Chapter 6
Chapter 6 — The Crown Prince just got married, King Tinh is already waiting outside my room
The princess from before spoke again.
"Speaking of this, I suddenly remembered an old story. I heard that many years ago, His Highness Tinh Vuong once had a crush on a woman, but he couldn't get it, and to this day he still considers it a regret in his life. That woman seems to... also come from a martial arts background, just like my younger sister."
She deliberately prolonged her voice, speaking while observing my reaction.
“Do you know about this, sister?”
White moon light. My heart feels like it's being pricked by tiny needles. I shook my eyelashes, hiding the emotions in my eyes, my tone was bland.
"Don't know."
“Oh, little sister, you don't know.”
The other princess pretended to be surprised.
"I thought His Highness would mention it to your sister. Anyway..."
She paused for a moment, a hint of malice in her voice that was hard to detect.
“Anyway, I heard that between my sister and that person, the eye and eyebrow lines do have some similarities.”
All around immediately became quiet. All eyes were focused on me, carrying undisguised scrutiny and vague pity. It turns out that's it. It turns out that His Highness Tinh Vuong treated me well, but only because he saw me as someone else's shadow. A cold stream of humiliation spread from the bottom of my feet to my heart. I tightened my sleeves, my knuckles turned white. Just when I could barely keep the fake calmness on my face, a lazy yet familiar, smiling voice suddenly rang out from the garden entrance.
"I really didn't expect that you guys would be so interested in my old stories."
Everyone was startled at the same time and turned their heads to look towards the source of the sound. I saw Tieu Dien wearing a dark-colored python robe, standing under the moon cave door with his hands clasped together, the sunlight behind him outlined his tall, thin, straight figure. On his face was a faint smile, but his eyes were as cold as blades, slowly scanning the princess who had just spoken. Princess Vinh Gia's face immediately turned pale and she hurriedly stood up to bow.
“To…see His Royal Highness Tinh Vuong.”
The ladies in the garden also stood up in panic and bowed in unison. Tieu Dien slowly walked in, his eyes scanned the crowd, finally stopping on him. He walked in front of me, stopped, bowed slightly, his voice was not high, but loud enough for everyone to hear clearly.
“Have you been waiting for a long time?”
I looked at him in shock, momentarily forgetting to react. Why did he appear here? This is clearly the communal poetry of female relatives. He didn't wait for me to answer. He straightened up and turned to look at Princess Vinh Gia's pale face. The corner of his lips curled up into a smile.
"Prince Vinh Gia said just now, I once suspected that a woman was from a general family, but I couldn't get it."
Princess Vinh Gia's body trembled like a leaf in the wind, and she couldn't even complete her words.
“Goddess…Goddess is just listening to what others say…”
“Listen to what other people say.”
Tieu Dien laughed softly, but that laugh contained a bone-chilling coldness.
"So, does your lordship know what the name of the woman from the family that you suspect is?"
Princess Vinh Gia suddenly raised her head, her eyes filled with panic and confusion. Tieu Dien's eyes turned to me again. That look was as deep as a vortex, carrying expertise hot and hot, almost wanting to devour the other person, not hiding it at all. He reached out his hand, not to pull me, but to gently brush it across my temple, gently stroking a strand of hair that was tangled in the wind, his movements were so natural and intimate. Then, he looked up, looked at the group of people standing still like stone statues in the garden, and said each word very clearly.
"Her last name is Tham, her name is Tri Vi."
Time seemed to stop in that moment. I suddenly raised my head, my eyes went straight to his bottomless pupils, my mind was blank. What is he saying? Tham Tri Vi. The white moonlight that he missed for so many years... How is that possible? Princess Vinh Gia and the other noble ladies were also completely stunned, their mouths opened, not daring to believe what they had just heard, their eyes exchanged between me and Tieu Dien. As for Tieu Dien, it seems like he's just telling a simple truth that couldn't be simpler. He withdrew his hand, his voice returned to its usual indifference, but carried a pressure that did not allow for rebuttal.
“So, in the future, don't let me hear those baseless rumors again.”
His eyes swept over Princess Vinh Gia again, cold as ice.
“It bothers you.”
Princess Vinh Gia's legs were soft and she almost fell to the ground. Tieu Dien didn't bother to pay attention to them, looked down at me, his tone softened a bit.
“This place is dirty and noisy, nothing interesting.”
“Let me take her to see something more interesting.”
After speaking, he very naturally took my hand.
