Chapter 7
Chapter 7 — Seven Years of Silence, One Life of Freedom
My voice is not loud. But the entire meeting room was so quiet that you could clearly hear the sound of the air conditioner operating.
"First thing."
I pushed a stack of documents to the middle of the table.
"Nien Vien Fund officially exercises the rights of controlling shareholder."
"Veto of year-end equity incentive plan approved on December 31."
"From today."
"That plan is officially invalid."
"All documents signed..."
"It's all ineffective."
Lam Hieu San's hand placed under the table clenched tightly. Tran Thieu Quan's face also darkened. But this time... He still tried to hold back.
"The second thing."
I raised my head, my eyes fell on Lam Hieu San. She also looked straight back at me, slightly raising her chin.
"Before joining Thua Thinh Biological Group, Ms. Lam Hieu San worked at Dang Due Investment Fund as Investment Director."
"The legal representative and also the actual controller of Dang Due Investment Fund..."
"It's Chu Dinh Van."
I stopped for a beat. In the meeting room, very quiet noises began to appear.
"Three years ago."
"Chu Dinh Van once launched a malicious takeover targeting Thua Thinh."
"But it was stopped by the founding team and the company's legal advisors."
Lam Hieu San's face finally changed.
"What nonsense are you talking about?"
"I didn't say any nonsense."
I turned to look at Wei Nhien. Wei Nhien stood up and turned on the projector. Three bank transaction records immediately appeared on the screen.
"These are three large sums of money transferred to Ms. Lam Hieu San's personal account within a year before she joined Thua Thinh."
"The remittance party is a company called Due Sang Commercial Consulting."
The screen switches to the next page.
"The only shareholder and legal representative of Due Sang Commercial Consulting..."
"It's Chu Dinh Van."
The screen continues to change. This time it's a photo of an email. The sender is Lam Hieu San's personal email address. The recipient address contains the phrase "zhoudingwen". The email content is only one sentence.
"Everything went according to plan. He trusted me completely."
Date sent... It was two years ago. In the meeting room. Everyone turned to look at Lam Hieu San at the same time. Her face changed from pale... To pale... Then red again. She jumped up.
"All of this is fake!"
"Where did you get them?"
"The company's legal records storage department still stores notarized copies of all original documents."
Wei Nhien calmly replied.
"And bank statements are collected through a legal information verification process."
"General Manager Tran!"
Lam Hieu San quickly turned to Tran Thieu Quan, his voice became shrill.
"Look!"
"What is she doing?"
"She's slandering me!"
Tran Thieu Quan still sat in place. Didn't move at all. His eyes slowly moved from the email photo on the screen to Lam Hieu San's face. Then go back to that email. Date of email... It was two years ago. It was also the month that Lam Hieu San proposed the "Strategic Adjustment Plan", proposing to bring a large amount of outside investment capital into the company.
"Thieu Quan!"
Lam Hieu San no longer calls him General Manager Tran. There was clear panic in his voice. Tran Thieu Quan slowly turned head looking at her.
"'He trusts me completely.'"
His voice was very quiet.
"The person you said in the email..."
"Is it me?"
Lam Hieu San's lips trembled.
"It's not..."
"That email..."
"It's something else..."
"The third thing."
My voice cut through all her excuses. All eyes in the meeting room once again turned towards me.
"Considering that Ms. Lam Hieu San has a serious conflict of interest and at the same time violates the principle of honesty at work..."
"From today."
"Terminate her entire position at Thua Thinh Biological Group."
"Cancel all eligibility to receive equity incentives."
I stopped. Calmly look at her.
"The human resources department will complete all termination procedures before the end of business today."
Lam Hieu San's whole body seemed to be drained of strength. She took half a step back. His back hit the chair hard.
"You can't do that!"
Her voice was completely distorted.
"Tran Thieu Quan!"
"Say something!"
"I can't let her treat you like that!"
Tran Thieu Quan is still sitting in the chair. Head bowed low. Don't look at Lam Hieu San. Don't look at me either. One hand rests on the forehead. His other hand was clenched into a fist, his knuckles were white. The entire meeting room was as quiet as the bottom of deep water. I slowly stood up. Take a look at everyone. As I walked to the door. A voice suddenly rang out from behind.
