Chapter 18
Chapter 18 — Return to Eighteen
In the hospital room, Uc Nhue Dao lay on the bed, her face pale. Seeing Lac Tu Hanh push open the door and enter, her eyes immediately turned red. "Mr. Tu Hanh, where are you going? I thought you left me too..." Lac Tu Hanh sat down on the edge of the bed: "I'm going to find Nhue Ninh." Uc Nhue Dao's expression stiffened for a moment, then bowed her head, her voice weak: "Is she... okay?" "She's okay." Lac Tu Hanh paused for a moment, "She refused to see you." Uc Nhue Dao looked up, tears welling up in the corners of her eyes: "It's all because of you. If it wasn't for you, she wouldn't hate you so much." "Brother Tu Hanh, maybe you don't care about me anymore, just go take care of me, I'll be fine alone..." Lac Tu Hanh looked at her haggard appearance and sighed: "Don't say such stupid things." Uc Nhue Dao bit her lip and continued: "You said did she really take my parents to jail? What should I do now..." Lac Tu Hanh pondered. He didn't know how to answer. The words Uc Nhue Ninh said today made him realize that this incident was no longer within his ability to intervene. "I don't know either." He carefully opened his mouth, "Nhue Ninh is the valedictorian of the natural class, the Department of Education has also gotten involved." Uc Nhue Dao's tears suddenly stopped falling. She bowed her head, her bangs obscuring her facial expressions. After a few seconds of silence, she let go of Lac Tu Hanh's sleeve, her voice as light as smoke: "I know." Lac Tu Hanh noticed something unusual: "Nhue Dao?" "Mr. Tu Hanh, I want to be alone for a while." Uc Nhue Dao lay down, turned her back to him, "You go out first." Lac Tu Hanh hesitated, then finally stood up: "I'll just stand right outside, just call me if anything happens." The moment the door closed, Uc Nhue Dao opened her eyes. Those eyes didn't have a single tear, just filled with cold hatred. She sat up, took out her phone, and opened the chat box with Australia Nhue Ninh. The most recent message was still from a few days ago, Uc Nhue Dao texted "Sister, please go home", but Uc Nhue Ninh did not respond. She stared at that profile picture for a long time, typed a line of text and then deleted it. You can't find her directly, she won't relent. Uc Nhue Dao leaned against the headboard, closed her eyes and thought for a moment, then dialed Lac Tu Hanh's number. The phone rang two times, Lac Tu Hanh picked up: "Nhue Dao? What's going on?" "Brother Tu Hanh..." Uc Nhue Dao's voice sobbed, "I don't want to live anymore. My parents were arrested, my sister abandoned me, what's the point of me living anymore..." Lac Tu Hanh's voice immediately became tense: "Nhue Dao! Don't be rude! Where are you?" "I'm in the hospital room... but I feel so stuffy, I want to go to the field." "Just stay there! I'll be right back!" Uc Nhue Dao hung up the phone, the corners of her lips curled up slightly. She stood up, walked to the window, pushed the glass door open, the wind from the sixth floor rushed in and ruffled her hair. She took a step back, stood close to the window sill, waiting for Lac Tu Hanh to push the door open and enter. In the hallway, the sound of hurried footsteps echoed. The door was pushed open forcefully. Lac Tu Hanh rushed in, saw her standing close to the window, his face immediately turned pale: "Nhue Dao! What are you doing! Get down now!" Uc Nhue Dao turned her head back, tears rolling down her cheeks. "Brother Tu Hanh, please let me die, I don't want to involve you." "I'm crazy!" Lac Tu Hanh rushed forward, grabbed Uc Nhue Dao and pulled him down from the window, the two of them fell to the floor. His arm hit the foot of the bed, causing him so much pain that he broke out in a cold sweat. Uc Nhue Dao lay face down in his chest, crying until his whole body was shaking: "I don't want to live anymore..." Lac Tu Hanh hugged her, his heart pounding like it was about to burst. The sixth floor, just one step slower, she actually jumped down. "I'm here by your side, I will
always by your side." Uc Nhue Dao cried for a long time before gradually stopping, holding his hand tightly and not letting go: "Mr. Tu Hanh, can you help my parents?" Your family knows many people, can you find a good lawyer? I'm begging you..." Her tears fell drop by drop, her voice filled with desperate pleas. Lac Tu Hanh looked at her red, swollen eyes, thinking back to the scene of her standing at the edge of the window just now, then ventured: "Okay, I'll help you think of a way." He took out his phone, found the lawyer's number that Lac Man had introduced him to, and sent a message. Uc Nhue Dao looked at him texting, sobbed and said: "Brother Tu Hanh, you are so good to me. In this world, there's only you who's good to me..." Lac Tu Hanh stroked her hair, but didn't answer. After arranging for Uc Nhue Dao to go to bed, Lac Tu Hanh left the hospital room and went to the end of the hallway to make a call. The lawyer answered very quickly, the two discussed the situation. Lac Tu Hanh was about to text back, then suddenly discovered that he forgot his wallet in the hospital room, there were important papers inside. Lac Tu Hanh returned, and at the same moment he pushed open the door of the hospital room, his footsteps stopped. Uc Nhue Dao was sitting on the bed, holding the phone, without a trace of tears on her face. Her expression was cold and smug that Lac Tu Hanh had never seen, and there was even a smile at the corner of her mouth.
