He told his assistant to investigate where Wen Van had gone. The assistant investigated for half a day, only finding out that Wen Van had left the bride's house, blocked all people related to the Luc family, and also resigned from Luc Group. She is really gone. Luc Han Chau felt a little tight in his chest. He couldn't say clearly what that feeling was. It's like there's something stuck there, I can't swallow it, I can't spit it out. He went to find To Niem. To Niem stayed in the best hotel in Giang Thanh, the presidential suite, eighteen thousand a night. She opened the door wearing a bathrobe, her hair was wet, she had clearly just finished showering.
"Han Chau, why are you here? Didn't you say we'd have dinner together tomorrow?"
"On Van is gone."
To Niem was stunned for a moment, then burst out laughing:
“Gone? Has she finally thought it through?”
“What do you mean?”
“Han Chau, don't tell me you like her, okay?” To Niem walked over and took his arm, "She's not worthy of you. From the beginning, you're the young master of the Luc family, and what is she? The nanny's daughter."
Luc Han Chau frowned, but did not refute. What To Niem said is true. On Van is indeed the nanny's daughter. He married Wen Van because she was obedient, understanding, and wouldn't cause him any trouble. But why, when he heard To Niem say "she doesn't deserve you", did he feel uncomfortable in his heart?
“Don't think about her anymore.” To Niem rested her face on his shoulder, "I'm home, let's start again."
Luc Han Chau did not push her away, nor did he hug her. He stood there, his mind full of On Van. The night On Van left, she pulled her suitcase out of the main gate alone. In the surveillance camera, she did not turn around. She walks very steadily. The streetlight cast her shadow very long. He watched that surveillance camera footage more than ten times. Every time he watched, he waited for a scene. She turned her head. But she didn't. Not even once.
"Han Chau? What are you thinking?" To Niem's voice pulled him back to reality.
“Nothing.” Luc Han Chau pushed her away, "Nien Niem, I'll go first. I need to take care of Wen Van's matter."
To Niem's smile stiffened on his face:
“You want to go find her?”
“Yes.”
“Luc Han Chau, do you like her?”
Luc Han Chau did not answer. Because he doesn't know the answer. Luc Han Chau searched for Wen Van for three months. Not because he loves her. It's because he's not used to it. Not used to having no one at home waiting for him. Before, no matter how late he came home, the living room light was always on. On Van sat on the sofa, holding a book in his hand. Hearing the sound of the door opening, she will stand up and say:
"I'm home, I'll go warm up some rice."
Now the living room is dark. There was no one waiting for him. There was no one to warm his rice for him. Unaccustomed to not having On Van's cooking in the kitchen. Wen Van's cooking wasn't necessarily very good, but she remembered all of his tastes. Stir-fried sweet and sour ribs must have a lot of sugar. Steamed sea bass must have shredded ginger, not onions. The soup must be stewed for at least two hours. He had ordered food from outside many times and eaten at many restaurants, but nowhere could they produce the taste of Wen Van. Not used to the fact that there are no pre-ironed On Van shirts in the wardrobe. Shirt His clothes were all ironed by On Van. Each piece is neatly ironed, arranged by color from light to dark. Now the wardrobe is in a mess. If he wanted to find a white shirt, he would have to search for five minutes. Not used to the fact that when he has a stomachache, no one brings him a glass of warm water. His stomach is not good and often hurts. Before, every time he was in pain, as long as he frowned, On Van would bring a glass of warm water and place it in his hand.
