Chapter 1
Chapter 1 — The Day I Overthrew My Husband's Family
Late at night, "little tam" sent me a photo of the bed. In the photo, she sticks close to my husband, smiling arrogantly as if she had just won a big match.
"Sister, your husband says you're cold. When you're with me, he's very enthusiastic."
I looked at the photo, my hands shaking little by little. But I don't cry. I took a screenshot, without saying another word, sent it directly to her parents. Accompanied by a sentence:
"Auntie, your daughter is really busy. Even when she sleeps, she has to send photos and reports, it's hard."
The next morning, my phone blew up. She texted continuously, her tone from arrogant to panic, begging me to delete the photos. He also said that her father grabbed her belt and chased and beat her three streets away. But what's more interesting is... Her whole family is now standing downstairs in my house. At half past eleven at night, Ly Thien Thien sent me a photo. In the photo, she was clinging tightly to my husband, Chu Van Ban, her bare shoulders exposed, her long hair tangled on the pillow, and she deliberately looked straight into the camera with a provocative, triumphant smile. Chu Van Ban was sleeping, his face tilted towards her, behind him was a set of gray bed sheets that I had personally chosen. Below the photo is a message: "Sister, your husband says you're cold, but when you're with me, he's very enthusiastic." I stared at the screen, my fingertips clenched until they trembled, anger like boiling water rolling in my chest. But I don't cry, because tears are the most useless thing in this world. I calmly took a screenshot and opened Ly Thien Thien's avatar, clearly remembering that her cover photo was a photo with her parents, a serious man and a woman who always smiled gently. I found her mother's WeChat, who enthusiastically made friends at a gathering and said we could discuss anything later. Yes, now it's time to talk a bit. I sent a screenshot, then sent the original photo, then found her father's phone number, used MMS to send another copy. After finishing everything, I texted her mother a paragraph: "Auntie, Thien Thien is late at night and still thinks of me. Even when she sleeps, she has to take photos and report, it's so hard for her."
“I just don't know if my aunt and uncle saw her so obediently and understanding after watching it.”
After sending, I turned off the phone and the world immediately became quiet. I walked into the bathroom, took a nice shower, the hot water flowed over my skin, washing away the disgusting feeling in my heart. In the mirror, my face was a bit pale, but my eyes were strangely bright. Tham Nguyet, I told myself, you weren't wrong, you were a traitor and an interloper, so the ones who have to pay the price are them. I returned to the bedroom, lay down on the bed in the living room, and the other bed I felt was dirty. A dreamless night. The next morning at exactly seven o'clock, my phone vibrated continuously, filled with messages from Ly Thien Thien.
"Tham Nguyet! Are you crazy?"
"What do you want to do! Did you send the photo to my parents?!"
“My dad is going to beat me to death!”
“I beg you, quickly explain to my parents, say this is just a misunderstanding!”
“Sister, I was wrong, I was really wrong!”
“Please delete me, I don't dare anymore!”
One by one the news passed by, I just felt funny, knowing this in advance, why did I do it from scratch. I didn't reply, blocked then deleted, a neat and decisive series of actions. But the more interesting story lies behind. At eight o'clock, I'm ready to go out When I did, the doorbell rang. I looked through my cat's eyes and saw three people standing in the hallway. Ly Thien Thien and her "gentle" parents, at this moment there was no kindness left on her mother's face, only bitterness and resentment remained. Her father's face was pale, he seemed to be holding a belt in his hand, and Ly Thien Thien hid behind them, her eyes were red and swollen, staring at my door. Her whole family was blocking my door, the doorbell was being pressed continuously as if trying to break the door open. The doorbell still rang frantically, but I didn't open it, but poured myself a glass of warm water and slowly drank it all. What's the hurry? I'm the one who should be in a hurry. Outside the door, the shrill scream of Ly Thien Thien's mother rang out: "Tham Nguyet! Open the door! What kind of cruel woman! What are your intentions!"
"Send that kind of photo to us! Do you want to force my family to death?! You can't keep your husband, and you still have the face to harm someone else's daughter!"
After listening to it, I just found it funny. This type of argument is truly endless. I stood in front of the door, didn't open it, just said coldly: "When your daughter sent me a picture of her bed in the middle of the night, why didn't you ask her what her intentions were?"
“When he wanted to force me to death, why didn't you ask him?”
There was silence outside for a moment, then Ly Thien Thien's cry rang out: "Mom! It's not like that! It was her husband who took the initiative to find me!" Her mother immediately regained her composure: "Listen! You're no good as a man! You're a wife, but you can't keep your husband, and you dare to cause trouble!"
“I tell you Tham Nguyet, if you don't give us an explanation today, this matter won't end!”
I smiled slightly: "Okay, I'll wait and see what you guys plan to do." I opened the door, and the three people outside were stunned by my sudden action. Ly Thien Thien's mother just raised her hand to point at me, intending to curse, but I glanced at the man next to me, in his hand was a belt.
“I ask a question, are you wearing this belt to teach your daughter or to come to my house to show off your power?”
He paused: “I…”
"If it's the former, then you're late. She's over twenty years old, so things should have been understood earlier."
"If it's the latter, my house has a camera, so I can still call the police now."
My voice was calm and cold. Ly Thien Thien has probably never seen me like this. In her impression, I was always gentle, polite, and spoke in moderation. She put her hands on her hips and put on a sour look, intending to cause trouble.
"Who are you threatening? You ruined my daughter's reputation! Today I must demand justice!"
"Fair?"
I looked at her, every word was clear.
“Your daughter, an unmarried girl, climbed into the bed of a married man.”
“Take a photo in the middle of the night and send it to the main house to provoke.”
“Now you want to be fair to me?”
“Auntie… do you still have face?”
She was silenced by me, stiff in place, her face as red as pig liver. At that moment, the elevator door opened. Chu Van Ban and my mother-in-law, Luu Ngoc Mai, walked out together. In her hand she also carried the bag of vegetables she had just bought. Seeing the scene in front of the door, she was stunned.
“What… what is this?”
As soon as Ly Thien Thien saw Chu Van Ban, her tears fell even harder. Chu Van Ban's face immediately turned pale. He looked at me, his eyes filled with panic and pleading. My mother-in-law just Looking at Ly Thien Thien crying like a pear flower caught in the rain, then looking at my cold face, I immediately understood seven or eight parts. She threw the bag of vegetables on the ground and rushed straight in front of me.
"Tham Nguyet! What are you causing trouble again!"
“People have already come to your door, what more do you want!”
“How could we in the Chu family marry a woman like you who doesn't know how to give birth? I can't even keep a man's heart!”
This is not the first time she said this. Every time we argued about the children, she used it to stab me straight in the heart. Before, I would be in pain. Now I just find it funny. Chu Van Ban also quickly intervened to make peace.
“Mom, stop talking!”
"Nguyet Nguyet, let's go inside and talk about something. Don't stand out here and let people watch you laugh."
He was about to reach out and pull me. I leaned away to avoid it.
"Laughingstock?"
