Chapter 3
Chapter 3 — Sincere Feelings Are Considered Cheap by Others
4
I shouted, but it made Trieu Chi Kiet look like he was facing fear. His whole body stiffened, his facial expression was uncontrollable. After that, he didn't say another word. Just gently picked me up and put me back on the bed. He didn't dare ask me what I saw or heard today. Because he knows, once he asks, everything will be over. For some reason, this time his heart was filled with insecurity and fear. It felt like something was slowly leaving him, no longer under his control. A feeling… that he couldn't accept! After covering me with a blanket, he sat down next to the bed and smiled wryly:
“Yeu Yeu, today you are not stable, you should rest first, we will talk another day.”
Leaving, he gently closed the door. When I opened my eyes again, it was noon. Trieu Chi Kiet is not home. I put on my work coat and hurried to the meat market. What I didn't expect was... Trieu Chi Kiet appeared at the food market again. My small stall, for some reason, was filled with meat buyers. He was busy cutting meat and weighing it for customers. Uncle Ly pulled me aside, his voice full of surprise:
"Yeu Yeu, your husband is truly rich! As soon as he arrived, a whole crowd of people came to buy meat. Look at the other butchers, everyone glared so hard they were about to explode!"
I looked around and saw that all the customers were flocking to my booth. But very quickly, I also guessed the reason. Surely they came here... to please him. A general manager like him, of course, has "luck and fortune". I walked over, snatched the boning knife from Trieu Chi Kiet's hand, frowned and asked:
“Trieu Chi Kiet, why did you come to the market?”
He lost his knife, but was still busy weighing meat for customers.
"Of course you came to help me sell meat! Look, there are so many people buying it, maybe it will all be sold out soon!"
At this moment, I suddenly realized... Trieu Chi Kiet's success is not without reason. Before, no matter what I said, he would never step foot into the food market. Yet now, he actively sells and cuts meat.
“Girl, hurry up! I want this piece, don't sell it to anyone else!”
I hadn't had time to think much, but the bustling scene before my eyes pulled me back to reality. An old woman wearing a coarse cloth dress saw that I had not acted yet and was about to pick up a knife and cut the meat myself. I quickly put my thoughts aside and focused on selling all the remaining meat. Until the last piece of meat is sold out. I breathed a sigh of relief. Trieu Chi Kiet transferred me some money and excitedly said:
“Yeu Yeu, this is the money I sold meat today, can you see if I'm missing it?”
I glanced at it and started calculating in my head. How can it be missing? This is clearly an exorbitant price! They used the money to buy beef to buy pork! I rubbed my tense temples. I originally intended not to expose everything so early, but now it seems that if I don't say it clearly, it will be even more troublesome later.
“Trieu Chi Kiet, you don't have to do that! I know—”
But unexpectedly, he immediately found an excuse to leave.
“Yeu Yeu, if there's anything going on, let's go home and talk about it later, I'll go pay the debt first Satisfied!"
I know this is just an excuse. His eyes avoided, not even daring to look directly at me. Looking at his back as he left, I suddenly blurted out a sentence:
"It's okay, if you're too busy, don't come back tonight."
Trieu Chi Kiet immediately stopped walking. Soon, his face darkened and he turned to look at me very seriously.
“I will definitely come back! No matter how late, I will come back!”

After Trieu Chi Kiet left, I started cleaning up the stall, collecting the remaining bones. At this moment, a figure appeared in front of me. Reflexively, I raised my head and spoke:
“Sorry customers, today's pork is sold out.”
After speaking, I realized that the person in front of me was... Ky Thien Thien. She was wearing a small hat, carrying a bag in her hand, and her pure white dress was completely inappropriate for the crowded, dirty food market scene. Ky Thien Thien contemptuously waved his hand in front of his nose, frowning to show discomfort:
“It's so rotten! As a girl, I don't know how to find a more sophisticated job, but I kill pigs and sell pork. It's so stinky it's scary!”
Even though I don't know what her purpose is here... But it's obvious that she wants to cause trouble with me. If so, I don't need to be polite.
“Flower shop owner, if there's something wrong, just say it directly. I'm both ugly and dirty, what if I accidentally dirty your dress?"
Having said that, I deliberately swept the scraps of meat and bones on the table towards Ky Thien Thien. She let out a shrill scream.
“You stinking woman who kills pigs! Do you know how much this dress costs? Even if you sell it, you still won't have enough to buy it!”
I clenched my fist and looked at her coldly.
“What if you don't have enough money to buy it? Could it be that you can buy it?”
Ky Thien Thien arrogantly raised his head high, even deliberately held up his bag in front of me to show off.
“I can't buy it, but I can wear it and use it! What about you?”
“Chi Kiet bought it for me, but he didn't buy it for you. What does that mean? Which means she has no value at all! What if she is a legal wife? You have no status at all!”
“Women kill pigs, the one who is not loved is the third person!”
I have decided to give up this marriage and also give up Trieu Chi Kiet. But in that moment, Ky Thien Thien's words still made me so angry that all the emotions in my heart flared up. I grabbed the leftover organs on the table and threw them straight at her. Ky Thien Thien screamed miserably and jumped up as if his tail had been stepped on.
“Your mouth stinks, so let me make it a little stinkier.”
“Even if I kill pigs, the money I make is cleaner than the way you make money!”
In just a moment, her white dress was stained with bright red blood stains, and the strong fishy smell stuck. Her face was twisted, angrily pointing at me.
“You have to pay! This is my first time wearing this dress, you have to compensate!”
I calmly took out my phone and searched for Trieu Chi Kiet's number.
“Pay money? Okay, wait a minute, I'll call Trieu Chi Kiet so he can pay you back."
With just one sentence, Ky Thien Thien's face immediately darkened. I knew it right away, she didn't dare to blatantly oppose me in front of Trieu Chi Kiet! There was no other way, she could only throw back one sentence full of hatred:
“Just wait, one day you will have to kneel down and beg me!”
I laughed softly. Today was the first time Ky Thien Thien had to run away from the food market like a mouse. That evening, Trieu Chi Kiet returned very late. He knows my schedule clearly. Deliberately waited until I fell asleep before sneaking back. But this time, as soon as he set foot on the bed, he was discovered by me. Before I could open my mouth, he spoke first.
"Sorry Love, did I wake you up? I'm going to sleep on the sofa."
After speaking, he hugged his pillow and walked out, not giving me a chance to say anything more. I quickly sat up, looked towards Trieu Chi Kiet lying on the sofa, and opened my mouth:
“Get a divorce, there's no point in living like this anymore.”
He lay still, without any reaction. I don't give up, I continue to say:
"Trieu Chi Kiet, I know you haven't slept yet, you heard every word I said. If you divorce, you will be free, do whatever you want, no need to hide it from me anymore."
He was silent for a long time, then finally replied:
"Let's talk about tomorrow, go to sleep."
I really don't understand what he wants. Two hours before dawn, I prepared to go to Uncle Ly's place to get the pig. Stepping out into the living room, I discovered... Trieu Chi Kiet had already left. Is he afraid I will mention divorce again? At this point, I don't have the heart to worry about him anymore. Whether divorced or not, life must continue. Killing pigs, selling meat, making money – it all has to continue.
