Chapter 4
Chapter 4 — The Day I Overthrew My Husband's Family
“Don't need anything?”
"So the text message you secretly sent to Chu Van Ban the other night, saying that ten percent of the shares is too little, it should be at least twenty percent, how to explain it?"
I gently shook the phone in my hand. On the screen is a chat I took from Chu Van Ban's phone. White letters on black background, clear and undeniable. Chu Van Hao's face immediately turned red like pig liver.
“I… I was just joking!”
I smiled faintly.
"So the story about you sneaking behind Chu Van Ban's back and telling your aunt that as long as she helps you gain control of the company, from now on the entire Chu family will be yours, is that a joke?"
As soon as these words were uttered, not only Chu Van Hao, but even Chu Van Ban suddenly raised his head. He looked at his mother, his eyes filled with disbelief.
“Are what she said… true?”
Luu Ngoc Mai's face immediately turned pale. She looked at Chu Van Hao, her eyes filled with panic.
"Van Hao! What nonsense are you talking about! When did you ever say those words!"
Chu Van Hao was forced to the limit by me. He knew today couldn't end well anymore, so he just let it all go and broke the pot and drowned the boat. He smiled coldly, looking at Luu Ngoc Mai.
“Auntie, when it comes to this, stop pretending.”
“You were the one who promised me before.”
"You said that Chu Van Ban would become a bankrupt anyway, and keeping such a large fortune would be a waste."
“I would rather let you take his place and continue the descendants of the Chu family.”
“In the future, won't the entire Chu family be yours?”
“Have you forgotten?”
Chu Van Hao's words were like the sharpest blade, piercing straight into Chu Van Ban's heart. He looked at his biological mother. The mother always said everything was because of him. It turned out that in her heart, he had long been just a waste, an object that could be sacrificed at any time. Chu Van Ban's eyes turned from surprise to pain, and in the end there was only complete despair. He was like a wounded animal, staring at Liu Yumei.
“Mom…” his voice was hoarse and choked.
“Is what he said… true?”
Luu Ngoc Mai's body staggered slightly, almost unable to stand. She looked at her son's desperate eyes, her lips moved but she couldn't utter a word. In her heart, the Zhou family's bloodline and that wealth... were more important than this "defective" son. Her silence… was the clearest answer.
“Ha…” Chu Van Ban suddenly burst out laughing.
The laughter was shrill, full of bitterness and self-mockery.
“Ha ha ha ha!”
He pointed at Luu Ngoc Mai, then pointed at Chu Van Hao.
“Good… really good!”
“One is my mother, one is my cousin!”
“You guys join together, plan my assets, plan my life!”
“I lived for thirty years… it turned out to be just a joke!”
He laughed until he trembled, then tears welled up in his eyes. A grown man, right in front of everyone, crying like a baby. But I… don't have any pity. A pitiful person must have something to hate. If he hadn't been weak, greedy and selfish, things wouldn't have come to this point. Chu Van Hao saw that everything was completely broken, and he didn't bother pretending anymore. He adjusted his collar, his voice cold.
“Brother, don't blame us.”
“If you want to blame, blame yourself don't know how to try."
“He holds mountains of gold and silver in his hands, yet he is an extinct family, embarrassing the Chu family.”
“I did it… it was also for the Chu family.”
“You…” Chu Van Ban was so angry that he was choking, his hand shaking and pointing at him.
Luu Ngoc Mai also regained consciousness at this time, screaming like crazy.
“White-eyed wolf! I raised you in vain!”
"Fuck off! Get out of my house!”
Chu Van Hao burst out laughing.
“Auntie, I have all your dirty things in my hands.”
"If you really make a big deal out of it... it's unlikely that anyone will lose more face."
The Chu family... completely turned into a dog-bite-dog scene. Ly Thien Thien and her parents stood next to her, as if watching a mythical play. Only then did they realize that, compared to this group of people, their calculations were just child's play. Ly Thien Thien's father pulled his wife's hand.
“The water here is too deep.”
He just wanted to immediately take his daughter away from this scandalous place. Ly Thien Thien's mother was still unwilling.
“Just leave like that? What about Qian Qian's losses?”
“Don't you think it's embarrassing enough?” the man growled.
The woman immediately fell silent. All three of them quietly retreated, like dogs that had lost their home. The large living room…only the chaos of the Chu family remained. I waited until they were exhausted arguing, their voices gradually fading. Just slowly took out the last piece of paper from the file bag. It's a divorce agreement. I placed it on the table and pushed it towards Chu Van Ban. My voice wasn't loud, but clear enough for everyone to hear.
“Divorce?” Luu Ngoc Mai immediately jumped up.
“Don't you dream! I don't agree!”
“I don't need your approval.”
I looked at her, my eyes cold as ice.
“This is between me and Chu Van Ban.”
I turned to him. At this moment, he was like a lost soul, his eyes were empty.
“Chu Van Ban, the terms are very simple.”
“First, this marital house belongs to me.”
“Second, the company shares are in your name, the ten percent you intended to give to Chu Van Hao, also belongs to me.”
"Third, fifty thousand moral compensation must be transferred within a week."
"As long as you sign, the entire conspiracy, recordings, evidence between you, your mother and that cousin... I will not publish it."
My conditions sound strict. But Chu Van Ban clearly understood... this was the biggest concession. If I unleash everything, the Chu family will completely collapse. He picked up the pen, his hand shaking uncontrollably. Luu Ngoc Mai saw this and immediately went crazy, rushing to try to take back the agreement.
“Don't sign! Boy! Do not sign!”
“If we sign, we will lose everything!”
I looked at her with cold eyes.
“Liu Ngoc Mai, do you really think you still have the qualifications to bargain with me?”
Chu Van Ban did not pay attention to his mother's cries. He knows... he has no way back. Trembling, he signed his name at the bottom of the agreement. Each stroke of the pen... seemed to drain all my strength. After signing, his whole body collapsed completely. I took back the agreement, didn't bother to look at them one more time, turned around and walked away. This house… I don't want to stay another second. As soon as I walked to the door, Luu Ngoc Mai's dark voice rang out from behind.
“Tham Nguyet.”
Her voice was like a poisonous snake slithering through her ears.
“You think you won?”
I stopped, but didn't turn around.
“Don't forget.”
“The bad debt of your father's company that year... who helped you? handle."
“I still have evidence of that.”
“If you dare walk out this door with this agreement…”
"I guarantee, tomorrow your father will spend the rest of his life for tax evasion... in prison."
Finally… she revealed her trump card. A card that she believes... could crush me in the palm of her hand.
