Chapter 3
Chapter 3 — The Privileges of Ordinary People
My family will kill you with one strike, leaving no way for the opponent to survive. The Trieu family immediately became a mess. Father Trieu Thien Minh's head turned dark and he ran everywhere to pray for help, but found that all the doors were blocked. Those who were once my brothers and sisters now stay away like the plague. As for Trieu Thien Minh, he was scared out of his mind. He had absolutely no idea which divine god he had offended, he only felt like the sky was about to fall on his head. Finally, he went to school, but not to cause trouble... but to beg me. That afternoon, I was reading a book in the library when Trieu Thien Minh rushed in, made a "thump" sound and knelt down in front of me. The whole library was silent. "Lin Du! Miss Lam! Fairy Lam! I was wrong! I was really wrong!" He was stained with tears and snot, hugging my leg tightly: "I'm not human, I have eyes that don't know how to look at Mount Thai! Please, please be generous, forgive our family!" This sudden kneeling made me flustered. “You… you stand up first.” "I won't stand! If you don't forgive me, I won't stand!" He cried like a three-hundred-pound child, tears streaming from his eyes and nose. All around me, curious eyes shone straight at me like headlights. I took a deep breath, trying to stay calm. “Trieu Thien Minh, when you bullied others, did you ever think this day would come?” He nodded repeatedly: "I've thought about it! Oh no, I haven't thought about it yet! It's me being stupid, lard covering my eyes! I don't dare anymore!" I pulled my foot out: "Okay, stand up. Whoever owes it, this is not what I did, but because of me it happened. I will tell my family, but don't let it happen next time." Trieu Thien Minh seemed to be pardoned, so he crawled and ran away. From that day on, my position in school became very wonderful. No one dared to tease me anymore, the eyes looking at me were filled with three parts fear and seven parts curiosity. Ly Na was so scared that she didn't dare return to the dormitory for several days. After returning, she avoided taking another route every time she saw me. My college life is finally peaceful. I thought life would return to “normal” from here. But I forgot... trouble, sometimes it's not you who looks for it, but it finds you. 6 After the Trieu Thien Minh incident subsided, I had a peaceful time in college that could be called "quiet youth". When my parents and brother saw that I was no longer in trouble, they stopped "visiting" me, only calls to check in every day and never-ending WeChat envelopes. My mother's "friend meets lover" incense bag really worked excellently. The relationship between me and my roommate Tran Tuyet became better and better, making the other girl in the room much friendlier as well. Although Ly Na still maintains that attitude, she does not dare to openly seek trouble anymore. I even started to enjoy this “pseudo-normal” lifestyle. Until that day, I received a call from an unknown number. “Excuse me, is this Ms. Lam Du?” The voice on the other end was very polite, but contained an indescribable coldness. "It's me. May I ask you...?" "We are the Truth Seeking Association. We are very interested in some supernatural events happening around you, and would like to invite you to come to our place as a guest to coordinate some research." Truth Seeking Society? Sounds like some civic organization weird department. “Sorry, I don't understand what you're saying. I'm very busy.” I hung up straight away. I didn't pay attention, thinking it was probably a new type of scam. But very quickly, I realized I was wrong. That night, Tran Tuyet and I returned from the self-study library and walked to the small deserted road in front of the dormitory when suddenly, from the shade of trees on both sides, four people dressed in black rushed out. Their movements were incredibly fast, they were wearing strange black uniforms, and in their hands were not knives or guns, but something emitting a dark blue light, looking like a stun gun but not quite the same. “Miss Lam Du, please come with us.” The leader said. My heart sank, I immediately understood that this was a person from that Truth Search Association. I reflexively blocked Tran Tuyet back, and at the same time put my hand in my backpack to find a defensive formation. "Who are you? If you don't go, I'll call the police!" "Police?" The man in black smiled faintly, his laughter filled with contempt: "The police can't take care of our business. We know you have a defensive weapon on your body, but do you think we're unprepared?" As he spoke, he took out a silver metal ball from his chest and threw it on the ground. “Whoosh——” The ball emitted a pervasive invisible wave ring. The defensive board in my backpack "clicked" with a very soft sound, then was completely silent. My brother's voice rang in his head: "That's a forbidden spirit device, which can temporarily disable magical weapons and low-level magic. Du Du, they're well prepared." Oh, I forgot to mention, my brother also left a divine mind on me, so if there is an emergency, I can contact him directly. "You! Save my life!" I shouted in my heart. "Don't be afraid, I understand. Try to hold them off, I'll be there in three minutes." Three minutes? Honey, in three minutes the vegetables will wilt! Four men in black were approaching. Tran Tuyet screamed in fear. I gritted my teeth and suddenly pushed Tran Tuyet towards the dormitory: "Run quickly! Call someone!" Then, I grabbed my backpack, put all my strength into it, swung it around, and hit the black shirt leader straight in the face! This is the most heroic