Chapter 4
Chapter 4 — Snow Covered Jade Boi
Warm liquid flowed down her cheeks, obscuring her vision. The world before my eyes was dyed crimson. Pho Trinh saw the blood, the arm that was throwing the object suddenly stopped in mid-air, panic flashed in his eyes. But he was quickly overwhelmed by anger, and he shouted loudly:
“Get out! Get out of the capital! Don't let me see you again!”
Around the guests were pointing and talking, their faces full of contempt. I raised my hand and casually wiped away the blood on my face. From his sleeve, he slowly pulled out a short dagger.
"Protect the general! She wants to execute!" Someone screamed in panic.
The guards immediately pulled out their knives and surrounded me. Pho Trinh instinctively pulled Nhuy Nhi behind him, staring at me with wary eyes. I looked at his alert appearance and just felt ridiculous. Don't pay attention to the flashing lights all around. I grabbed a long strand of hair by my ear, swung the knife, the blade fell neatly. The broken hair gently fell to the ground, mixing into the patchy puddle of sacrificial wine.
“If you end up being a husband and wife, there will be no doubt about your love.”
My voice was hoarse, each word felt like blood being forced from my throat.
“Today we will break up, our kindness will end.”
"Fu Cheng, in this life and death, we will never see each other again."
I threw the dagger to the ground, making a clear impact sound. Pho Trinh looked at the broken lock of hair on the ground. My heart felt like it was being squeezed by an invisible hand, missing a large piece. An unprecedented panic surged up, as if something extremely precious was completely leaving him. He opened his mouth to say something, but his throat felt tight. I won't look at Pho Trinh again. Turn around and rush straight into the white rain outside. Heavy rain poured down, instantly drenching my entire body. Behind him, Nhuy Nhi was secretly proud, the corners of her lips curved up in a victorious smile. Unbeknownst to him, the powerful military general, his hands hanging at his side, was trembling violently.

The rain was pouring like a galaxy falling upside down. I ran through a few streets, one shoe slipped off, the bottom of my foot was cut by pebbles until it was bloody. One slip under my foot, I fell heavily into the mud and water, cold rain immediately entered my nose. I choked and coughed, trying to get up, but my limbs were as heavy as lead. Behind him, there was the sound of rushing horse hooves - that was the typical ironclad sound of the Pho family.
"Over there! Take it back! The general told you to take it alive!"
The sound gets closer and closer, like a death spell ringing in my ears. I lay face down in the mud, desperately closing my eyes. In the end, Pho Trinh still refused to let me go, even the last bit of dignity he wanted to take away. However, the cold iron chain in my imagination never came down. A pair of hot arms suddenly appeared, embracing me from the mud, hugging me tightly. That chest is as warm as fire, even though the clothes are soaked, I can still feel the fiery vitality there.
"Ha Ha! I'm here! Don't be afraid!"
The teenager's voice brought with it sobs and trembles, ringing in my ears like thunder. I suddenly opened my eyes. Using the lightning that tore across the night sky, I clearly saw the person in front of me. Pho Trinh was eighteen years old. That sparkling white silver armor was the battle armor when he first went into battle, back in the day, I stayed up all night cleaning him so that not a single speck of dust was left behind. His facial features were as sharp as if carved with a knife, full of youthful spirit, but at this moment he was filled with panic and immense heartache. The jade pendant shaped like a phoenix on the side made a clear clicking sound. Completely broken. Turning into countless tiny points of light like fireflies, they simultaneously melted into the teenager's body. He became incredibly real, no longer the soul that only knew how to scream in the pearl. Young man Pho Trinh looked at the bleeding wound on my forehead, his whole body trembling. He raised his hand and slapped me fiercely in the face.
“Chat!” — crisp echo.
"I'm an animal! How could I hurt you!"
“Obviously, he swore to protect her all his life, how could it turn out like this!”
I tremblingly reached out my hand, my fingertips gently touching his cheek. Warm. Soft. Obviously true.
“Pho Trinh…?”
I didn't dare to believe it, I thought I was delirious before I died. The teenager grabbed my hand, placed it on his wet face, and gently rubbed it.
"It's me, Ha Ha, the Pho Trinh from ten years ago."
The sound of rushing horse hooves was heard from behind, close by. Several guards from the Pho palace held their reins and swung their whips high and low.
"Over there! Quickly arrest the lady!"
The lightning lit up again, illuminating the murderous face of young Pho Trinh. He suddenly turned his head, his eyes as fierce as a wolf's, locking on those guards. As soon as those guys saw his face clearly, their souls disappeared.
“Devil… devil!”
“Why are there two generals?!”
Although his face is youthful, that innate aura is engraved deep into his bones, beyond doubt. Young man Pho Trinh did not give them a chance to recover. One hand hugged me tightly, the other held the reins of the nearest horse. Wrist moved slightly. The burly guard was yanked straight down from his horse, fell down in the mud, and screamed miserably. The young man threw himself onto the horse, his movements were smooth and strong, just like his demeanor when he was a hero on the battlefield.
