Chapter 4
Chapter 4 — The day my boyfriend got engaged, I revealed my identity as Thien Kim
"Doctor Tham, I heard that your resignation letter has already been submitted. So that's a good idea, hand over all the patient records you're in charge of to me, to avoid interruptions in the handover in the future."
Before I could speak, Luc Canh Hoai spoke first.
"Her patient, I will receive it directly."
The smile on Chu Vu Vi's lips faded a bit.
"Canh Hoai, I just want to help."
Principal Chu looked at Luc Canh Hoai.
"Vu Vi has just returned and needs to quickly get acquainted with the department. Since Dr. Tham is about to quit, he should coordinate the handover."
The whole department was silent. I pushed my husband's medical records over. Tieu Duong was frantic.
"Ms. Nam Chi, the patient in bed number three is very complicated. Last night you just adjusted the treatment regimen, how can you give it to her?"
Chu Vu Vi flipped through a few pages of medical records, her tone was superficial.
"It's just a gallbladder surgery, what's so complicated?"
I looked at her.
"The patient in bed number three did not have a normal gallbladder surgery. The patient had undergone two abdominal surgeries, the adhesion was very serious, and could not be operated on according to normal procedures."
Chu Vu Vi closed the medical record.
"Doctor Tham, are you doubting my professional abilities?"
"I'm just reminding you of the patient's risk."
She smiled.
"Don't worry. I studied at an advanced level in Beijing. I'm not at the point where I can't handle even such a small thing."
Luc Canh Hoai frowned.
"I'll take charge of patient bed number three."
Principal Chu's face immediately darkened.
"Canh Hoai, Vu Vi need a chance. I can't stand up for him in everything."
I pushed the medical record in front of Chu Vu Vi.
"If Dr. Chu is so confident, then sign the handover record."
Chu Vu Vi took the pen and signed, deliberately writing neatly.
"Doctor Tham, don't take yourself too seriously in the future. Without anyone, the hospital will still operate normally."
Tieu Duong was so angry that he gritted his teeth. I put away my notebook.
"I hope Dr. Chu will always remember this saying."
In the afternoon, the family of the patient in bed number three rushed into the office.
"Who is Chu Vu Vi? Why is my mother suddenly in such severe pain? Didn't you say this morning that it was just a small problem?"
Chu Vu Vi was drinking coffee and almost dropped the cup.
"Calm down. Pain before surgery is very normal."
The patient's family slammed the test results sheet on the table.
"Normal? The emergency doctor said the condition is very dangerous and must be re-evaluated immediately. Do you know how to examine a doctor?"
Everyone in the room looked over. Chu Vu Vi's face became unsightly.
"What are you talking like? This is a hospital, not a market."
The patient's family members became even angrier.
"My mother is still fine this morning. As soon as I left you in charge, something happened. I want to complain to you!"
Director Chu rushed over, the first thing he did was glare at the patient's family.
"What noise? Do you intend to affect hospital order? Where are the security guards?"
The patient's family pointed directly at Chu Vu Vi.
"You guys cover for each other, right? Great, I'll call the police."
At this time, Chu Vu Vi was really panicked. She turned to look at Luc Canh Hoai.
"Canh Hoai, please take a look and help me."
Luc Canh Hoai picked up the test results. Just look a few seconds... His expression immediately changed. Luc Canh Hoai looked at me.
"Nam Chi, you took note of the risk warning this morning, right?"
I took the backup copy out of the drawer.
"Doctor Chu signed for it."
Chu Vu Vi immediately spoke up:
"I don't see."
Tieu Duong couldn't bear it.
"Where did you keep your eyes when you signed? Nam Chi even mentioned it directly to you."
Chu Vu Vi's eyes turned red.
"Tieu Duong, don't slander me. Doctor Tham handed over so many documents, who knows if she intentionally left out important parts?"
As soon as he finished speaking, the entire office immediately fell silent. I looked at her.
"You mean I intentionally harmed the patient?"
Chu Vu Vi raised his hand to wipe the corners of his eyes.
"I didn't say that. It's just that I think... maybe Dr. Tham has a bias against me because of personal matters."
Director Chu immediately responded.
"Tham Nam Chi, you are also responsible for this matter. The handover was unclear, increasing the patient's risk. For now, you will temporarily suspend work to coordinate the investigation."
Tieu Duong immediately became angry.
"Based on what? It's obvious that Chu Vu Vi doesn't understand and still likes to show off."
Director Chu slammed the table.
"It's not your turn to speak here yet!"
Luc Canh Hoai put down the test results sheet.
"Priority is to save the patient first."
Having finished speaking, he looked at me.
"Nam Chi, you are the one who understands the condition of patient bed number three best. Follow me into the operating room."
Chu Vu Vi was frantic.
"Canh Hoai, she has been suspended from work."
The patient's family also looked at me.
