Chapter 8 — Ten Tickets and Blood Debt

Ticket number 09 belonged to a worker who died in a welding furnace explosion in the past.

Van finds the sender's name via the account code. It was the account of a shell company, at the same address as the old steel factory. Her father worked there before moving to the shipyard.

They discovered that Bach did not create the debt himself. He received orders from Mr. Lam, the factory owner, who bought insurance for many workers and kept the compensation money.

Mr. Lam contacted and requested a private meeting. He said that if Van remained silent, she would receive the entire 09 bill reward and her father's house would be returned.

“You know I don't need a promise,” Van said.

“Everyone needs money.”

“I need the names of the people you killed.”

Lam gave her a file. Including the insurance policy, crime scene photos and father's signature. Genuine signature, but date of signing is corrected.

Van placed the recorder on the table. Lam discovered it and smashed the glass of water. He did not admit anything more, but said enough for the lawyer to hear over the phone.

Phuc discovered that a page of the list had been torn off. Above the rest is the number 10, the name of a person who is not dead but is living under another identity. That person is Tam, a worker who has been missing since the beginning of the case.
