, thin figure coldly entering the hall. The Queen's joyful voice rang out in her ears:
“Brother!”
I glared, meeting the teenager's indifferent gaze. He just glanced past, quickly withdrew his eyes, and did not recognize me. Like that emperor. His footsteps never stopped for me.

When I woke up, I was in Phong Du's tent. He stayed awake, just quietly looking at the scar on my hand, his eyes gloomy. Like the trembling kiss he placed in my ear the night before, with his chaotic movements full of desire, mixed with whispers:
"Sorry, I made you suffer for many years."
He hugged me tightly, as if he wanted to crush me, his handsome face covered with self-blame. In the past, his duke's palace and the crown prince were at odds, favoring his younger sister, so he chose to support the one who was not favored - the current emperor. The demise of the Crown Prince and his entire family was all arranged by the Duke's government. The sunlight poured in, Phong Du saw the bruise on my neck, his eyes suddenly tightened:
“Did the emperor do it?”
His aura darkened and his anger surged.
"Perhaps he was sincere towards you, so he asked me to secretly take you home."
I said softly:
“So are you still going to give me back to him now?”
He closed his eyes and asserted:
“Of course not.”
"I will let you return to the capital as the eldest princess in glory. I will also annul your marriage to Chieu Hanh and become married to you."
He looked at me tremblingly:
“Are you willing to marry me?”
I paused, then smiled:
“Of course.”

The Huns plotted to kill the princess and tried to tear up the treaty and restart the war. But the Yen army ambushed and destroyed him, his vitality was greatly injured, and he did not dare to look at the Central Plains for a hundred years. Phong Du Khai returned to the court, his position was glorious. The world is peaceful, the nation is happy. The emperor's face alone is not pleasant to look at. According to his plan, the fake eldest princess had to die, so Phong Du gave it back to him as a gift. But in reality, I am still standing right in front of you, as the eldest princess, smiling:
“Your Majesty, long time no see.”
His fist clenched tightly, his face still calm:
“It's good to return.”
He looked at me:
"Stay in the palace tonight, my brothers and sisters will build up our friendship again."
I lowered my eyes and did not answer. Phong Du raised his voice:
“I have a request.”
“I don't need gold, silver or title, I just want Your Majesty to take charge and dissolve the engagement between me and Princess Chieu Hanh.”
In the corner of her eyes, the normally cold Queen Mother also showed satisfaction. Chieu Hanh looked at me, showing gratitude. I smiled softly at her.
“Small matter.”
The Emperor did not want the Queen Mother and the Duke's palace to unite, so he agreed:
"Khanh is a public servant, if you have loyal intentions, I will definitely be in charge."
Phong Du slowly raised his eyebrows:
“I hope your majesty keeps his word.”
The emperor calmly said:
“Of course. As long as the woman is a suitable match, I will immediately grant the marriage."
“Thank you, Your Majesty.”
Phong Du suddenly laughed. He stepped aside and held my hand, each word clear:
“I admire the eldest princess, please let Your Majesty and the Queen Mother be satisfied.”

The scene immediately fell into silence. The Queen trembled and cried out:
“Brother! How can you marry her? Do you know that she was originally just a servant in my palace? How could you…”
Before he could finish his words, he was stopped by Phong Du's sharp gaze. The queen was silent, her eyes red. The emperor's face then changed, his gaze cold:
“You want to marry her?”
As if he had just woken up, he burst into cold laughter repeatedly:
“Phong Du, are you really determined? You want to marry her?”
Phong Du smiled:
“Is Your Majesty planning to go back on your word?”
The Queen Mother frowned:
“The emperor and king say you can't break faith, so why don't you agree to give them full satisfaction?”
The emperor was silent for a long time. Then turned to me:
“And you, are you also satisfied?”
I smiled:
“I love you, general.”
As if hearing the joke, he burst into silent laughter.
“Very good.”
He leaned back in his chair, his voice unusually hoarse:
“I give you my kiss.”
The words just fell. The Queen suddenly stood up, her eyes bloodshot.