kind of resistance that an ordinary person like me can do! “Pop!” The backpack hit him squarely and firmly in the face. The guy in the black shirt groaned softly, probably not expecting a weak-looking girl like me to attack so strongly. But he was a professional after all, he only staggered a bit and then quickly stood up, his eyes even colder. "You invited me nicely but you still refused, so don't blame me." The two men behind him immediately separated, one left and one right rushed forward. I closed my eyes in despair. It's over... today I'll probably be caught and cut into pieces for research. However, the expected lockout never came. I only heard two sounds: "Pop! Bang!" heavy, like the sound of a watermelon being smashed. Opening my eyes, I saw two black-shirted men who had just rushed forward were lying on the ground, their arms and legs twisted, unconscious. My brother - Lam Chien - didn't know when he appeared, standing right in front of me. Still wearing his usual simple clothes, but at this moment his body seemed to radiate an invisible layer of murderous aura, his eyes were as cold as a cold current blowing from Siberia. “Dare to touch it?” His voice was very light, but it made the remaining two men in black tremble all over, as if they had just been thrown into an ice cellar. 7. Entire family mobilizes Name The leader in the black shirt clearly did not expect reinforcements to arrive so quickly, and to be so strong. "Who are you? Are you a member of Thien Vu Minh?" He screamed, trying to sound intimidating to hide his fear. Lam Chien did not answer, just moved forward step by step. “My sister… is also something you dare to touch?” With every step he took, the dry leaves on the ground seemed to be swept up by an invisible wind, swirling in mid-air. The surrounding air seemed to freeze. The man in black knew he had kicked the iron plate, swung a fake move and turned around to run away. The other guy also quickly followed. Lam Chien coldly snorted, his figure blurred slightly and disappeared on the spot. Just a moment later, he was standing right in front of two men in black, carrying one in each hand like a baby chicken. “Crack!” The crunching sound of broken bones rang out, and two miserable screams burst out at the same time. The two men immediately went limp and fell to the ground. Lam Chien threw them down like two bags of trash, clapping his hands to brush away the dust, as if he had just brushed off two small grains of sand. He walked up to me, the heavy murderous aura from before disappeared without a trace, returning to the look of a gentle brother caring for his sister. “Du Du, aren't you scared?” I looked at the four "bodies" lying on the ground, looked at him again, swallowed my saliva, and shook my head. “Are you… are they… dead?” “No, just broken bones.” Lam Chien said lightly, "There is still a use for keeping it." At this time, my father and mother also arrived. My father "flew" straight forward, landing with a large gust of wind, rustling the leaves. When he saw the group of black clothes, his face immediately became so gloomy that he could cry. “The Truth-Seeking Society?” He glanced at the badges on their uniforms and sneered: "A bunch of sneaky mortals, but they still dare to touch my dragon clan's bloodline?" As soon as the words ended, the sky was suddenly covered with dark clouds, and thunder sounded in the distance. My mother had a sad face, quickly checking me from head to toe, touching me all over to make sure I was not injured. "My daughter, are you hurt anywhere? Are you scared?" My mother's nine tails gently swept back and forth behind her, carrying a sweet scent wafting in the wind. I was surrounded by the three of them, suddenly feeling like I was being protected by the three sect leaders of the three great sects. “I'm fine, you came just in time.” I quickly replied. My father's eyes fell on the forbidden spirit device on the ground, a cold light flashed in his eyes. "This thing... is aimed at us. They know our identities." Lam Chien nodded: "They captured Du Du, because they wanted to use her to threaten us. They thought Du Du was our weakness." My mother smiled coldly, her originally gentle face now exuding a strange love that made people shiver: "Weakness? Huh... They will soon understand that my daughter is not our weakness, but our playfulness." “Dare to touch my daughter, some ‘Truth Searching’ group… no longer needs to exist.” My father firmly concluded: "Yes. Thuong Hai, Nguyet Tam, A Chien, prepare. We will 'visit' this Truth-Seeking Association." He paused for a moment, his voice lowered, filled with irresistible majesty: "Bring their headquarters...over to me." Listening to this cool "family conference", I suddenly had a feeling... this so-called "Truth Search Association" was probably about to end in bad luck. 8 What happened next was still happening More virtual than Hollywood blockbusters. My brother - Lam Chien - through the interrogation of a few guys who were captured alive (it was said that with just one glance from him, they had already revealed all eighteen generations of their ancestors), he gently found out the branch address of the local "Truth Search Association". It is a secret base located in an abandoned industrial park on the outskirts. That night, the sky was pitch black and the wind blew fiercely. Initially, I was asked to stay in the dormitory, but I protested to the death. Are you kidding, I'm missing out on a "destroying the lair" play like this? Finally, after I assured three times that I was only observing and absolutely would not cause trouble, my parents agreed to let me - the "family observer" - come along.
