Chapter 3
Chapter 3 — The One Who Gets His Wish
The air fell into deathly silence. Two seconds later.
"What?"
“When people aren't there, it's best to log out of WeChat, otherwise it's easy to see things you shouldn't see.”
I was about to hang up the phone when I heard Ha Hien Nhien's trembling voice:
“You, you saw it all?”
I laughed softly:
"That's right, in addition to a few small fun things at the wedding, there was also drinking wine and flowers, as expected by everyone, you've pushed the boat along a bit, don't you count it as not being sociable?"
"Not!"
His volume suddenly increased.
“It was all just a joke, I didn't do anything wrong to you…”
"The lawyer will find me to handle the transfer of shares. When the decision is made, contact me again."
His voice suddenly became very soft again, almost inaudible.
"What do you mean? You don't even need the company anymore?"
My voice is extremely calm:
"That's right, Ha Hien Nhien, we broke up, from now on we will no longer have any relationship."
“Ngu Phon… you can't treat me like that… you and her…”
Van Tu Chi took the phone away and calmly said:
“You should rest.”
The voice on the other end seemed like the pause button had been pressed, only the sound of breathing was left. Before hanging up the phone, Ha Hien Nhien opened his mouth again and said:
5
"Who's talking to you? Where are you now..."
The phone is disconnected. Van Tu Chi helped me cover the blanket, his voice was very light:
“Wake up and let the doctor check again.”
I nodded. This sleep is not very peaceful. I dream a lot of dreams.
"Tieu Ngu... don't cry, your parents will bless you in heaven, you must be resilient and continue to live..."
"Miss Tan, you have just become an adult. Your parents' shares can be inherited and you can enjoy dividends, but you do not have the right to control and make decisions about the company."
"Ngu Phon, don't blame me for being cruel. The situation between our two families is a bit different now. We will send Tu Chi abroad to study. The previous engagement agreement as a joke will no longer count."
"You don't know how to drink? Who told you to drink!"
"It's okay for me to negotiate the project. Don't force yourself. I don't want to see you get hurt."
“Ngu Phon, tell me, can we make it through this time?”
"Thank you, Ngu Phon. When I was at my lowest point, you were always by my side. If it weren't for you, I probably would have given up long ago."
"The company's revenue increased several times this quarter! Ngu Phon, this is all your credit."
"Vi Vi... I've already achieved fame, I can stand next to you, why are you... burp! You're not back yet?"
“Tan Ngu Phon, I like you, I want to spend the rest of my life with you…”
When I woke up, the bloodshot eyes in front of me overlapped with the image of the red-eyed teenager saying goodbye to me in my dream.
"Is there anything else uncomfortable? The doctor said your fever has subsided. If you wake up, if you don't feel uncomfortable, you can be discharged from the hospital."
I just looked at him, said nothing. That year he was only eighteen years old and could not go against his parents' decision. The love between us is mostly the friendship we grew up together since childhood. The love rate is almost non-existent. He never considered betrayal to me. I never blamed him either. I just didn't expect that, going around and around, he would eventually return.
"What's up?"
I suddenly hugged his waist, voice muffled.
“Did you have an argument with your family?”
He gently stroked the back of my head, his voice carrying a steadfastness that made people feel secure.
"You don't need to worry about anything, I've taken care of everything. No one or anything will affect us anymore."
I closed my eyes.
"Okay."
Return to the villa my parents left me. My thoughts were pulled back to when I was eighteen years old. After the university entrance exam, my parents were in a car accident and both passed away. The company is held in the hands of other shareholders. I can only receive annual dividends. Van Tu Chi's family went abroad, and his friends gradually dispersed. Only Tham Vi and I went to university thousands of miles away. Same major, same class. My personality went from being cheerful and cheerful to being lonely. Everyone in my class doesn't like me very much. Only she is always by my side. Ha Hien Nhien's feelings for her can be seen by anyone. Maybe it's because I'm so close to her, but I also long to be loved. I saw his low self-esteem and suffering. Because of sympathy, my love becomes heavier. During those college years, I looked at his back, and he looked at her back. Until she graduated, she went abroad…
“During those years in college, every time I contacted you, I hoped you would pay a little attention to me.”
Van Tu Chi's words pulled me back to reality.
"I know that when you were most isolated and helpless and left me behind, you must have hated me to death... but my passport was kept, I couldn't go back... Tieu Ngu, I'm sorry."
I grabbed his hand, just like when I was little, just pulling his fingers.
"I don't blame you, I just don't know what else to talk about. You were also very upset during those years, right?"
He hugged me, his voice a bit choked.
